I'm surprised there's no thread about it yet!

So, do you read the MtG series?
Do you play the game as well? (I'm assuming most who read the books do..)
What is your favorite "mini-series" in the series? (like, which block)
Why?
Any particular authors you like a lot?
What mini-series would you suggest?

For a list of the books, and info about them, here's the wiki link:

Personally, I have only read:
The Artifacts Cycle books (The Brothers' War, Planeswalker, Time Streams, The Gathering Dark)
The Kamigawa Cycle books, (Outlaw: Champions of Kamigawa, Heretic: Betrayers of Kamigawa, Guardian: Saviors of Kamigawa)
Part of the first Ravnica Cycle book (Ravnica: City of Guilds)
Time Spiral

I also own Planar Chaos (from a fatpack my boyfriend and I split)

I really like Scott McGough. Jeff Grubb is also good.

Kamigawa is BY FAR my favorite block I've read so far. AMAZING story.

I used to read the Magic: the Gathering books and play the game but I stopped reading the books and buying cards after Mirridon. I kept an interest in the game for a little longer, but to be honest I don't have anything to do with it anymore. I have all of the books from the beginning of Masquerade to the end of Mirridon. It looks like somehow we've managed to have successfully never read the same M:tG book...

I got interested as the Invasion cycle was starting so those were the first books I read. I think it's my favourite block as well because I love the characters on board the Weatherlight, and it's sort of the last stand of all the events that have come before. When I really got interested I actually bought the books from the block beforehand (Masquerade) and Nemesis is probably my overall favourite, because I really like the story of Avilla/Belbe.

I'm not sure about my favourite author, because it's a while since I did read any of the books but after a quick look at the article you linked to I would probably say J. Robert King because he wrote all the Invasion and Onslaught books.
