Pretear

Okay, as much as I hate to admit it, half the reason I love this anime is the music.

Basically it's another one of those cutesy ridiculous Magical Girl animes. xD
I do love it though. ^^

It's about this girl Himeno who's mother died and her father is a crazy struggling artist who gets remarried to a very rich woman with two very spoiled daughters, neither of which really get along with Himeno.
And then Himeno meets this guy (the male love interest) who thinks she's a ditz, even though she has the power to be a Pretear.

It's very cute and childish, but regardless I like it. Totally worth looking up if you're into magical girl animes. :)

^ That's the Pretear opening by the way, it gets really stuck in your head...xD

Seems pretty cute, I admit I do really like the intro, I'll have to give it a try sometime. :)

I really love Pretear. It's probably the only Magical School Girl anime I'll take seriously. Himeno is a rare find because she's actually an interesting hero...unlike most of the bimbos that pollute the anime realm. The manga is completely different from the anime in the way that it goes through the story. D: It's alittle bit sadder in certain areas. I also love the soundtrack, I own one of the soundtracks- it has pretty artwork on it. Kei is win. That is all.

I found the manga on sale second hand for a dollar a volume, so I bought a chunk of it up, and I have to say it's really cute. I like the different characters and the interactions between them; it's just a very fresh sort of picture of human relationships.

I think I might give this anime a try. I might have to re-try Sailor Moon as well.

When I was younger, I was always all, "EW, GIRLY ANIME GAAAH GET IT AWAY!". But now, I don't care too much as long as the series is interesting. Princess Tutu was pretty girl-ish and I thought that was a good series.

I know what you mean. I used to be really into mecha and didn't want anything to do with the magical girl anime, but not so much anymore. It's really just as good.

I did like Pretear, it was really cute and short enough that you didn't get sick of the cuteness. Himeno's character wasn't bad at all for what you'd come to expect from most heroine figures in this era. I didn't like the whole Takako thing, but it was still an interesting part of the story.

If you do try Sailor Moon, skip the first 2 seasons. They're really not that good, but the last 3 seasons are really good.

I remember I watched the first episode of Pretear a looong time ago, and I never watched past it. I think I liked it so some degree, so I'll have to try that out again.

Is that the one where the girl like combines with the members of her group and they give her the magical powers? I saw a bunch of that awhile back and really loved it....that was back when I had anime network on demand. And it was on there. I never saw the end though....I should look into that one.
