What type of anime people do you like?
Cute, Loud, Angry, Stong, what do you like in an anime character? :)
|
The type of anime character that I like the most are the kind, but shy type because they're the type that I can understand the most. I also like the mysterious type.
|
I like a mysterious character, especially if they are kind of shy too but I love characters like Shigure from Fruits Basket and Tamaki from Ouran High School Host Club, they're just mad. Cute, loud characters are cool too. Like Yotsuba from Yotsuba&!.
|
Hmm...so many options. Well I love anime characters that are strong but not in an in your face kinda way, that gets on my nerves way too much! But then again even if they're not that strong I'll like them. The bad guys are usually awesome and I love them but good guys are good sometimes too if done right. For example Lelouch Vi Brittania! Insult him and DIE!!!!!!!!!!! Same goes for Toshiro Hitsugaya and Ulquiorra Cifer! Those are characters I absolutely LOVE!!!!!!
Weak characters annoy me SO much! And it's not even that they're weak that annoys me! It's what they do! I mean, I can't STAND Orihime Inoue from Bleach because she's just so...UGH!!!!!! I mean, she's so weak minded and pathetic but if she put her mind to it she could be a very strong character but she doesn't! It annoys me to no end! Some characters are in the middle though like Suzaku Kururugi from Code Geass. Sometimes I love him and other time I wanna bash his head against a brick wall cuz he's being an idiot!!!!! -sweatdrops- Gomen, went on a bit of a rant there. Sorry! |
Totally agree with you on Orihime, Magician girl, she annoys me so much!
|
@Magician Girl Mirani: Agreed.
I like characters like Rukia the most where they can argue with "people" but at the same time be serious when needed to. Weak Cry babies annoy me, to some extent, not all of them. Like Koizumi Risa from Lovely complex, yeah she can be annoying but she's also strong and serious when needed to. She's quite realistic too. ^^ |
Yes! -grins- Glad you agree! I mean, I wouldn't mind Inoue QUITE so much if she didn't make herself so pathetic! It's not that she's weak that annoys me cuz if she WANTED to be and actually put some EFFORT into it then she COULD be a strong character but she DOESN'T!!!!!!! All she does is stand there and cry "Kurosaki-kun! Kurosaki-kun!"
Rukia is an awesome character no doubt! She's a very strong character and awesome! I love Yoruichi and Urahara as well! How can you not???? I HATE Yamamoto though!!!!! He Must DIE!!!!!!!! I hate old men that have too much power and are just so...ugh! I'm not good at explaining it but I hate him, the same way I hate Charles Zi Brittania from Code Geass! |
I like a lot of different manga/anime, but the main thing that I want is to be able to smile or laugh when I read/watch it. ^^ I adore characters that make me laugh, yet can be serious when need be.
|
It really depends. I tend to like characters that I could relate to: Childish, clumsy, misunderstood ones .w.
|
strong female characters that can take people out. Robin, Motoko, Kos-Mos, etc. ♡ |
I like the quiet and mysterious type of character, like the one in fruits basket, toruh's bestfriend the one with weird power...and also the other bestfriend I think her name is Arisa??
I don't like the "fan girl" type of anime character...hehhe pretty annoying! I have very girly taste for a guy! >< |
Gotta agree with you fangirls ARE very annoying!!!!!! It's why I don't like Sakura AT ALL from Naruto!!!!!!!!!! -growls- DIE PINKY DIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
|
I like characters who can be really serious but also really funny, like Kakashi from Naruto or Uryuu from Bleach. That way you can get really emotionally invested in the character, but they can make you laugh too.
|
LOVE Kakashi...not so keen in Ishida though. He annoys me but why that is I'm not quite sure. I hate Yamamoto more than I hate Ishida though...the old man just annoys me SO much!!!!!!! Plus when he takes his upper layers off and shows his upper body...it creeps me out!!!!!!!!! I will not lie it does creep me out!!!!!!!! I just don't see why he has to do that!

