Villain or Hero?

In mangas and animes, which character do you uses like more: the villain or the hero?

Name the character, what manga/anime it is from, and why you like good/evil better ^.^

For some reason, I always like the villain more...They are usually better dressed, have cooler names, and are just all-around more attractive than the hero (yes, they are drawings, so what? They can be cute >.<)

stilettolover 03-14-2007 04:03 AM

I'm a sucker for an awesome villain character. I think they do it on purpose...

Keska 03-14-2007 11:01 PM

I'm also a sucker for a good villain. Your hero is only as good as your villain I think. They make things more interesting. Most stories would be pretty boring if they didn't have a good villain.

Shloobi 04-06-2007 07:27 PM

awwwh i like heroes but heroes who mess up and are clutzy XD

Raphael 04-08-2007 10:20 PM

I can't decide.
It's based on hero or villains personality. xP

Alegretto 04-08-2007 10:22 PM

Villains for me. The eviler, the better. So long as they're well thought-out.

Like Crocodile from one Piece. Ho em gee. Best villain EVAR.

Depends on the Show/Book.

In FMA, I like the villians more. In Sailor Moon, I hate Queen Beryl, so I definately like the good guys better.

And in Flame of Recca, I think it is a tie. I mean, I love Recca, but I also like Kurei.

Hmm.♥

Ancasta 04-09-2007 02:55 AM

I like the mad ones and those are usually villains, so there's your answer.

Jitsumi1221 04-09-2007 04:31 AM

i tend to prefer whomever is the comic relief... though lately I've also really really liked the good char with the crap personality ^.~; hum and i cant really think of any that pop up and come to mind?

violetfaerie 04-09-2007 04:35 AM

It depends.

A lot of villians you just like because either you feel sorry for them and their deep dark past, they make you crack up....or they die horrid and you cry.... more than the hero ever did in the book xDDD

But I think most of all...I'll like the hero...every once in a while, I'll fall sucker to a bad guy =333

oi_pinoy 04-09-2007 09:02 AM

Heroes, people who doesn't look like but heroes within.

Envy 04-09-2007 11:26 AM

Villains tend to be more attractive. D:

shutterslut 04-09-2007 12:17 PM

The heros, definately.

Well actually.
It depends on the anime.

Like for FMA I totally liked Lust more then I liked Edward.
If she could be seen as a Villan. |D;

MiroshaxKerry 06-11-2007 01:12 PM

Usually i like's the heros but in the case of Loveless i go for the villian a tinse bit more.

Morien 06-12-2007 07:09 PM

It depends on the series. I tend to like the side-characters more than anything else.

Some Random Randomness 06-12-2007 09:28 PM

Depends.

I'm reading a new manga, Vampire Knight, and the villians are really hot.
So of course I vote for them. Them hot vampires.

But sometimes I also go for the good guy.
Unless it's Death Note, and in that case I love Light and I hate L. And Near, and Mello even thou he/she's also a bad guy. XD

Really just depends.
I use to really like Gaara, but he went good.

Caeluma 06-12-2007 10:18 PM

Most villans looks and act stupid in anime/manga lol at least from what I have seen. Not all I am sure but alot fo them though there are alot of annoying heros too lol

The Mouse 06-13-2007 12:03 AM

It depends. I usually fall in love with villains, but I will get very attached to a good hero with whom I can relate. However, I do agree that the villain of a story, a lot of times, is the catalyst for the hero's growth and development.

Example: DNAngel. I don't want to spoil anything, but DNAngel is a good example of this kind of villain-hero relationship (on multiple levels, I might add ^_^).

Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne is also a good one, although many of you will not have seen the anime, since it's not been licensed yet, nor will have read the end of the manga, 'cause it's not been translated yet either. X-D

[Nitro]Kisses 06-13-2007 06:11 AM

It depends really. Sometimes i like the hero more like Lapis Lazuli in Les bijoux. and sometimes I like the villian more like sesshoumaru and naraku in Inuyasha. It really depends on the character, because some of the villian's just make me go -_-;

IshokuOsero 06-13-2007 09:04 AM

Hmm, that's a hard choice, picking between the villain and the hero of series. xD

I think the answer for me though, is that it really depends on what series. Some villains have to be the most awesome part of some series, but with other series I think the hero is the one who's more favored by me. It really depends on how the story plays out and how the villain and hero interact, that's where I'd choose sides. With some things, the villain makes everything more interesting because the hero's life is ultimately boring. But with other series the hero's pretty awesome and the villain isn't quite added up.

wispytearz 06-14-2007 02:28 PM

I enjoy a good villain or a good hero so long as they're easy to relate to. The kids' show villain who is bad for sake of being bad and wants to be the baddest bad that ever did bad, that's just unrealistic and doesn't appeal at all. Neither does the oh so good, justice and all hero appeal to me. I prefer anti-heroes and antagonists who are just serving their own agendas that happen to conflict.

Yuugito 06-14-2007 03:00 PM

I like the villain better most of the time. Though sometimes I like the hero or one of the side characters the best. It depends on the series.

Tsubasa Rose 06-14-2007 07:23 PM

Who i like depends jus ton the character- buti noticed that some of my favorite manga and anime
the villians aren't really "villians" and the good guys aren't rally "heroes" .
i prefer manga and anime where the line between who's good and bad isn't always clear...
but the animes and manga i read with a more definate- then i more often than not fall for the heoes in all their cheesy glory lol

ToriKat 06-14-2007 07:58 PM

  • It really depends for me. Sometimes I like both.

In Shaman King, guh, Yoh AND Hao are so awesome in their own ways. Them being twins just makes it more fun. >D

In Senkaiden Houshin Engi....I just adore Taikoubou. The villains are mainly the girls...and in general, I don't like girls. So hero wins there.

In a lot of series, the "villain" isn't really evil. It's not clear cut like how a lot of American cartoons and movies are. They're just people with different motives. And depending on them, I can easily be swayed to love the villains more than the heroes. Magic Knights Rayearth, anyone? XD

Mage 06-14-2007 10:33 PM

Villain.

The main character is usually given flaws and all that... leaves room for character growth, y'know? But villains are usually given the upper-hand, so that makes them better, y'know? Less flaws and stuff.
