Discussing old animes?

Tell me what's your favorite all time fav anime from back in the day.
Mine would be Pokemon, and DBZ.

I think of the older anime Sailor Moon had the biggest impact on me in terms of a sudden change in drawing style...but in terms of story I like Cardcaptor Sakura...which in fact I still haven't finished...the anime version I watched was called Cardcaptors, and was rather poorly done but I could see potential in the original story so I started reading the manga.

Hello nostalgia thread. Quite a few awesome oldies (I grew up watching just about all of the things mentioned, and Sailor Moon was my first anime), but let us not forget the original Mobile Suit Gundam.

Oooh Mobile Suit Gundam, I think I had watched the original, Or the Mobile suit gundam wing. Another favorite is Escaflowne series.

I started with Sailor Moon and Samurai Pizza Cats. Then my best friend would get anime from her dad every weekend from china town. He picked up what he thought was Pokemon The First Movie but.... Well let's just say it was super grown up for us young eyes. Even though we did watch it all the way through. Yes her parent's never previewed the anime or watched with us lol! I sadly can't say the name of the anime because it's too grown up for 13 to 17 year olds.

LOL, it makes me crack up seeing Pokemon and DBZ as "back in the day." Not that I'm an anime oldster or anything, having cut my teeth on Sailor Moon before realizing it was even anime, and then not really getting back into it until 2007, but now that I research it, I've seen a lot of older anime that are really great, like Glass Mask (the 1984 version). And did you realize that Urusei Yatsura actually began in 1981? For movies, I absolutely adore Night on the Galactic Railroad (1985), which is much better after you've read the novel. And Mamoru Oshii's first major directorial attempt, Patlabor, is from 1989, as is Kiki's Delivery Service.

If you're needing recommendations for early anime films, just ask me!

It's funny Kiki's Delivery Service got my sister adicted to anime. Though I can't really show her much she loves Kiki and Ponyo so much~ I wish I knew more kid anime I could show her.

Pokemon was my favorite~

Cowboy Bebop and Big O were my favorites when I was just getting into anime, though I wouldn't call them old.

I really loved Sailor Moon, but I didn't realize that anime was a thing back then. I'm too dang young, haha.
