Princess Tutu
My friend just started running a show on pub acc, showing old animes in the original Japanese, rather than dubbed the way they usually are on American TV. One of the ones she is showing is Excel Saga, which I know ran in English not that long ago, but she is also showing Princess Tutu. Has anyone else seen this one? Princess Tutu looks like your average 'magical girl' series, but it is completely warped!

I tried watching it once, I found it really odd. I might try again sometime, since I was a bit younger when I watched it. I was into magical girl, so I was expecting a more typical magical girl anime. XD

I watched a bit of this series.
I had found it on my on demand in the anime section, was bored, and decided to try it. I found myself surprised in liking it. Unfortunately I wasn't able to finish, and I'm planning to start it up again if possible. |
It is a nice series, I think you friend will like it. Especially Mytho. Rawr. There is lots of cuteness and tragic backstories and such....
But be warned: this anime is a mindf**k and a big ole butthurt. |
Oh my gosh yes! I remember it was YEARS ago(well over four or five) when I first saw the series. My cousin had just gotten a new cable/satellite television provider, and now had Anime on Demand. I watched it and fell in love. However I never managed to finish it. :' ( Imagine my joy when I found that anime on demand has a youtube channel, and of their free animes, Princess Tutu is one of them! I finally finished it and it was still bittersweet. Spoiler/Embarassement alert \/ I cried. >___>; |

Princess Tutu has always made me smile. The music is really great and I think that the characters, especially the Neko dance teacher is absolutely hilarious.
I think it's a very deep anime when you actually look at it, the search for emotion and the black haired girl's (can't remember her name) love for Mute. I would for sure suggest it to others who like more original animes |
THe people above pretty much all listed what I have to say about this anime it's funny really tragic has these weird twists that you would never ever in a lifetime expect and on top of that the climax and finale is like Epic...I mean it...
