I haven't been watching it for a long time. In fact, I saw it for the first time a few weeks ago. @ [email protected] It's addicting though.
My mom was even watching it and wants to buy the whole first Book. =P
But yeah, awesome show. >.>

Ahahah I love this show, too.
I like how it's not exactly a "kiddy" show, but it doesn't have anything adult-rated in it. :3 It's something that everyone can enjoy x3
The jokes make me laugh, too xDD Even though some are corny.
I think the whole production team that works on it is doing a really great job. The punchlines are at the right times, drama, whatnot.
I never seem to actually catch it on, though, unless I'm just flipping through channels, and see that it's coming up, or already on. :<

I like watching Avatar every now and then and try to keep up with it. (and I don't normally like american "anime"). What I love about it is that it actually has a plot!
It's nothing like the stupid mindless no plot at all cartoons we have now days like Squirrel boy or My Gym Partner is a Monkey.
Avatar isn't the best, but it's a lot better then some. I think the fact that they try and make it more like a "kiddy show" (like keeping everything PG-13 or younger) really holds the show back. I wouldn't mind it getting just a tad bit more violent or have just a little more drama and character depth.

I love Avatar, but I've noticed they try to add too much teenage things into it... mostly in the dating department~ it's like:
"My girlfriend died? Oh, time for a new one! C: "
That annoys me the most, I think~ but the action scenes are simply DEVINE~ I mean, I didn't think they could even make animation look that good O:

I love love love love Avatar! I even got my dad into it! He loves Toph~ I was sort of into it from Book 1, but Toph made me want to continue and get all of it! I really don't really like when people call it an 'American anime' though since it really isn't...It's a series that does have some anime influences, but it isn't especially strong, opposed to like Teen Titans and style-wise it is closer to anime than other series, but is it because people are so focused on all of the Asian influences and just associating it with anime because of that?
*shrugs* Either way I really like it and it is certianly more intellegent than a large percentage of the other American cartoons that are currently out there.

In my cultural anthropology class the teacher talked about how things may be developed in one country but then they get exported to another where it develops even more and bounces back to the place of origin. That was how he explained we had come so far technologically in the last 50 years. But it has been the case with art and basically everything for ages. (i.e. television was developed in U.S. but the Japanese took up on it and took it further - flat screens - dvds - etc)
I really enjoy how the anime style has been exported to other countries and they are taking concepts from it and making it into something even more. I believe Avatar encompasses this natural and fluid culture exchange.
They have martial arts forms and a sort of anime style but have created a separate fantasy world that has its own unique magic style while using seperate and real martial arts schools for each element.
I suggest you check it out Lili! Its something that is worth having the season box set for most likely. *nod*
