Deepest Anime

Wats the deepest anime that you've ever seen. Also please explain your reasonings and why you like, and if you don't like it please explain as well.

Deep as in complex? I guess Neon Genesis Evangelion and End of Evangelion. The characters might not be exactly likable but they're far from being one dimensional (which I do like) and it's one of those anime that gets your brain working since it's not spoon-feeding the audience everything. I actually wrote my paper for my psych class about the hedgehog's dilemma and avoidant personality disorder with Shinji Ikari being used as an example.

I think the deepest anime I've ever seen was Mononoke -not princes mononoke- I fell in love with the strange art and I spent half the time lost because some of the imagery was so complex that I was left thoroughly confused. The medicine man, he's the main character, is actually a spin off from another anime, which I have yet to see. He plays such a strange character and he talks kind of strange sometimes but I love him so! I'm not sure how many episodes their are now but when I saw it it was six long. I do warn you, the art is very different and might put you off, or you'll fall in love with it like I did.

Deep as in complex as well as one that you wouldn't think was very deep at all. Taking Cowboy Bebop for instance. I watched it several times only thinking it was a regular anime but after listening to the sound track and letting my now matued mind to sit and analyze the show. I have to admit it has now become a favorite. That and Wolf's Rain.