Hm, this is a good question. I never really stopped to think about why I liked a certain character and what it was about them that made me like them. I just went along with the fact that I just happened to like that character.
I guess the only real answer I can give on what I like in a character is them being well made and balanced. Because there are several characters that are all different that it's hard for me to just pin point and say, "I like such and such type of characters". One example of a character I like is America / Alfred F. Jones from the Axis Powers: Hetalia series. He is quite the goofball / idiot and he is full of laughs (meaning he's humorous). :) But at the same time, he knows when it's time to be serious and he's no longer the loud and obnoxious character you come to see him as through out most of the series. Another example of a character that I like is Ciel Phantomhive from the Kuroshitsuji series. He's only twelve (beginning) / thirteen (story progression) and yet he acts far more mature than any adult I've ever met. For the most part, he's filled with such hate and rage that makes me want to hug him, already knowing why he's like that. Ciel only ever gets loud when he's shouting out of anger at someone or he's calling Sebastian for help. The boy is nothing but "serious business" all the time. The only time he ever seems to pull out a smile (possibly fake ones) is when he's having a sweet scene with his fiancée Elizabeth. |
I don't know why but I tend to be drawn to the openly gay crossdressers (Aka. Can anyone say Nuriko?)
|
Hmm...interesting. Which anime are you talking about? I need to look into this! I like more feninine characters but that're guys, I can't help it! For example Lelouch!!!!! He is so feninine at times!!!!!!! Not to mention stick him in a dress and he'd look like a perfect girl!!!! It's so cute!!!!!!!!!! :squee: :squee: :squee:
I have become a fangirl....-bangs head on table- I am so dissappointed in myself but I can't help it! |
I don't like it if a character is just there for childish humour. And one character type I'm getting bored of is the Idiot Hero who wants To Be A Master of whatever the show is about. I see so many of them, and their designs are so similar... They can be done well, but I've seen many such character who are poorly thought out lately.
|
I have to say I agree with you there. I mean, some characters can be very good and brilliant and they add a lot to a show but others...it just seems pathetic the way they're created and really you want to be interested in the main character at least a little or the show isn't worth watching a lot of the time as the minor characters that you DO like aren't shown nearly enough!
|
Sighs! I love bisshies! Bishounens that will know how to sweep a girl off her feet! That probably means the entire cast of Ouran is pure love to me. I love how they can say the most outrageous and in your face pick up lines and it could still make a girl melt! And the way they walk dress and sniff a flower's fragrance! Everything about a bishounen character, you know can never be pulled off in real life but you wish it could!
Well, if we girls can't get the charm of a bisshie, probably a more kakkoii one like from yami no matsuei. Well, I guess they could be considered bisshie too but more matured and well, yaoi? LOL! Yaoi characters seem to be able to attract girls more than straight characters can somehow... Maybe a better example for kakkoii character would have to be Rukawa from Slam Dunk? Quiet, cool and calm but somehow manages to be funny at some times as well :) Also, the cute girl kind, super kawaii but not too annoying. Hmm, I guess I don't really like chibi styled anime which rules out a lot of kawaii girls but I do like the girls from lovely idol (Rabudoll) and also the girls from Idolmaster. |
Gotta agree with you about the bishounens! :squee: :squee: :squee: :squee: :squee: LELOUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
|
I typically like all types, some more than others.
I like characters that are airheads or are psychotic in a cute, but creepy way. But on a more serious note, I love characters that are loyal and driven beyond belief. Hate it when they do that with two guys and make it into Yaoi. Not that I have anything against Yaoi, but...I really appreciate strong friendship that shows. Not just some underlying romance all the time. |
I can see where you're coming from and it's nice to see something different rather than just the same thing over and over again and that typically happens with romances but with friendships it can get a bit more complicated. (Example, Code Geass) so that makes it more interesting but there's still the possibility and if fans wanna see it that way then there's always fanfiction.
