i think this book is really good, though it not really the type of book that i would read but after i read it, i thought it was really interesting.
they way the author write the novel is really pretty. i making this topic because i dont know if there anyone here read it yet so if you has read it or heard about it, please post here. said your throught.
about the book:
it have total of 548 pages.
the novel was divided into 7 book like chapter and each book have many mini chapter narrating by different character. there are 5 narrator in this novel, all of them are women. one of them in the mother and the other four is her daugter. the book take place in africa [the congo]. where a family of american come to trying to show the new religion and the family [which in the narrator family] have to get use to the new place and new thing.
narrator:
Orleanna: the mother who tell her story in past tence.
Rachel: the oldest daughter. only concered about her appearend. hate the congo and alway wanted to go back to america. from 15 to 50 she alway racist and arrogant.
Lead: the good twin. a tomboy. understanding. alway follow her father idea but later learn to follow her own throught.
Adah: the bad twin. was born with 1/2 her brain not functional. read and write thing backword. never talk, only when necessary.
Ruth May: the youngest daughter. very curious. later die by got biting by the green mamba.
