Sailor Moon! It is what brought me into manga. That and Magic Knights Rayearth.
|
Actually, the very first anime I had ever seen was the Ninja Scroll motion picture because my brother had it on video. He told me never to watch it, but I did anyway and it was SO BLOODY AND AMAZING. And then I started watching Sailor Moon, which I thought was just a regular cartoon at the time. But what really got me into my "otaku phase"? Ranma 1/2, Ah My Goddess, Tenchi Muyo, and Neon Genesis Evangelion. Wow. 90's anime was awesome.
|
My firsts were Sailor Moon, Pokemon, and Digimon, but those were before I knew they were called anime. The first time I was introduced to anime and manga, was in sixth grade, and it was Utena and Inu Yahsa, I think.
|
pokemon was cool i guess but nothing to be inlove with  my firsts was also pokemon ironic isn't it?
|
Anime
-Pokemon -Sailor Moon -Digimon -Dragonball All at the same time I think or around the same time, I don't remember which came first Manga Miracle Girls Which was pretty good for my first manga despite being not very popular, I still think it's really good though :D |
GOTTA CATCH EM ALL POKEMON! XD I used to LOVE that show I have some videos of it but now they just tottally and completely messed up the show but I still like re watching the old episodes. The second one I was introduced to was Sailor Moon! XD My best friend, Iris LOVED Sailor Moon and like owns all of the videos and she was watching it one day when I came over to her house and I got interested and we just watched it the whole time I was there and we also kind of liked making fun of it though cause some parts are very corny :P
|
My first anime I'v been introduced was Sailer Moon and Pokemon.I hated it the first time I watched it.My first manga was Sprited Away. Fell in love with it even though I seen the movie.
|
Probably Naruto. Sad but true. It was advertised extensively, so I just took the time to watch the series one day when I was bored. I got interested in the characters, and decided to read the manga instead. From there, I got a lot of suggestions for other good series, and I was hooked. I met a lot of people who liked the same things I did and they kept on giving my recommendations. It was great!
|
Pokemon was my first, then Sailor Moon and CardCaptor Sakura. But that was before I really knew it was 'anime'... The first series I actually got into knowing it was anime was AzuManga Daioh. ^^
|
My first anime was Sailor Moon. I just really loved it. At the time I thought it was another cartoon, but I found out later that it was an anime. For some reason even though it's my first it's also my favorite. It was my first manga as well.
|
I think that the first really was Pokemon, or DBZ, though I can't remember which of those, and neither did I realise that it was anime back then.
The first Anime I watched when I knew what it was was Fruits Basket, and it's also the first manga I've read. Now I've also watched Elfen Lied, Gravitation, and I'm halfway through Sailor Moon. |
Dragon Ball was one of the first anime that I was ever introduced to. I absolutely loved that show! Pokemon was another of the first ones that I ever watchted but I'm pretty sure I didn't start watching that until after Dragon Ball came out. Oh! And Card Captor Sakura! I loved that show but I'm pretty sure that didn't come until a few years later. I never did get to see the whole series though... That makes me really sad... T_T

My neighbor Tortoro for sure. I was watching that sucker when I was a wee one. Freaking loved that movie <3
Then the second I think was Princess Monoke. |
I'm going to go with Sailor Moon for that one. XD; I also watched Pokemon, Digimon, Dragon Ball, and Dragon Ball Z before I really got into less commercialized and censored anime. I think Cowboy Bebop was the first "mature" anime I watched and Inuyasha was my first manga.
It's fun to look back on the beginnings. :3 Shortly after that I taste tested a huge variety of different anime/manga of all different genres. I'm less experienced with current anime now though due to financial and time restrictions. |
i think the first anime i ever saw was either my neighbor totoro, sailor moon, or pokemon. My first real manga was either prince of tennis, whistle or tokyo mew mew. not sure. i cant stop reading it now so its all a blurr.
|
I was never introduced LOL
I first thought it was Pokemon but i realised i think it was the cards or the merchendise which came out. But i have a fear of birds ever since i was small when a fearow attacked Ash's hat in the early first series I remember that it must be Cardcaptor Sakura. I watched it on Tv and when ended was absolutely addicted. The next time it was on TV i begged my parents to get the tapes to tape it all!! I still have the tapes of some of the episodes!! [Yes tapes were popular xP and no! im not ancient!] Just at the early age of 14=] |
I have Card captor Sakura in English on tapes too, like recorded from TV shows, I went back and watched the episodes again, it sparked my addiction for that series again, it was really really nice. Pokemon was ok, but I wasn't so much into it that I gained a fear of birds, but I have heard that before....
I was not introduced, I watched it all when I was younger, so like turn on TV and watch, and i did do a pick up book and read. It was amazing. Sailor moon and Teshi was just fun to watch at the time, I feel so innocent for that was over 10 years ago  |
The manga I read was Fruits Basket. It is a really cute manga. I still read them. ^_^
|
The first anime I watched (regularly?) was probably Kodocha, or Akazukin ChaCha. There was also another really old anime about cooking, that took place in ancient China, but I don't know the name in Japanese. XD;
The first anime I watched after finally knowing what anime was, was Yu Yu Hakusho (cartoon network!). XDD The first manga I read regularly might have been Faeries' Landing (in Chinese) or maybe Fushigi Yuugi (in Chinese)? My mom had been renting manga from a store, and I randomly picked up one of the series she had been reading (Fushigi Yuugi). It's nice to have a mom who could understand my interests and possibly share the expense. XDD |
Sailor Moon was the first one that I read.
|
well i saw pokemon first and had no clue what anime was. To me it was just a cool cartoon.
|
I don't know the english titles for the first anime I watched. I don't even remember much of the plot, just the characters because my step sister would always draw them. XD I remembered my step sister used to watch them with me, and I'd aways ask dumb questions. I didn't know what anime was until I was 12. XD I'm so late.
My first manga was Pokemon. But I didn't know what manga was either. @[email protected] I mean, it was just a book all the same to me. Just with pretty pictures. |
I can't remember what I watched first but it was either Pokemon, Card Captors, or Sailor moon. As for manga, It was Love Hina or Othello.
|
pokemon and sailor moon had to be the first anime i ever saw. but it was gundam wing that caught my interest and still remains one of my favorite animes to this day! though i don't watch much anymore anymore (other than naruto) because it just simply doesn't catch my interest.
i have become an avivid manga reader. most of my friends ask me (i switch between vampire novels and manga of all sorts) the first manga i had was volume 12 of inuyasha in the 7th grade.... and that was the end of that. XD i've spend hundreds of dollars into my manga habit. ^_^; my mom is even giving me almost all of the collection to date of naruto (1 - 27) for my senior graduation gift thing. so for me its better than getting a laptop (though i desprately need.) XD but manga is my favorite past time, i'm currently reading loveless. XD |
My first was Pokemon when I was 7 or 8, then Tenchi Muyo, Dragonball, Sailor Moon....
First manga...not counting scanlations? Magic Knights Rayearth. Counting scanlations, it was Violinist of Hamelin and FMA. |
