Please Save My Earth
I used to see the books all the time at the book store I went to. I read the back, and while I was curious, I never did buy them. Eventually I did end up reading Please Save My Earth, and I have to say it was a really sweet manga. I really enjoyed it. It even has a sequel(which I haven't read much of it)
I have to say I find the idea of reincarnation interesting, especially in this case where it's like it's in the future but really it's from the past. I love all the twists and turns, and I have to say I do like the main coupling(it's so innocent and cute ^^) The two stories intertwined with one are awesome..and even though the art is old fashioned, the story is just so cool. Any other Please Save My Earth Fans? What are your thoughts on it? Did you like the main coupling? (Arisu and Rin) |
This is probably my all time favorite manga. It wasn't the first manga I ever read- the first I read was KOR. I actually saw the OAV before I read the manga. I have been in love with the series ever since. I went out and purchased the tankobon and got the scripts so I could actually read it. I also have a copy of the scanslations. This is one of the few manga to make me cry despite the fact that it wasn't really sad. I cried when I found out that the machine Shion had built did nothing more than play an image of Mokuren's song so the moon base would be covered in life.
I noticed that the artwork really evolved through the series. At first it was honestly only mediocre, but as the series progressed, the artistry really grew in both detail and in style. I think this evolution of the artwork helps illustrate the evolution of the characters even if it wasn't really intentional. My favorite bits from the manga are the stories from their home world. I like how you see that Mokuren was a bit of a rebel- though no one else on the crew saw her that way. I love how she and Mood (also called Lian Mode) get along and the woman helps Mokuren in her little rebellions- even going to school. |
Yeah, I noticed that she got better with her art as time went on too ^^ You should see what her art looks like now, it's so different O_O. I agree, Mokuren was a total rebel. I personally liked both the stories, the one on earth was a bit more interesting to me, but I suppose that's cause I'm a bit weird. I thought it was so sweet that he built such a machine! It was so cute of him

I haven't had the opportunity to read it yet. Though it was one of those mysteriously popular manga/ anime's back in the day of it's fan hight in the '90's. So as you can see I've been waiting a very long time to read and see this.

I actually just finished this manga series this weekend! I loved it.
It started off a bit slow but it became very interesting as you read on. I found the saddest part to be Shion's death. {spoiler} To be so alone for so long would be terrible. I would have gone mad. But it was because he wanted to see Mokuren in the next life that he didn't kill himself to just end his pain.I loved the deep plot in the relationship between Shion and Mokuren. |
Hi Fuuymi. I didnt read the manga of "Please Save my Earth". But I definitely watched the anime version of it, and its totally great. I love this anime and even its story line. I love the art as well though its old. The main lead character is beautiful as well as the main leading man. I think they should revised an anime on that for further development on its animation. I have watched it again and again, its like 10 times i think?hehehe
