Ok, a question for you anime fans. Are semi realistic cartoons and anime the same?...Or can they exist separately.
To me, semi realistic cartoons are a type in and of themselves. Some animes are semi realistic, it does not mean every cartoon that is done in a semi realistic way is anime.
There are semi realistic animes and there are semi realistic cartoons that are not anime. Not every semi realistic cartoon is anime to me.

I have a slight disagreement with someone on this issue IRL.
I tell them, I like semi realistic cartoons and the reply is that means I like anime. Because semi realistic cartoons= anime.

The only semi realistic animations i have seen were all anime. So i can not really say if there are any others. Do you have titles?
Anime is animations produced in Japan. I think a lot of anime is semi realistic, that's what makes it so great. Anime's origine was to make realistic animations to create 'movies'. Whether it was because of a lack of actors or because making real movies was to expensive, i don't really remember. Probably it was the last thing.
