D: Which is sad because he's been my favorite character ever since he appeared, asleep with his face flat in the plate of food he was eating...

Shanks is cool. I'm wondering if he'll make an appearance into the battle they're in right now. Nearly all the 'head honchos' are there, like this huge power gathering, makes me anticipate more old familiar characters to appear.

Fading [email protected] That's so sad Dx Ace is fucking awesome! The narcoleptic attacks are some of his funniest moments. I thought it was hillarious when all the people at that restaurant were all freaking out because they thought he died xDDD That episode is still one of my favorites. The episode following was just awesome because of the epic battle between Ace and Smoker. And then that Ace destroyed those ships that were going after the Strawhats with one attack. <3 that was epic beyond reason. I'd like to see any other character do that...well...minus Mihawk. Dracule is epic. <3 Anyways...yeah. All my friends who are into One Piece love Ace. D: I feel bad for you *huggles*

I just bought volume 3 all i need now is volumes 4-9 and 14-22.

All their fruit powers are awesome. I kind of wonder how Luffy is going to continue growing stronger than all his opponents because in truth, his Rubber fruit isn't all that powerful compared to the Phoenix, element, creature, etc...

it's true that his power isn't that strong, but i think that it's his determination and his heart, that makes his power stronger than the rest. even if the series isn't over yet, you know, i know, everyone whose read one piece knows, that Luffy is going to be the king of the pirates. we all know, it's just the anticipation to see how its going to happen and of course everything else that keeps us all reading and watching.

True that! And he has that special 'ki' or whatever it's called (forgot the name of it in English already x__x), I read somewhere that it's usable against elementals. If Luffy can learn to use it, he'll become really powerful soon. But by the time he becomes the pirate king, One Piece'll probably be at around volume 100 or something XD;

u're right, it probably will be. though i wonder what will happen after he becomes king of the pirates. i hope that the series won't just end. i'm kinda hoping that something happens afterwards, like some strong, long lost, went into hiding until a strong opponent appears, pirate comes out of hiding to challenge luffy or something like that. i think that would be an awsome idea.

Hmm...seems a bit cliche to me >_< I'd prefer if he becomes the pirate king, and then the series ends with him continuing his adventure with his Straw Hat crew, to create a path for future generations of pirates, and continue to explore the world. Still cliche, but more to my taste XD;

it would be interesting to see if something would happen in the distant future. like some sort of legendary treasure more than one piece or like i don't know, just something more is going to be found or remembered or something. but it probably won't happen that way. lol

I'm curious about the 'weapon' the world government seems so desperate to cover up. Maybe that is the One Piece Gold Roger was talking about?

...And Oda's on break again, it's going to be another two weeks before the next chapter comes out :(
I'm pretty sure it's going to be more battling chaos though :XD Whitebeard (of which I always type into Whitebread :gonk:) is finally charging out himself! Though fatally wounded. I wonder if he'll survive the battle in the end. If he doesn't, the pirate world would no doubt become even messier than ever with people clamoring to claim the title of the next so-called 'strongest man/pirate in the world'.

@Belle: I read One Piece on Onemanga.com and there was an announcement around a week ago saying that Oda's on break again. So one more week to go before the next chapter of One Piece. :(

the newest chapter is awesome. Whitebeard is truly powerful, even when wounded.

Hi! Um. I'm a bit new to One Piece, but I'm in an awkward spot. I know what's happening currently, because I live with someone who's reading it. But myself, I'm only up to chapter 250ish in the manga. So I know what's happened up til then, and what's currently going on, but there's a big gap in my knowledge in between there. I'm trying really hard to catch up! haha

I think my favorite favorite thing about One Piece is how well done the relationships between characters are. Especially Luffy, Usopp, and Chopper. They're just so precious xD

Indeed, I love how all the characters have something unique in their personality that makes them so funny or interesting! Whether it be a funny saying ("Heso! Heso!"), or something random in their personality such as doing funny movements at the randomest of times, it all gives more character to the characters. :XD

Chopper is one of my favorites of the Luffy group. He's pretty popular here too, there's vendors selling his hat everywhere on the streets if you know where to look :lol:

I think it's mostly the fact that One Piece is a hard series to get into. I remember when I first watched on Cartoon Network, I didn't really like it then because I thought it just seemed like an overly goofy series, and the art was very...sketchy...it was just very weird...and it was a turn off for me for a while...but a little while back I somehow got into it again, and then I started to see that it was actually a very good series. :yes:

Well, that's true...I remember first seeing them in manga magazines and thinking how horrible the art looked and since the chapter I looked into was in the middle of the series, I had no clue what was going on and got bored easily. But a few years later it was starting to get really popular and I thought, heck, why not, I have a lot of free time on my hands and I might as well try it out. Turns out to be one of the best decisions I've ever made in selecting a manga.

The battle's heating up...I hope Luffy's alright; he's all beaten up and half-dead, not to mention Ivanokov's (sp?) hormone aftereffects haven't even started on him yet. x__x

I was about to make a One Piece thread cause I couldn't believe that there wasn't one! I don't care if someone hasn't made a post in forever, I'm totally obsessed with this series so I want to talk about it!

I can't get enough of One Piece. I used to read it on and off in Shounen Jump but never really got into it. After getting fed up with how disgusting Naruto was turning out, I went to go look for new series to read. I remembered about One Piece and read up to where Sanji became part of their crew then I stopped again to read some DUMB series cause my friends liked them. One Piece called me back one more time and then I finally started to enjoy it. I spent my whole two week Christmas break catching up on it, they had just entered Impel Down around that time.

To prove how radical this series is, I love almost every character! (cept Blackbeard, CAN'T STAND HIM!) That's NEVER happened before, I usually only end up liking one or two people throughout the whole series. My favorite Strawhat has to be Franky. Who can NOT like a robotic man who is charged up on COKE? I MEAN RLY? As the series goes on, my top other favorite characters change. Right now I'm in love with Buggy, Whitebeard, Ace, Garp, Macro, and Jimbei.

I don't want to talk much about what's going on in the manga for those who only follow the anime but A LOT has happened since the last post made in this thread. In such little time too!

Going more into how much I love this series, Oda is a GLORIOUS MAGICAL MAN! All the things he comes up with, I'm always dying for the newest update every week! I love how he also makes everything connect even in little ways and how he brings back old characters into the story. I used to HATE Buggy but ever since Impel Down he is one of my most favorite characters ever!

Oda does such a fabulous job with everyone's stories, I've cried so many times while reading/watching. Yes, I'm admitting I've cried over this series and I don't care about it. Chopper's back story was probably the worst time I've cried, it was so touching/cute/sad. I know this is 'just a cartoon' but really I can't see it that way, Oda does such excellent work that I think of it as so much more.

I love One Piece so much! My favorite manga series EVER. Weech, my best friend, bugged me to read it. When I finally did, I was HOOKED! I had to do a lot of catching up but it was so worth it.

I love it so much because the characters are so deep and have detailed stories. You can grow attached to them really easily and I love that! I really love the art style as well, it's not like all the other dumb anime/manga out there.

I really love almost every character, even most of the villains. For example, Crocodile. I hated him at first but lately he's become SO AWESOME and one of my favorites . Same with other villains like Buggy, or Mr. 3. I guess the only characters I really DON'T like would be Hancock, Blackbeard (he is ugly and gross), and Sentomaru.

I also sort of dislike Nami too but she is cool sometimes...

But anyway, even though I basically like all the characters I still have some that I like more . I really love Luffy even though I usually HATE the main character. He reminds me a lot of myself. I love how he always is ready to BUST HEADS for his friends and that he is so silly . Next I reallly like Franky. He is RADICAL. I really like Brooke too, oh and Usopp. I basically really like the ones that are really silly.

I also really like how strong and detailed the story is . I love how it can really suck you so far in that you are almost in tears when a character dies or something sad happens. I respect Oda so much for that because it's not really easy. Good I love this series so much.

That's pretty much how I ended up becoming engrossed in One Piece ^_^ The story is just amazing and I'm always surprised at how lovable the characters are. Same as you though, I hate Black Beard. And now the Marines...though objectively, they weren't doing anything wrong >_>; I just dislike them because I'm biased as Ace is my favorite character. > w >;

Franky is funny! I was all 'wtf?' when I saw that he used Coke as fuel! And I loved the part where Chopper gave him tea and vegetable juice and he went all weird XD

I'm always on my tiptoes waiting for the next chapter release as well! If the ending is good (whenever that will be...XD), I plan on saving up and buying the entire series as a collection <3

Sadly most of my friends don't seem to be interested in One Piece much, I don't know why D: But I guess part of the reason's because they like 'pretty' people and Oda's style of drawing isn't the 'pretty' style my friends like <_< >_>;

I caught up on One Piece through rental book shops and Onemanga, it took me a looong time and several days of burning the midnight candle (up to four or six in the morning XD) before I finally reached the last updated chapter, but it was totally worth it. I crashed after that though. XD;

Oda's cool like that. He can create characters that seem like the worst a**hole in the world when they first show up, then in later series, the person turns out not to be that bad after all and gain a bunch of fans from readers. Or vice versa. Not many mangakas can manage that so flawlessly.

And I agree about the main character thing...I usually hate all the main characters in the series that I read for some reason, but for Luffy, I love the guy XD (well not literally) He's so funny and hot-headed. But after that last chapter, I'm worried about how he's going to take the news.

Those last two chapters...it was probably the only time I wanted to smack Oda ; -;
