yes, actually i am working on one right now, i tend to not have finished my previous stories, but this feels like it might actually go somewhere, so hopefully one day in the future i will have been able to publish it ^_^

Yay another Nanoer!

Yes, I write. I have about five or six story bits that I've started. I have three completed works, and one that is very close to being done. I just need to finish it. Then I have one more that isn't half done but needs a major overhawl and rewrite.

I don't plan on becoming famous. I just would like to be published someday, which is why I am planning on going for a second round of editing on one of my novels. Most are short, under 75k.

I honestly don't care if I become a famous author or not. Being famous would be a lot of trouble since then people would want book signings, which I'd only be able to do in the summer. But I can't think of not writing. It's theraputic.

I've been wanting to write a book for a long time. Not because I want to win any awards or anything like that, doubtful I'd become famous for it but to have a universe created and let people immerse themselves in it is kind of a neat concept. If I were to ever write a book and actually get noticed for it that'd be pretty neat though.

Thomas October 07-21-2009 02:35 AM

Well, yes and no. Yes, because I really like writing and I'm interested in doing it as a career at some point... I have no idea if I'd be famous or not, since it hasn't happened yet. And no, because I already have written a book! NaNoWriMo is a wonderful thing.

I have many great ideas that would probably make me some moola haha.

Most of my ideas are inspired off of my own life:
The first one would bea trilogy
- A girl from Russia moves to North America, to a big city, and tries to understand and deal with all of the differences and changes as she grows up and is influenced by different beliefs and other people's morals
-In the second tome she meets a boy who is from the country, they fall in love and she moves with him to a smaller town. All the people are different and she has to, yet again, deal with the changes and all the drama, as she is judged as an incompetent city girl. She has to figure out what she will do with her life as she is now an adult.
-In the last part, when she is much older, she breaks down, freaks out, thinks that the first bad thing to happen to her was moving to North America in the first place. After retracting herself to a summer house her family owned in Russia and realizing that life is never easy, she goes back to her boyfriend in North America, as they finally settle down.

That is just a quick brainstorm.
The truth is, I have a lot of immagination, but I don't really have the patience to actually write a book just yet. If I ever have some extra cash on hand I would probably pay a writer to write out my stories.

JessiFlakes 07-22-2009 01:07 AM

The problem for me isn't wanting to write a book, the problem is finishing the ones I start. I always get writer's block, or come up with a new idea to run with and drop the last project. I usually go back to writing them, but the bouts of writing are few and far between.

I don't care so much about becoming famous or winning awards- I could probably do without either of them. I just want to share my stories and have people enjoy them. I think it'll make me feel a little more accomplished- though, I'd feel accomplished if I could even finish one of them....

Pina Colada Extract 07-28-2009 06:53 PM

I have the first couple chapters of about 20 possible books in my files. LOL most of them suck though. Once I think I have a really good idea, it slips away and I get bored.

iEmoKitty 07-29-2009 12:52 PM

Most definitely!
One small problem though...I'm too lazy tosit down and write for an hour or more. I have some good ideas on what to weite about though...

Elirona 07-30-2009 05:57 AM

I actually am working on a book! ^^; My friends have been urging me on telling me that it's awesome. I need constant criticism, because usually after I write the first couple pages of anything I write I end up hating it and it's trashed.

It would be nice to win an award or two, but knowing that something I wrote was actually published is good enough for me.

Why?
I ask you, why not? =P This quote pretty much sums it up for me:

Quote:

The only reason for being a writer, a storyteller, is that you just can't help it. You have to do it. -F. Paul Wilson
I've been writing ever since I can remember, and that's not likely to change anytime soon. I'm trying to get my rear in gear and write a little everyday, but I have very little will-power when it comes to such things, so it's... kind of hard. O__o;; You're not five anymore, Mai! Get your attention-span up to snuff already!!!

