Wellll, I didn't see a topic for this on the first few pages, so I don't think there's one... but if there is, sorry. xD
I was just wondering if anyone else here has read the wonderful series by D.J. MacHale. <3
As for me, I started reading them a few years ago - three, I do believe. My grandmother got me the first two and I was hooked. Bought the other three that were out for myself and was disappointed that I had to wait for the next one. xD I still feel that way, every time a new one comes out~ Happy that I got to read it, but upset that I have to wait more :'D
I do believe the next book is going to be called Raven Rise, and will be coming out on May 20 of next year (this is, of course, based on my recent Pendragon search on Amazon xD).
The books thus far...
Book one: The Merchant of Death
Book Two: The Lost City of Faar
Book Three: The Never War
Book Four: The Reality Bug
Book Five: Black Water
Book Six: The Rivers of Zadaa
Book Seven: The Quillan Games
Book Eight: The Pilgrims of Rayne
(Also, anyone else notice that every title except Black Water starts with 'the'? xD)

Oh, wonderful! I was hoping someone else would; and I agree completely. <3
Yes, yes, you must get Pilgrims of Rayne! It's great - one of the most exciting ones as of late, in my opinion. : D Mmmm, major plot twists. <3 ...Coincidentally, I got PoR a week before it was supposed to come out xD Amazon leaked me a copy. Emailed D.J. spazzing about it... I wonder if he was confused. :'D
In any case, who's your favourite character? I love all of them, but my favourite would probably have to be Spader O: <3

bearysplash - Yes, you should snag them out of storage and read them~ I don't know what kind of books you like, but I don't expect that you'll regret it. :3
~Koopess~ - Ohhh, do you mean Mark? If so, yeah, Mark was pretty awesome. xD I won't say anything else, though, just so I don't spoil you or anything. Spoilers are the worst~ </3

Don't let Mark Die
Yeah, I was sad when Kasha died too, she was one of my favorite characters as well. I wonder if McHale will make another series when their done with one, that would be awesome!

Haven't read book eight. >.<
One of the best books series I've read! <3
>.> Maybe because Black Water was where he lost a bunch of his friends... and Black Water sounds like such a good title he couldn't help but use it even though it broke the pattern.

bearysplash - Well, I wish you luck in finding them, then :'D
~Koopess~ - Oh, yes, I was very sad when that happened - but since we had only gotten to bond with her for one book, I was actually more upset that Spader and Gunny were trapped xD; (That doesn't have anything to do with the fact that Spader's one of my favourite characters, nooo, of course not~ <_< >_>)
Ohh, if MacHale ever makes another series, I'll totally read it. I just hope I wouldn't be disappointed with it because of Pendragon's pure win and awesome. xD <3
red and black - If you liked all the others, then you definitely should pick up The Pilgrims of Rayne! As I believe I've said, it's one of the best of the more recent ones. The plot twists were delicious. Mm, plot twists. <3
That could be it 8O Plus, the title 'Black Water' just sounds so mysterious~ 'The Black Water' wouldn't sound as good - not to mention the fact that it wouldn't make much sense. :B

Yeah, no chance on earth it would be as good as Pendragon ^_^
And I think I skipped the book with Spader D:
Oh well, all the characters are awesome!
They should make a movie, but not let it bomb like Eragon did T_T

Ohhh, you did? Unfortunate! If you mean the second one (The Lost City of Faar) that one was the one that really got me into the Pendragon series. Much more exciting than The Merchant of Death... in my opinion, at least. Buuut, to each their own, right? xD And yes, all the characters are awesome :'D Makes it so hard to pick a favourite.
Oh man, the Eragon movie bombed, and bombed HARD. T__T I really liked that book, and I'm not really a movie critic, but. I wish they could have at least gotten ARYA'S HAIR RIGHT. D: How hard is it to get a black wig, or dye her hair black, man? ;3;"

I love this series to, one of the best in my opinion. I agree that Merchant of Death wasn't too exciting, but the second is chock full of adventure, and the third? Well, lets just say it's one of my favs. Heart Gunny forever, I hate the end of Black Water cause of that >.< AND, what was up with that plot twist at the end of Pilgrims of Rayne, I mean, it was like a permenant ending and then suddenly the had to go and through in that bit with Saint Dane, and I was liek "WHAT!!" t^t Why must MacHale tease us with such awful cliffhangers?
Out of curiosity, how would you all rank the books? I say...
1. Quillan Games
2. Never War
3. Black Water
4. Rivers of Zadaa
5. Pilgrims of Rayne
6. Merchant of Death
7. Lost City of Faar
8. Reality Bug
But their all good. Still, Quillan Games is my current fav, Bobby just gets so angry in that book! Its delicious. However, my favorite scene is in the Rivers of Zadaa. The one where Bobby gets really injured because (spoiler) He smack talks Saint Dane and gets beaten half to death cause of it I was so scared for Bobby t^t
Anywhoo, thats my massive post, hope there aren't to many typos, and by the way, Courtney/Mark for life!

