Last night was the end of Toonami. Many anime fans were introduced to anime because of it and after 11 years it's gone for good. ;_; Adult Swim seems to be heading in the same direction unfortunately...

Just for the sake of being nostalgic...

I personally think that ever since the long time CEO of Cartoon Network stepped down due to the Mooninite Bomb Scare everything has been going kablewkey with Cartoon Network.

Not only has in my oppinion Toonami been mismanged into the dirt to the point of obvious low ratings which of course caused its cancelation, but now they are showing live action shows.

Cartoons and live action is Nickelodeon's job. Not Cartoon Networks.

And perosnally I only got Cartoon Network as part of my cable line up in 2003 so I can't really say I was around for the good times. Just when everything started to go downhill slowly then quickly. :(

They are doing the same thing for Adult Swim they rune Saturday night by showing repeats of Sunday night. The only thing will be good to see is the Star Wars: Clone Wars, looks like I have to watch You Tube for my Anime needs now that CN and Adult Swim rune it for us.

I miss the good old Toonami with Tom D= Once the little...aliens and that girl showed up...I /stopped/. I couldn't stand it any more, how it was turning out to be. It was putting on crap shows, not all the good things *coughGundamWingcough*.

THEN. It got bumped from it's midnight position for Adult Swim. I was ok with it at first- they still played anime, am I right? Of course. But THEN...they started playing what I like to call CRAP. Family Guy? Robot Chicken? Have they lost all pride and dropped all standards? I can't watch Cartoon Network any more, it shames me so... *shakes head*

@katyasha

Lets keep in mind people the US is going to pretty much tank into a depression (I always look on the dark side so if it accutally happens I can be all "bummer") and that Cartoon Network and Adult Swim aren't the small networks they used to be.

Adult Swim now has to worry about its own ratings ever since they seperated from Cartoon Network with the ratings listings. And lets get real. Anime rated low.

Maybe because more people watch it off the youtubes and bittorrents than on tv these days with false assumptions that half assed translations are the superior thing even though they aren't?

@Linally
If your talking about Adult Swim showing equal amounts of action and equal amounts of comedy then hell yeah that was a good idea as I never did get why they only showed an hour of comedy considering that was their major demographic. But then it went the other way and made me confused. xD

Oh DAMN. D: I didn't know about this! I used to watch shows that we had taped off of Toonami all the time, before I wore out the tapes. ;-; Reboot, DBZ, and several shows I watch I was introduced to through Toonami.

I feel... I dunno. Kinda like someone just killed part of my childhood, I suppose.

I will totally miss Toonami is was where i started watching anime with Ronin Warriors and Dragonball Z. Same thing about Adult Swim as much as I love Futurama and Family Guy, I will miss the Inu Yasha and the others that came on at the time.

I think the other thing i totally miss is the Saturday Night is was between kids shows and adult swim and it was like 5 hours of anime for teenagers. Totally will miss that some of my favorite shows were on that.

Sci-fi Ani-Mondays isn't that great and its only for an hour and that isn't enough.

So i guess it's back to the internet for those watching needs, good thing there are a lot of good sites.

WE NEED THE ORIGINAL TOONAMI BACK!!!

We've lost our cable for a while so I didn't know about this. o:

It doesn't really affect me, since I haven't watched Toonami for years....
Still...wow. That's so weird. Things have to change though, huh? ):

My little brother is going to throw a fit though. I guess I'll have to tell him. v_v

I didn't realize that Toonami ended. It seemed as though Adult Swim and Cartoon Network have taken a largely anime unfriendly approach. I was talking to a few people on Tokyopop and the execs wanted shonen anime.

TOONAMI ENDED?!?!? I should've noticed... *sighs* Man, I practically lived off toonami when I was around 8-11. That's how I started liking anime!! Yu Yu Hakusho, Ronin Warriors, Sailor Moon, Rurouni Kenshin, and G Gundam, those were all my first loves. And I've kinda stopped watching Adult Swim for its anime, so LONG LIVE MANGA!!! ^_^ (Major manga junkie)

I live in Brazil, and Toonami's been 'dead' here for quite some time now.
They aired only few animes here, but it was worth while it lasted...
As for Adult Swin, I think we still have it here, but there's nothing good on it...

I found out about this a while ago. I really miss the old Toonami. I always miss the animes that show on Adult Swim... I loved Toonami for showing all those anime too. Moving here from HK made me miss watching anime on TV.

Toonami...will be missed

*sigh* I really hate that they took all the shows that gave Epic a definition.

D: it makes me sad to see it go
