WHAT?! There is no thread for Lackadaisy here? I must rectify this!

Lackadaisy

Lackadaisy is an amazing webcomic set in the Prohibition Era, particularly in St. Louis. It follows a crew by the name of Lackadaisy who peddles in booze to their speakeasy.

But times are hard on the Lackadaisy crew, and the once bustling speakeasy is only able to keep the most loyal of customers, which is to say... not many.

But things get a little more interesting when Rocky, the gin and whisky runner for Lackadaisy, brings his cousin Freckle into the fray.



Now, the first thing you may notice is that they are all cats. This is because Tracy Butler finds them must more capable of expressing emotion in her style. And I have to say it makes everything much more interesting!

And she is also shown her work, everything has amazing detail and is almost historically accurate, save for e few moments when she actually points out that this is not accurate and apologizes.

Oh my lord. Best comic ever. It's just so detailed and beautiful and full of cats shooting things. I have a lackadaisy club pin. I have the book. I have a small obsession.

Sometimes I get the feeling she would rather be writing the comic about Mordecai and Viktor though. Can't blame her I guess, Rocky can be a little repetitive. My favorite character is Freckle, second favorite being Ivy. Yours?

I adore Freckle, he's just so... I don't think it's the right word, but cute and sweet. And I kinda... REALLY like Morecai. I don't even know why though. I think it's his general personality, it somewhat draws me in. I also Wick and Mitzy.

Ivy, Viktor, and Rocky are also characters I like, but not as much as the others. There is just something in the personalities that draw me to the others I suppose.

Mordecai's such a classy guy, how can you not like him. It's kind of funny how the cats fit anime archetypes more so than normal comic book ones. Sedgewick is hilarious....

I wish I could find a comic like lackadaisy, though! Loveable characters and a compelling story do not often go hand in hand. The dialogue is just so fantastic.

I've always been interested in that part of time and the fact that it has cats...well...I'm sold!

I heard about Lackadaisy a long time ago, and was watching the artist on dA, but never got around to reading it until recently. And I love it. x3 The art is amazing, and I'm curious as to what's going to happen next. ^^

I keep trying to get into Lackadaisy but it just doesn't work for me! I love the art style, and the fact that it's all cats doesn't bother me. To be honest, I'm not sure what it is that bugs me about it. I might give it another try. Sometimes that's all it takes, and it DOES look interesting..

Oh I love Lackadaisy. Wow I can't believe there hasn't been a thread before?! I know that this is the easy way out of discussion but I really just love all the cats, the comic is great!