Well, first off, sorry for my disappearance guys; I'd been feeling pretty crappy up until today xD But I should be on a bit more regularly now.
But, yeah! It's nice to see that there are quite a few people here already that like Pendragon!
~Koopess~ - Oh, that's great! :D You must tell us how you thought it was; we'll be looking forward to hearing your opinion. <33
aki-bara - Merchant of Death DID have its charm, yeah, but the second was way more enjoyable for me. Partially because of Spader (shameless fangirl, me? Nah xD), and partially because it just... was~ Gunny was awesome, yeah; I was upset at that too D: Why, D.J., why two of the most awesome characters? >: *ANGST!*
Oh god, the cliffhangers... I wasn't sure whether to love them or hate them xD It was pretty painful, but in a somewhat good way, if that makes sense? I love suspense, but I hate waiting~.
Hmm, well, it is pretty difficult for me to put all the books in order of how much I liked them D: They all had their own charm and stuffff... Uhh... maybe I'll just pick my favourite? xD *Ponders this for a moment* Oh man, this is even MORE difficult :'D I'd have to say that The Never War was up there, beacuse of how it really hit home... being on Earth, and all. The Lost City of Faar because, well. I love Cloral and Spader. Just the aspect of an almost entirely water-covered planet interests me so much. The Pilgrims of Rayne is up there too, because it had a lot of awesome plot twists and stuff that made me happy. xD All in all though, I don't think I could pick a number one favourite unless I re-read them all.
Ahahaha, I don't know if I have a favourite pairing~ Mark/Courtney is pretty cute though, and I think I'm somewhat for Bobby/Loor. O:

Heylo~
I absolutely LOVE this series, but, I've only read up to book six *cry* because I can't seem to find book seven and I didn't even know there was a book eight out! *gasp* Is it as good as it is so far, in book seven and eight? I'm really dying to read it! ^-^

I love the Pendragon series. I own them all but haven't had the time to read the latest yet. I really did hate when they started coming out in hardback instead of paperback. I'm poor I can't afford them .... but somehow I manage. Who needs food when you have books to eat through. At the moment I'm truly wondering what will happen to Spader and Mark. No one tell me if it says in 8. I will find out soon enough. The wait to find out is killing me though.
Before I actually bought the fist book I think I picked them up about 20~some times before caving and actually getting it. It never seemed like a book I'd love this much by what the description on the back on the book said.

Anyone like this series? I've read up to book 8 and I just got book 9 but I haven't read it yet. I'm very excited for it since it is finally the battle that takes place on second earth. I'm a bit sad that it is almost coming to an end.
For anyone one who hasn't heard of Pendragon, it is a 10 book series about a boy named Bobby Pendragon who finds out he is the lead traveler. A traveler is a person who can through space and time to different territories. Territories are kind of like different dimensions as well as different times. Like for example Second earth is our current time. And then there is also First earth which is our past until Around WWII. Some how all these territories exist at the same time together. I have not idea how it works. xD But yes then there is the villain named Saint Dane who is also a traveler but he wants to turn everything to total chaos by mixing up all the territories and ruling over all of Halla. Halla is described as all there ever was and ever will be. Deep. O_O That's a simple as I can put it all. x3
Here's some spoons. (:
Do you like the series?
What your favorite book so far?
Who's your favorite character?
What do you think will happen?
Do you think Pendragon would make good movies? xD
As for me, I obviously like the series. xD It's hard to pick my favorite book..but maybe the with Cloral and Ibara. Hmm it hard to pick one..I like Bobby and I like Spader. I have no idea what is going to happen but it better involve the good guys winning. >E I personally would love movies if they were done well. Though I guess 10 movies would be a bit much. xD

I haven't read number 9... I want to though : D
I like the series.
Number 3, The Never War, was fantastic.
I like Mark for some reason xDDD
I think that Saint Dane will not win. I wish he would though :( I have a feeling he has a good reason for his craziness.
And yes. Yes, yes, yes!

I only read books 1 - 5. I got sort of tired of them. The story is really repetitive! Does it get better in the later books? Or does it stay the same?

I really do think they just get better and better. The last couple of books have been pretty intense I think. Though I think the repetitiveness comes from the beginning of the books when the author is trying to summarize what happened in the story so far. He really should stop doing that by now..I mean why would anyone start a book series anywhere but with the first book? xD
