I'm an Avatard too- this show has so many things that many anime don't come close to, and most American cartoons can't even dream of. Strong characters, richly detailed environment, a sense of continuity... Avatar is bringing back animation as serious an art form and not just something for kids.

Avatar the Last Airbender... There is so much I could say about this show, (which isn't an anime, by the way). The character development sucks, the dialogue is cheesy, and the plot and the characters are cliché, the random attempts at humor are often pathetic and how many times can I say plot device! I don’t understand what all the excitement for it is all about.

This isn't a real anime. I still watch it, but it's one of the worse shows that I'll see each week. I mean... it's not terrible, but it really does have some problems. Like... HUGE flaws.

As American animated shows go, Avatar surprised me by how good it was. It was so throughly researched to create a fully developed rich world. I love all the influences from Asian (and other) cultures they have in the show - from martial art styles, to types of calligraphy, to philosophies. It adds a depth to the show that few American (or Japanese) shows achieve.
The character development throughout the course of the show is also something that is done well. Aang has gone from a goofy little boy to a talented and serious boy who has accepted his destiny. Katara has gone from someone who dabbled in an ancient art to a true waterbending master. Sokka has gone from just the comic relief to being a leader. Toph has gone from a quiet, rebellious girl to a strong supportive warrior. Zuko has gone from a pouty exiled prince to someone who is ready to forge his own path based on his own ideas. Just to name the main few. |
I was really suprized about how much research went into the show. You usually don't get this from American cartoons.

Avatar really surprised me. I thought it was one of those cheap American rip-offs but it isn't, they actually took the time and researched everything before showing it on TV.

SQUEE!!! Sorry, but I'm a die hard avatar fan and to find out that there's a topic about it here just tickles me pink!
I love Toph, Sokka, Momo, and Ty Lee, and my favorite bending type is airbending mostly because I'd love to sneeze and fly ten feet in the air! My favorite pairing is Zuko and Jen, and possibly Tokka, I'm wishy washy on Katang and Zutara, they each have their ups and downs. Also I advoid picking a side on perpous because that's just how I work. My favorite episoides are The Blind Bandit, The Desert, and THE MINISODES!!! I love the tiny characters! <3 I love to talk about it. Avatar is one thing that I can talk about for hours and not get sick of! Also I'm known to drag science and junk into conversations sometimes, if I start doing this feel free to beat me with a wooden spoon. I mean it's a cartoon, cartoons and science don't normally mix. I love the humor in the show, mostly Toph and Sokka (the reason they are my favorite characters). I like the blind jokes a lot as well as cactus juice and the mushroom. |

Avatar is awesome! I had an Avatar marathon with 3 of my friends on the long weekend cause they were sleeping over at my house so we watched it on the computer but we still actually watched it on my tv cause the computer's linked to the tv or something like that XD

Its amazing. Zuko is my favorite character and Azula comes in second. I love fire benders because I always have a thing for evil people. <3 I want new episodes! They left me hanging in the Day of Black Sun episodes. Aang and Katara kissed! Threw my whole day off. xD |
Avatar is bringing American cartoons to the next level, You can tell they spent a lot of time on this show. It's sad though that it only has 8 episodes left. T_T

at first I hated the show but since the kids like it i was Forced to wach it. I must say that it is a real great show...I might buy the dvd's since i have missed alot of the begining eps.

It's strange how the next episode keeps getting delayed again and again. It's been due to come out for weeks, but still hasn't aired. Be nice to know why the airing has been delayed (probably NOT writer's strike related). Be nicer if they picked a release date and stuck with it.

i'm having some problemswith the las book. can't see them all ugh. i wonder how it ends zuko's uncel is my favorit in the hole show. and about it being delaid. they might be stil be redoning the ending. its not what they wan't it to be. how nows. i'm meen ang stil needs to learn fire. where the hck did zuko's uncle ran of to. and what ver happend to zuko's mom, wher did she get baned to. and will zuko see her again. what about zuki and soka. and what about ang an katara. i can see that there having promblems with the end |
Aww i love the avatar. I watch it all the time. i'm waiting for new episodes XD. if there is going to be more. My favorite character is Sokka. He is sooo funny. i also like Appa. it would be cool to have a pet like him. but it might get expensive. haha.

I was SO excited when I saw the previews for Avatar. I adore the ideas of elemental magics, much like in Wheel of Time or as seen in the Golden Sun games.
So, finding an Anime which was nothing but that sort of magic, I was thrilled. What's even better is that the storyline is amazing. The plot is deep and keeps you guessing, unlike many of the cartoons this day and age, as well as meaningful character design. Iroh has to be my favorite character, the mentor archetypes always are, and he fits the bill with aplomb and is witty and funny to boot. |

Actually, I looked for Avatar on youtube once.
I found absolutely -nothing-. I was shocked. Just previews for the third or second season, and clips people made to music. I had to search for a website that showed the full length shows on some other video place, but I had to move computers and I don't have the URL or I would gladly give it to you. U_U Please forgive me. |
