Does Anyone Here Read/Watch Seinen or Josei Stuff?
 

I'm wondering if anyone here reads or watches Josei or Seinen demographic mangas and animes? It's meant for 18-30 year old women (Josei) and men (Seinen).
I don't believe so much in sticking to the demographic "walls." I mean, I like Naruto and Fruits Basket, but I also really like a bunch of titles from these demographics.

I have heard that these are not popular in the Western Hemisphere because people keep thinking that comic books are just for kids, which I think is a shame anyway - what's immature about enjoying visual art and good storytelling in one go?
Anyway, so do you read/watch Josei/Seinen? Here are a couple examples:

Azumanga Diaoh was meant for older men? :o

I have no doubt that I've watched/read and enjoyed anime/manga meant for older demographics, but I don't usually pay attention to the category they belong to, so I can't really speak of any specifics. This has me curious though, so I might check up on some of my favorites. :)

EDIT: Basing this purely off of the list Wikipedia has, these are the seinen manga/anime I've read/watched:

They list Azumanga Diaoh as shonen, or else it'd be on my list too. :) Sadly their josei list was very short, so I hadn't seen any of the titles listed.

I adore Dogs: Bullets & Carnage. Which is odd becuase I don't usually like anything that violent. I like Black Lagoon and Gankutsuou too.
I'm not sure what else I read would be considered seinen or josei.

Yeah!!! I'm not alone! Normally, when I mention a lot of the stuff I watch/read people just stare at me, and I'm like, "Do you just read Bleach?"

I know that a lot of slice-of-lifes involving chicks is seinen. Like Hidamari Sketch! Man I like that show! It's so cute, too! I was uber surpised to hear that was seinen. Here's a pic to show how adorable everything looks (except for the principal who is uber creepy looking O.o))

BTW: I don't read manga online for free. I just googled "azumanga diaoh seinen" b/c I knew I read that somewhere . . .

Uber creepy old men with cute young girls seems to be a pattern. :lol: A little concerning, honestly.

LOL. It IS concerning. Man. I'm just glad it's not dirty. If I knew it was for adult men when I first started watching it - well, I probably wouldn't have watched it - Thinking it was pervy. I'm just noticing your avatar is really pretty. *-* You look like spring and candy.

I was very surprised for some of the titles listed as seinen. Then again, since the source was Wikipedia, it's entirely possible that some things were mislabeled.

I've only read a couple of Josei and Seinen, I can't remember any of the Josei but i'm pretty sure that Zetman is a Seinen, sadly I never finished Zetman. :/ Gankutsuou was freakin' amazing though I like LOVE that manga and the anime too. :)
