I just finished watching Tora Dora last night and I was quite surprised. When i first heard the title and began watching it, I thought it was some light-hearted romance comedy where drama is minimal. But not even midway through, it began getting serious and I was just like, "wow what a misleading title". The title makes you think of something funny right?

I won't go into exact details about what went on in the anime but I felt that this was one of the few short anime series that had a satisfactory ending. It didn't just end with Taiga leaving to go back to her mom but actually ended with them reuniting. Though I'm still confused whether they are still engaged. :?:

I'm happy that Ryuuji and Taiga reunited in the end but throughout the whole series, I kind of wished that Ryuuji and Minori would be together instead. I watched the kiss scene from the last episode before starting the series so I already knew it was going to be RyuujiXTaiga but I even now that I finished watching, I wished it was RyuujiXMinori.

Ryuuji had liked Minori from the beginning and it turned out that Minori liked him too. I felt bad for Minori because they could've had a chance if it weren't for the circumstances. I don't hate Taiga for coming in between them, I mean she did try her best to set Ryuuji and Minori up at the end.

So I give it a 8/10. I knocked off two points because it wasn't the best romance anime I've ever seen but it was still really good. It had a satisfactory ending and the story didn't dawdle on love comedy sketches too much.

I'm loving the second OP too. :love:
