You ever notice how some anime characters resemble each other? Like, I've always thought Haruka Tenoh (Sailor Uranus) from Sailor Moon looks exactly like Yui Hongo from Fushigi Yugi. Or Momiji from Fruits Basket looks a lot like Hunny from Ouran High School Host Club.

Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts, and then anime as well. Males with spiky blond hair seem to get a lot of attention.

I always thought that there is almost always a Kyouya in every single shoujo manga. xD

The decade in which an anime is made can have a lot to do with it.

Both Fushigi Yugi and Sailor Moon were both made in the early 90's, and since they're both styled in a shojo-manga style, it's no surprise that some may look a lot alike. But I do agree, Haruka and Yui both look a lot alike.

Kaguyan and Aang. If it wasn't for Kaguyan being mostly normal, fairly emo, and unable to bend the elements, I'd think they were the same guy.

I've noticed a few but I can't think of any different ones than you all mentioned for some reason.
There are also similar anime intros though. the one that comes to mind for me are Evangelion and Nadesico's intros. Somebody even made a video of the two being played together if you want to look it up.

I've seen that clip Pandaman, and the two clips are not similar, the person who made that video actually edited the Nadesico scenes to make it similar Evangelion and played it with the original Evangelion theme song, very cleverly done that was.

Sakura (Urusei Yatsura) and Kyoko Otonashi (Maison Ikkoku). Although the two were both created by the same person (Rumiko Takahashi), Urusei Yatsura is several years older than Maison Ikkoku. Sakura is a priestess with a short temper, while Kyoko is a landlady who is very kind. An interesting thing to note is that Sakura's boyfriend (Tsubame was his name, I think) and Kyoko's admirer (Godai) look almost exactly the same as well. Akane Tendo (Ranma 1/2) and Ami Mizuno (Sailor Moon). Another case of two characters who look alike but act very differently. Akane is a tomboy who can be very violent, while Ami is one of those quiet, smart types.Yui Hongo (Fushigi Yuugi) and Haruka Tenou (Sailor Moon). Both are from shojo anime. Yui is a quiet girl who is very smart and nice to others (well, usually ^_^;;). Haruka is a very masculine girl who loves racing (cars, motorcycles, video games, running...) Ifurita (El Hazard) and Sylia Stingray (BGC 2040). These two happen to have similar personalities as well. Both are quiet and seem to be very intelligent. Sylia is the stratigest and leader of the Knight Sabers, a group of female mech-clad vigilantes. Ifurita is an ancient demon goddess in El Hazard. An interesting fact is that the TV series version of Ifurita (above is the OAV series version) has black hair, just like the OAV version of Sylia (above is the TV series version). Or maybe that fact isn't that interesting. Peorth (Ah! My Goddess) and ??? (Sakura Taisen). I've never seen Sakura Taisen, so I don't know anything about this character. Gomen ^_^. Peorth is a goddess who works for a rival Goddess office in AMG, and Belldandy's aunt. Sakura (Sakura Taisen) and Kaoru (Rurouni Kenshin). Sakura is the main character of ST and that's all I know about her. Kaoru is a short-tempered martial artist from RK, also one of the main characters. Here is another picture of them, but their eyes have changed colors (although they both share the same eye color!!). Ataru Moroboshi (Urusei Yatsura) and Kensuke Aida (Neon Genesis Evangelion). These two have little in common personality-wise. Ataru is letch who is "engaged" to an alien. Kensuke is an obnoxious military otaku who carries a video camera everywhere. Athough these two don't look that much alike, this picture of Kensuke reminded me of Ataru, so I had to!Shampoo (Ranma 1/2) and Lum (Urusei Yatsura). Lum is the self-proclaimed fiance of the above-mentioned Ataru. Shampoo is the tribe-proclaimed fiance of Ranma. The two are similar: single track mind, foreign, cute, short-tempered, deadly... The main difference is that Lum is the protagonist and Shampoo is an antagonist. Both were created by Rumiko Takahashi.Ryuunosuke Fujinami (Urusei Yatsura) and Ryouga Hibiki (Ranma 1/2). Another set of Ranma/UY similarities. Ryouga is a boy who has no sense of direction and turns into a little pig when doused with cold water. Ryuunosuke is a girl whose father wants her to be a boy and thinks of her as a boy as well. The first and only boy/girl lookalikes!Linna Yama-something-or-other (BGC 2040) and Nabiki Tendo (Ranma 1/2). Linna is a office lady who is secretly one of the Knight Sabres. Nabiki is a sarcastic girl who uses everyone she knows to get money.Kahlia?? (El Hazard 2) and Rei Ayanami (Neon Genesis Evangelion). I haven't seen EH2, so all I know is that this girl is a demon goddess (like Ifurita). Rei is an Evangelion pilot and a clone with no emotions.
