So, is anyone here a Star Wars book fan? I have read quite a few of them (at last count over 100 I think) and am currently re-reading the Dark Nest trilogy before I move on to the Legacy of the Force series.
So what is your favorite era to read about? Ever met any of the authors? Gotten any books signed? (I personally own a limited edition specially bound and signed twice by the author Revenge of the Sith novelization!)

Heh, may I mention that another young lady I met here in the books subforum has the username Jaina Solo? She'd probably squee at this topic. I'm just lucky to have recognized the name. I only read one of those books, with Jaina and Jacen. If I want to read fanfiction, I'll read fanfiction, you know?

Oh, oh, I have! My favorites are New Jedi Order, and the recent Legacy of the Force series earns very little love from me, though.
Yuuzhan Vong = Epic win. :D

Yeah, I haven't gotten into the Legacy of the Force series yet. I tried to start reading the first one but then realized I had forgotten way to much of DN. I was like huh? What? Confusion!

I have this whole rant where I scream and cry about how much I hate Star Wars and George Lucas, but you kind of have to be present to witness it to its fullest degree of wrath, loathing, and hatred.
But I love Grand Admiral Thrawn; Timothy Zahn is much love. I hate the way he died. Really, really, REALLY STUPID. I hate Kevin J. Anderson. Daala could have been a great character, but he turned her into a brainless bimbo who slept her way to the top. Hello, military super-genius? I don't think 10 years would reduce that to taking 4 Star Destroys to take on the entire galaxy, without even setting up guerilla warfare.
Ahem. Grand Admiral Thrawn = love, yes. I LOATHE the New Jedi Order, without exception. Haven't read it all, but 4 books in and I stopped.
Do you remember the Galaxy of Fear books? ^_^ They reminded me so much of Goosebumps . . .

I wasnt a huge fan of the Lagecy of the Force series. I just didnt like how it played out. But I did enjoy the New Jedi Order a lot.
My favorite star wars book trilogy is that of Han Solo, I loved all three.

I'm still a fan of the Legacy of the Force; I stopped enjoying it as much after the fifth book--but it's still entertaining.
Apart from these and the books by those authors, though, the only Expanded Universe books I've ever really enjoyed were the books by Timothy Zahn -nodnod- Everything else just read kind of like fanfiction.... Not even really good fanfiction, either.
The New Jedi Order was alright; it was interesting. I just didn't like it as much. (I think that they should've maybe kept it down to just a few authors?)
