I started reading it when they sold it at BAM...but they since stopped carrying it. I suppose it was because of the mature content. Here is the wikipedia entry for it :
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_River_(manga)
The story line is cliche a bit, but the art is so unique and beautiful. It is a good find for anyone wanting a shoujo manga. There are twenty-eight volumes, I think currently number twenty-seven has just been released. Im not sure though, I haven't been able to purchase any more since vol twenty five. It would make a good anime though, or at least in my opinion. =3

If you liked Red River, I would recommend checking out Fushigi Yugi. The anime is awesome, and they still sell the manga in the stores. There are 18 volumes of the manga. The last two volumes make up the OVA series of the Anime. You will fall in love with all the characters..they grow on you.
@ Lady Luck: Which one Red River or Fusghi Yugi?

Both. I think I'll look up the anime for Fushigi Yugi as well.

If you liked anotolia story i would recomend reading Boys over flowers. It dosent have as much action but at least the story line it self is happier, i mean last time i cheched im failry certain no one gets killed in any way shape or form.

I read the first volume of Red River because I bought it, but now I can't find it anywhere in my area. I have only read some of Boys over flower and watched some of the anime for Fushigi Yugi.

i also read the series on onemanga... and i am going to be totally honest in saying that i liked ramses better lol... but i thought the ending just kinda happened abruptly... i mean, i was glad it was finally over (as it seemed to just keep going on) but i liked it enough to wish it had a better ending...

You should read it. I liked it until the plot kept going in the same direction for the first couple of volumes.

I know what you mean! He was... sexy!!! But i dont think he wouldeve been one of the guys who would only stick with one girl, if some one pushed him into it otherwise. Also i dont want this to be a spoiler...so ummm dang
(SPOLIER)
Hes alwasy trying to rape her or something... and as cute as that is in a manga, its not in real life. No one who dosent love you should be forced to do something as that, that why at the end the blond was proved to be more of a man. From backing down from the fight and going back to his actully battle, it proves it more by him not trying to rape her ever.

I love Red River. Prince Kail is so adorable. <3
The story is awesome too. I like story's that make references to Egypt or ancient civilizations. [I'll say this too, I love Yu-Gi-Oh, the first series. Not GX or 5D] I'm such a history geek.
But all my favorite characters keep dying. D: It's rather depressing. But I keep reading more.
I haven't finished it yet. I like owning a manga series to the end. Its just a personal thing, I suppose. So many volumes though. @ [email protected];;;
Is there an anime yet? D:

I really liked it, it reminded me quite alot of Ouke No Monshou, except the girl in Red River is MUCH better, thats the only negitive thing about Ouke No Monshou compared to red river, i'm also glad that in the story it wasn't a "tug-of-war" of love, I don't like those kind of stories where the girl character is thrown all over the place and the guy characters rae like "OMG SHE'S BEAUTIFUL!!! ... MINE!" XD

I like it much better than Daughter of the Nile. The main character is more mature and realistic.
