I think my top favorite three anime series are Elfen Lied, Pokemon, and Sailor Moon. However, Higurashi no Naku Koro ni was pretty rad, and it's up there in my favorites. As for movies, the Hiyazaki films - Howl's Moving Castle, Spirited Away, My Neighbor Totoro, and the like! :D

I know there all a little cliche, but the movies are favourites of many for a reason. I really loved the art style of the first two anime movies, and the story of Howl's Moving Castle.

Edit: Actually, of course, my favourite anime movie would have to be Paprika, can't believe I forgot about it. Then Summer Wars and The Girl Who Leapt Through Time. I seriously could watch Paprika nonstop. It's also the only anime movie I bought.