Quote:

Do you think you'd become very famous or win a few awards?
Well, of course that would be my hope. ^__^;; But really, who knows? What sounds like a good idea and seems well-written to me might not prove so for others. I think just getting published at all would have me spazzing out from joy. And a review from Madeline L'engle, my authoring role-model, but she's... dead... *Mai sniffles sadly*

Onyx Empress 07-30-2009 09:41 PM

I really want to write a novel someday, but not to win awards or stuff. I just want to get my ideas out to the public. I love the magic of books and stories, and to write one would be nice =3

BlackMage KaiheiTsukiredi 07-31-2009 05:01 PM

I had considered writing my own stores because I do have a passion for writing fiction. Although my writing style is decent (not extrodernary, but it's simple). I would like to improve my writing in the future and I might want to get a book published (I'm inspired by many things so i always have ideas floating in my mind). However, I don't think I would be famous, maybe with just a few fans. I cannot guarntee that though, I can't prodict the future so whatever lies ahead I guess will be the judge.

falling up 07-31-2009 08:03 PM

Yes, I do...though I cant find a good excuse for a book and when I start writting, I feel like I dont have enough knowledge or any good imagination -but I read ALOT of fantasy books- and I usually cant find the words the satisfy my sentence to make a good one!!!

Can anyone help me with this problem???

Fixed With Duct Tape 08-01-2009 02:18 PM

I do. I actually do lots and lots of prep.. then I go to write it and I can't. Talk about a let down.

Kironomi 08-01-2009 02:42 PM

^_^

Oh, of course I'd love it.I don't know if it will be possible, though. But I can have hope, right?:)

ClockReject 08-01-2009 04:03 PM

I never considered writing books when I was younger, though I was always writing stories, my mom has thousands of them. When I hit my teens, I grew to love writing poetry, so I've been doing that for a couple of years now. Just recently, my friend and I were talking about school, and life etc. And I realized I could possible write one, so I've been planning it for about a week or two now, I have most of my ideas planned out, but there's still things that I want, cause I don't want it to be cliche or anything like that.

Oscar the Wild 08-01-2009 07:25 PM

YES! This has been something I've always wanted to do. I've got lots of story ideas, but for some reason, I don't really write the actual stories themselves. Doubt I'd get fans or even read, but it would be nice to dream, huh?

[x] random llama [x] 08-02-2009 01:16 AM

I read a lot, so of course every so often i'll have a little idea spark and i'll think 'Hey! Yeah! lets write a book!' But...That usually doesn't last very long.
A good friend and i are currently writing a book together, but it's only for a close group of friends and thats it. I don't have to do much typing, as i'm doing all the art for it.

Sariwa 08-02-2009 09:07 PM

Yes, of course... I've been dreaming of that since I was 4 or 5. I just find the ability of creating a world of my own in written words something special.
I don't think I'd be very famous, no. And I'm not sure if I'd want to either. Of course I'd want some recognition for it, but I don't know if I'd be comfortable being a famous author.

Lucitania 08-02-2009 09:13 PM

Actually I have written a book. I was suppose to make a short story for a creative writing class in high school, but i turned it into a 550 page book O_O
(but i never tried to publish or anything like that)

maellyn 08-03-2009 11:22 AM

In short, yes I do. I have actually written and completed a novel; a young adult fiction story actually. The thing that gets me each time is the editing; the wordcount seems to get smaller and smaller with each edit. I wonder how thin my book will be by the time I am satisfied.

frogmasterofthefunk 08-04-2009 12:09 AM

I'm interesting in writing a book. Two of my former English teachers told me I was a good storyteller, but also that I need to work on my grammer. So I need to work on that and my vocabulary.

Kat Dakuu 08-04-2009 07:42 PM

my dream has always been to write a book and I have many many stories I'm working on. I think I'm good...But the only problom is I only finsish things when I have a deadline.

PaintTheSkyRed 08-04-2009 11:45 PM

Yes, and I am acually working on it. c:

Javert 08-05-2009 09:41 AM

I do- and have already started doing just that. I wrote a small portion of my intended novel for NaNoWriMo back in 2007, and have been editing it ever since. I've ended up scrapping a lot of it, but it's been worth it so far. Some day, I'd like to finish it, and maybe even get it published. But I don't really don't care if I ever do- I just want to get my story out somehow. Even if I'm the only reader. :). But I'd REALLY rather have it published in some form. XD.
