Ah! I saw this book on the Book Forum Catalouge and decided to come say a little something about it.
I did like it, it was a fun read, and the cover is so very clever! I did frown upon how the author altered details to the original Shakespearian play for the purpose of the book- I know the whole plot was the main character saving Juliet from dying, but that did NOT constitute changing other details of the story to make it work! Bah! I was very unhappy about that. Especially the potrayals of Tybalt and Benvolio- I like Tybalt, and did not appriciate him being potrayed as so despicable, but I suppose it's not that far out of bounds. :/ Benvolio was so horidly OOC that it almost ruined the book for me.
Other than that, I did roll my eyes at a few parts, but mostly I did enjoy it. :3 I would reccomend it to anyone who likes that sort of thing and isn't a Shakespeare junkie, because I imagine a Shakespeare junkie would be quite upset.
