It depends on the book I guess..
Shorter books, maybe 90-120 pages take me 25-45 minutes.
But thinker books (400+) take me probably a 3-5 hours.
Are you sure you're reading, or are you skimming.

Okay, so maybe I don't remember. xD But it wasn't any more than five hours. I read pretty quickly.

I read a lot, and so, yeah, I can do it fairly fast now.
In sicth grade I could do about 600 pages a night. 700 if it was really interesting.
But this was four years ago, and I'm a high school student now. We're far too busy to read.... D:

The fastest would be reading The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown in approximately four-five hours. xD That's not really that fast, but I enjoy reading each and every details of a book. And it was summer, so I had the time.

xD I know what you mean. When I get into a novel I really like, I really get into it. I will just keep on reading, because I just can't stop.
I think the fastest I've ever read a decent length novel was...2 hours. O_O;;
I finished The Deathly Hallows in...about 5 hours. x_x;;;

I read a small novel years back. I procrastinated and had to do a book report in one day when I hadn't even read the book yet.

I used to power through books in a matter of hours, but that was a few years ago when I had more free time.
The last book I read was "Dearly Devoted Dexter" and I guess it took me three or four hours, but I split that up over a couple days. I tend to read a bit more slowly nowadays, and have a ton of books spread over the house to read.

Hmm. Fastest I've ever read a book. Let me think.
I guess it would have to be about four hours. House of the Scorpion I believe. That book was so good it kept me reading for that whole time, no breaks at all. I highly recommend the that book, it won three awards for a reason.

The fastest I can read a book is in two days. I'm usually busy with things that keep me from reading it all that one day. A longer book such as the last Harry Potter one I can read in four days.

Hmmm... I'd say if I'm reading straight through a book, it'll take me a maximum of five hours. The last Harry Potter book took me about 4.5 hours, and that was fairly long...
If I get really into a book though, it takes me longer because I like to reread parts of it to get a better understanding of what's going on. I finished reading "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" last week, and that took me six days. Mostly reading at school, though.

Eh...Four to Five hours
would be the shortest time
in which I have read a book.
I belive it was either one
of the Harry Potters, or
one of the books by Amelia
Atwater Rhodes.

There was this one point in high school when i was insanely into reading, i would literally read ANYTHING with writing on it if i could understand the language. That was around the time the mortal kombat movie came out (wow... did i just date myself abit there? i think i did... gorramit i'm old arent i?) so i picked up on a whim the novel of the movie, it was an amazing read. Had ALOT of stuff in it that didnt make the movie (for example that poor "art lean" guy had more than ONE fight before he got pimp slapped to death by goro) and i got so wrapped up in it when i brought it to school i managed to finish reading it twice completly through before the end of the school day. I shocked myself that day pretty severly...
There was another time i read bram stokers dracula on a 7 hour bus trip non stop cover to cover... i actually forgot to eat entirely while i was doing that but the book was so good i just couldnt put it down... the same applied for the gremlins movie novel. i got it on that same trip and the whole way back i worked that gremlins book, it was open so long it split but i managed to do it all in one sitting. I wish i still had that kind of enthusiasm for reading.

All these people with four, five hours of reading.
I finished Harry Potter 7 in about two and a half hours, and I can tell you most details.
I once tried to calculate how much I read in a minute, and it was about 2,5 pages.
That was about three years ago, and I read a lot faster now.
I think I got the fast reading from my grandmother, she reads a lot, and can finish a 300 pages book in a little more than an hour.
and I can do that, too when I concentrate on the book and when I'm really not distracted.
It's why I read books in english and not my first language.
English used to slow me down a lot, but now I read it almost just as fast as any book in dutch.

It depends on what I am reading. I'm an insomniac so i read alot. I guess you could say I read four to five books a week when im not doing homework or have class. And thats when im not on the computer. I think the fastest Ive read a big big book was the 5th harry potter, which i read in 6 hours. It was crazy. I couldnt put it down. but anyways, for romance novels I can finish one or two a night. and mangas and comics are gone within fifteen minutes to an hour each. But yup, Im glad there are others out there that read as much as i do. No i dont feel so weird.
