I've only read the Secret Invasion comic, but I've already fallen for Deadpool. He's so insane, I love it!

So, fans of Deadpool: which comics of his should I read now? Should I go back all the way to his beginnings, or just keep on reading more recent things?

Also, I heard there's a movie for him in the works, and that he was seen in the recent Wolverine movie (which I have not seen).

Discuss why you like Deadpool (or why you don't) and tell me which story of his is your favorite.

I've only just got into Deadpool (sounds rather dirty, actually)-- though I don't suggest seeing Wolverine Origins, it was a godawful waste of cinema.

But isn't he wonderful? I'm looking for suggestions too, actually, on what to read next (just finished Secret Invasion). Perhaps it is best to start with newer ones, just so see how they are? I usually find myself much fonder of fresher incarnations, like the new Hellblazer and Frank Miller's take on Batman.

Yeah, when I bought Secret Invasion, the guy recommended that I start reading newer issues. If I knew of a close-by comic book store, I'd probably go buy some. Plus I want to know what happened after SI, Deadpool seemed to be in kind of a pickle (as usual). Those zombie nurses in that comic were epically awesome.

I've loved Deadpool for years. If you want to fully understand the crazy that is Deadpool, I would recommend going back to his beginnings in X-Factor. But since it was written in the 90's you'd have to suffer through the Grim!Gritty!trend that had hit and is recently resurfacing in comics with a vengance. But worse than that? Liefield art. So! To save on time and money - I'd go here for background info on the Regenerate Degenerate: www.comicvine.com/deadpool/29-7606/
and here:
marvel.wikia.com/wiki/Wade_Wilson_(Earth-616)
Then from there go to whatever series you like. I always have a soft place in my heart for Fabian Niciezas' run titled Cable & Deadpool. Also, great comdey gold found in Deadpool's appearances in Agent X or self entitled Deadpool comics circa 1998/9 - now.
Hope this helps!

Cable Deadpool is an EPIC series!!! I didn't know Deadpool until I read these comics and he is now one of my favorites. The stark contrast between the two of them, yet the undeniable connection they have is a beautiful triumph of writing. Do not, and I repeat DO NOT pay any mind to the "Deadpool" in the Origins movie. That is not Deadpool. And Ryan Reynolds has promised to fix that little...mistake...in the ACTUAL Deadpool movie! If you want more Deadpool goodness, I recommend looking up "Marvel vs DC" on youtube and finding the Wolverine Origins episode, the Wolverine/Watchman episode and the Deadpool/Green Lantern episode. The fellow who writes and produces those is so good!!! He has captured Deadpool's personality to a T! Best of luck and happy hunting!

I love... LOVE Deadpool... I'm such a huge fangirl of his. My friend got me into the series and I absolutely fell in love with his quirkiness. The Cable and Deadpool series is by far my most favorite of his series.

As for Origins... I feel like someone just regurgitated the storyline and destroyed Deadpool. Wade Wilson they got pretty good, but Deadpool? Seriously... -_- It was a disgrace and I wanted to cry when I saw it.

I love Deadpool been reading the first series and fixing to start on Cable and Deadpool. I have also been trying to keep up with the new series hes in Merc with a Mouth but its not going so well cause i can't find the comic in stock where i get mine.

Also i think when it comes to voices for Deadpool i would have to pick John Kassir from the Marvel Ultimate Alliance series.

That mess up on Dead Pool ruined the whole movie for me. Reading Merc with a Mouth. Reading the series featuring Cable and Hope right now. Wolverine use to be my favorite until all his kids started showing up, one kid, one clone...

Deadpool is fantastic. He can break the fourth wall! For deadpool fans, there is a whole lot of surprisingly good Deadpool stuff on YouTube, including a decent live action version, a Deadpool/Deathstroke team up, the hilariously awesome series Deadpool and Friends, and the aforementioned Marvel v. DC episodes.

I love Deadpool! He's my favorite comic character, by far. I mean, how can you not love the Merc with a Mouth?

And yes, I agree with the other people that have posted. The "Deadpool" that showed up in the Origins movie was not Deadpool. Ryan Reynolds did an awesome job playing Wade Wilson, but the Deadpool at the end(which Reynolds didn't play) was just a travesty. You can tell that Ryan Reynolds was pissed at how Deadpool was handled in interviews. The guy has been a fan of Deadpool for about a decade now, so he was as pissed as the rest of us. The Deadpool movie that he's working on right now looks really good, though. They're making it as close to the comics as possible. Deadpool will be scarred up, wearing the full costume, and breaking the fourth wall. Yay!

After my friends and I saw the Origins movie, we immediately went back to our dorm, brought out all of our Deadpool comics, and attempted to purge the horribleness of the movie through a huge comics-reading evening. xD
