Flash Family Still Rules! ...kinda...
The Flash family still rules! A year ago, the best members were either dead, statuefied, or outside of continuity.
But that's over now! Barry is back! Bart is back! Jenni is back! Thad is...dead. And that makes me cry in many ways. My speedsters have been so badly mistreated over the last few years. I mean, Impulse and Inertia had great character potential, and then the Teen Titans ate them both. Jenni was one of the coolest Legion members back in the nineties, but she vanished with the coming of the threeboot. I won't mention Iris or Jai simply because I don't think they've proven their worth as superheroes just yet, not to mention that they lived their lives while Bart and Thad, the BETTER Flash family twins, were dead/statufied. Grawr. In other news, Kid Flash is going to have an ongoing series after the Blackest Night: Flash mini, and I think Max Mercury and Thad may be coming back in Flash: Rebirth. Speaking of the Blackest Night, Captain Cold versus the zombie version of Golden Glider? And possibly the Top? This will be an epic fight that shall end in tears. A final note: INERTIA FOREVER! I don't pretend to know too much about the Flash's comic background- I'm relatively new to the comic fanbase; but Wally has always been my personal favorite. The again, since I'm an avid fan of the DCAU, that may have something to do with it. :D

You are forgetting the Reverse Flashes, and Owen, Cp. Boomerang II, though he's technically half a speedster. :lol:
I believe Inertia was already unstatued just before the Countdown series started, of which he gather the Rogues Gallery to go against Flash and Bart was killed by accident. Although I admit I can't really remember what happened to Inertia in the Rogues Revenge run. I'm glad Barry is back, although I can't say I really like what they are doing to him in Rebirth. (Not that I like what they did to Wally's personality to begin with in some of the later runs, especially his attitude around Bart. >.>) |
@ Squee-Chan While I'm not a big Wally fan in the comicsverse, JLU Wally is probably my second favorite character in the series.
@La Mod Ah, but Owen doesn't know about his family ties to Bart, and Hunter Zoloman is sort of a dork. Dork being whale penis, not dork being...us. And I didn't mention Cobalt Blue either, mainly because he isn't really part of the Flash family, he's just a jerk that steals speed. And in the Rogue's Revenge run, Thad was killed. My poor honey. Though I'm really hoping that he comes back in Flash: Rebirth and not Blackest Night: Flash, mainly because in the latter, he would be a zombie. |
@ Touch of Grey - JLU Wally is like. Awesomely awesome. xD; I loved him. TBH that's what I know him best from. I know Barry better in comicverse. I have rebirth but haven't read it yet. That's sad for a huge Flash Fanboy. BUt I have no time.

I love Owen, and his official file with CCPD says his mom is Meloni, so he's going to find out sooner or later, and I cannot wait for that to happen! It's going to be awesome. I am still pissed that I can't get ahold of any Outsiders or Supergirl comics. I hate Kara, actually, but Owen's in them, so I will read them.
@ Touch of Grey The original Cobalt Blue is Barry's twin brother, so I would say he is part of the Flash Family Anyone else notice the proclivity of speedsters to have twins? Barry and Malcolm Don and Dawn Iris and Jai I mean, what's with that? |
