since most of you people here read manga and watch anime, the term "cosplay" should not be too strange for you.

cosplay; derived from the english "costume roleplay".
to dress up and act as a certain character of fiction (in this case anime and manga).
some of you might already have done so.

my question to you:

what do you think about cosplay?
have you done cosplay or will cosplay soon?
if money, time, material and skill (and other rules like gravity) were not an issue... which character would you loved to cosplay?

I want to cosplay, but i don't have a job yet. Need a job to get the costume, when i do I will do my first love! Jupiter from sailor moon. :D

I want to cosplay as Zelda.

I've never actually done a cosplay before, because I don't think I have the body, face, or hair to do it, but I do have a real tattoo of Sasuke's Curse Mark on my back, so if I were to ever do a cosplay it would probably be of him.

@Tano-san: A tattoo! That's so cool [lovelovelove!] I want one! ..Okay, I don't, I just want henna then :P I'm scared of tattoos :P But it sounds so cool ;D

I bought a hat of a Heartless from Kingdom Hearts and made a light cosplay around it, sadly I lost my little hat (WHY?! fate why!?!?) but while I had it I would dress in black and walk around with the hat over my eyes. I carried a little Roxas plushie with a sign that said "Help! I've been kidnapped by a Heartless fangirl!" or something like that. it was short lived but was definately my favorite cosplay I've done. I'm still new at the cosplay scene but I had so much fun walking around the convention like that.

I've never done it before but i would kind of like to do the queen of mars. In duck dogers or something from naruto

You should shoot for Tohru. She shouldn't actually be that hard or expensive. :D

I want to try to cosplay Kino from Kino's Journey, but I don't think I'd be able to make/put together that costume. XD

Holy cow Whack Snack, that's a brilliant costume just there!

I love cosplay. It's always wicked good to see people all jazzed up like that. Some of the costumes you see are so elaborate and amazing it's just unbelievable. The two most impressive ones I've seen in person were of the Joker from the latest Batman film and of Ryuuk from Death Note.

I've only done it myself once, and I went as Reno from the Final Fantasy VII franchise. It was a hurried and dodgy attempt, so I won't share photos.

Disregarding time and money and gravity, the characters I'd like most to go as would be Zack Fair, again from FFVII, Haruhi from Ouran High School Host Club, and Ritsuka from Loveless. And maybe Chii from Chobits.

And, just because this much awesome needs to be spread around, if you wanna see some amazingly detailed hand-made costumes, have a look here. One of the current projects being worked on is the most brilliant cosplay of Edward Elric...

I would lovelovelovelovelovelovelove to cosplay. Unfortunately, a lack of funds, sewing\crafting skills, and suitable cons nearby have sort of all reared their ugly heads to work against me. Sucks, but what can you do? The college I'm going to has an anime club, though, and they do an on-campus con every year, so hopefully I can get some help there.

I think cosplay is amazing and I would love to be able to participate.

I'm not much for sewing or buying wigs and things, so I would have to keep my ideas simple.

I would probably go as Osaka from Azu Manga Daioh simply because I already have straight brown hair and a school uniform would probably be easy to put together. Not to mention she's a complete moron would would be really fun to play as.

I love cosplay! I would really adore cosplaying someone like Myoubi from Alichino, but I stay with simple characters for now.

I've never actually cosplayed, but for my first time I'd like to play as Momo from Bleach, the girl shinigami with the blue hair-bun. She's so cool, I love her <3

Then I'd want to play as someone from The Melancholy Of Haruhi Suzumiya, only I'd lengthen the skirt juuuust a bit >_<;

I've never cosplayed, but I've always wanted to cosplay Ashitaka from Princess Mononoke.

Aisha Clan-Clan from Outlaw Star or Belldandy from Ah! My Goddess are my current favs. I wouldnt mind dressing up as a school girl and walking around town with a couple of my friends, just to see the reaction.

Amu-chan from Shugo chara, and you can watch shugo chara on watchanimenow.com or crunchyroll.com and... yeah it has funny rommance and some action but no blood. Its my type of anime. OH! And has Anyone ever seen it?
