I make a lot of mistakes, too. If you're really worried about it, go over it with your language arts teacher sometime.

Elphey 03-03-2008 12:34 AM

@Amane;
well, we weren't the only ones in there. There was a library press woman(who was scary as hell) that did most of the work.

I would love to one day write a book. I have hundreds of ideas that I have written down in a bunch of different notebooks and even more ideas running around in my head begging me to work them out and write them down.
One day I would love to be able to sit down write out a full book and get it published.
^^

Amane 03-03-2008 03:24 AM

I randomly talk to myself (Very softly, I don't like it when people hear it! In fact, I'm talking to myself as I'm typing this!) with weird stories based on what I was doing. No one wants to read them, but it's still really weird. XD.

@Elphey: Oh. It wouldn't be so bad, then.

Minou 03-03-2008 12:40 PM

I started to write a book a few month ago.... but I have no ideas for the story to keep writing on it now.... xDD
Maybe someday I'll finish at least the first chapter XDDDD

I've written several books. I haven't published anything, though; I've hosted a lot of work online and gotten a lot of positive feedback. I'm just not really sure how to go about getting my work published. Actually, I think once your work has been hosted online, no one will WANT to publish it, because anybody could have copies on their computers and go out and sell them or whatever.

So if you want to publish, I'd suggest you just ask friends and mentors to critique your work, rather than put it online!

Amane 03-05-2008 04:45 PM

@Fin Raziel: Do you think it would be okay if there's one little part that's just giving you the worst case of Writer's Block?

.Death Mittens. 03-05-2008 11:34 PM

I'm actually working on one among other things. 83 Doubt it'll ever be famous but hell I'm gonna try. XD

I absolutely love writing!
I do dream of writing a book, but not a novel. I dream more of publishing a compilation book of poems that I write, not only because the poems are something you can enjoy - but because I don't have the patience to write a novel! I mean, I have issues with having to write in details about things over a long time. I like being able to write things that are short, and get to the point without all the huff and fluff.

So maybe a book with poems, and short stories?
I don't see it as an impossibility at all though, I don't think I would be very famous - but who's to say!
I just don't want to sound arrogant or something.

Anyways, sorry for the rant XD I was just talking about this earlier today!

lots and lots of books or comicbooks

i have ideas
but never can get them out correctly ^_^
they just sort of stay in my head.

Amane 03-14-2008 07:26 PM

Now, comic books. I haven't heard that one in this thread yet. I'm not very much of a good illustrator, so that's out of the question for me. I know, I could write the book with someone and have them make the pictures (If the book is meant to have them.), but that might take some time.

Zen And Tonic 03-14-2008 07:28 PM

I've written short stories before, but I've never thought of publishing them.

Instead, the kind of book I want to write now are non-fiction books about microbiology, food science or scientific history. :D I imagine if I do it right, I might be successful, but that really depends on how much I can improve my writing and knowledge in the mean time!

JoieD 03-14-2008 11:09 PM

It's true that if you post your stuff online, it's unlikely to get published. You could always use a Vanity Press and publish it yourself, of course. I publish work that I don't intend to send out to real publishers online, so that I can get critiques and improve my writing in general. Anything I want to try and sell, I leave off line.

If you want a critique online, what you do is post it to a protected site, where only your friends can view it.

I actually want to write children's books. I've started writing out a few little stories and I have a series all planned out that I only have to write out. Of course then there would be finding a way for publishing and someone to draw the pictures; though I may ask some of my art student friends

I've always wanted to write books since I was little. Now I don't dream about it as much though. :3 I haven't really written anything in a long while. I wouldn't want to be too famous, like J.K. Rowling or anything.

I think that if you really want to, you can do it. It doesn't matter how old you are or how unknown you are. ^--^

Blondheart 03-15-2008 07:21 AM

I have wanted to write a book for about 20 years now, I just never can seem to find the time. I have a bunch of ideas written in a little book. Maybe someday.

Monochrome_Rainbow 03-15-2008 08:51 AM

I constantly dream of that now. I'm writing at the moment - I haven't got very far, but I'm enjoying it, and, for once, I actually have the whole story planned out, so I'm hoping it's going to work.

Even if I don't ever get published, I'm going to keep writing; I love grammar! Most people say that's weird, but I genuinely love it. XP

Fabby 03-15-2008 11:46 AM

I had a brief stint where I wanted to be a writer. I'm still considering it, but definitely not as a novelist. First of all, I can never come up with an idea good enough. Second of all, even if I did come up with a good idea, I get really bored with anything I write after it hits the 5-page mark. And... I doubt that anybody would actually read my writing. I've never really been able to gather an audience with... well, anything I've put out in the past. I'm not that interesting.

I hate it this year because of my teacher. She's really strict.

The PyroKittie 03-15-2008 08:05 PM

I've always been interested in writing and painting, more so writing. I used to write notebooks full of short stories in high school. I'm sort of rusty and out of it now, but I still have a dozen unfinished stories under my computer desk that I hope to get to one day and finish. I've never thought I would be one of those Great Writers, but I'd like to walk into a place one day and hear someone say "Didn't you write (insert title)?" and be able to say yes.

My creative writing teacher kept a copy of every story I wrote in her class to use as examples for future classes and told me all the time that she enjoyed reading them. Once in a while I get an email from her asking me if I wrote anything new. I feel bad telling her no, but I just haven't been inspired lately. I enjoy Roleplaying online, but it's not the same.

I'm going on two years without writing a word down for one of my stories. One of them sits there next to my desk glaring at me. It's 200 pages in and I've yet to add to it or edit it recently.

*sigh* I just need something to jolt me.

doctorjackal777 03-18-2008 01:45 AM

I've started several books, but the problem with no attention span, I tend to start on the new one before the old one is finished. I also write a lot of fanfiction to experiment with writing styles and for practice.

smolder 03-18-2008 07:39 PM

I've always loved reading and imagining new ways that my favorite characters could interact but I don't think I could be a writer. Although I love to play with peoples exsisting characters I don't think I could succefully make up my own original ones. Really, I love writing but I simply don't think I have the creativity, discipline, drive, and passion to do it for a living.

Han'iurami 03-19-2008 11:40 PM

Every now and then I feel inspired to write but then the next day I don't even want to pick up a pencil. It's sad really because I have so many idea's that flutter about in my head but only a select few make it out onto paper and even it's criticized by me brutally and ends up being tossed aside or thrown away.I've always imagined writing some sort of fantasy or fairytale but lately it's as if the inspiration had been drained right out of me and doesn't seem to be returning anytime soon.

Amane 03-21-2008 02:44 PM

When I have several ideas, They usually run around in my head, making a mess and kicking everything (That was metaphorical. Thank goodness that doesn't really happen! That would be stressful.) until I let them out.

plum-blossoms 03-29-2008 06:59 AM

as soon as i sit at a desk with a paper and pencil i begin to write. i write all my ideas and i just flow. i love to write because it's a way in which i can express myself and be free.

i always dream of becoming a famous writer. having people enjoy my writing. thats all i would ever ask for. you never know it can happen to all of us when we least expect it.
