OH MAN! So far back to think! This is like a horrible game of which came first for me.... :) I think Outlaw Star was my first true love. My little brother was obsessed with Dragonball, so I've seen like ALL of those. Pokemon, Digimon, Monster Quest (or whatever it was called), Sailor Moon, Hm.... I love Beebop, but I didn't have the joy of watching it until my senior year in high school.
The first manga I ever bought was Wolf's Rain. I'm pretty sure my sister didn't talk me into reading anything before that. From there it's been a whirlwind of pages as my collection of loves continues to grow. If you want to know them all, feel free to ask! :) |

Card Captor Sakura was one of the first animes I got into but my first anime was probably Sailor Moon like a lot of people in this thread. XD My first manga was Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro which I read once I got into anime again, years after my first. I'm still following it now. Has anyone here heard of it? :]

The first anime which probably does not count could be Doraemon since it aired on local television here and every kid watched it! But the first anime that actually got me into anime was either 'Tobe! Isami Kodawari', which is not popular at all, 'Slam Dunk' and another anime that I can't find its name which had twins with a special locket >.<"
My first manga was probably 'Prince of Tennis' which I only read some volumes because I loved the anime. |

I thought in the beginning Sailormoon. But the very first was Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne.. then SailorMoon , Wedding Peach , DoReMi and Pokemon followed up ^^

First anime i saw must have been Candy Candy. But i didn't know that it was anime at the time. But i loved it even as a kid, anime series were my favourite 'cartoons'
Then much later i was ill and watching some 'toons' i saw Shinzo. And i knew instantly that, thát was the style of animation i loved so much and that i wanted to know more about it. Uhm...Well it would be...Speed racer? and then Digimon. But i didn't realize that they were called "anime" at the time.
The first time I knowingly got into anime was....? Teen Titans, MegaMan and Rave Master? My all time favorite anime is Digimon with YU YU and Fafner as tied seconds. Although...I'm really starting to like Gundam 00. I can't seem to find anymore subtitled episodes anymore, does anyone know where to find them? Quote:

It's honestly a hard way to go about it, but I'd have to say that the first anime series I ever saw were The Noozles, Maya the Bee, The Little Prince, and Samurai Pizza cats around the beginning of the 90's. Sadly, I was really young when I saw the first three, and I can only remember bits and pieces of them.
I remember seeing an episode of Sailor Moon back around 1995 or a little later one early morning on Fox Kids, and I recall seeing Dragon Ball Z very early in the morning at about the same time. Maybe a year or two later, though. But then the Pokemon anime started, and it led to me obtaining the Electric Tale of Pikachu manga from Viz. This action soon led to me obtaining a small catalog of anime and manga licensed by Viz, and that soon allowed me to learn about Ranma 1/2. Officially, Ranma 1/2 is the first non-televised-in-the US anime that I learned about. It is also one of the first manga -- besides the Electric Tale of Pikachu series -- that I ended up getting. It then went on from there with me learning about newer and newer series. All in all, it was thanks to my interest in Pokemon that allowed me to actually learn about anime and manga. |
The first manga I was exposed to was MAR, I still remember buying it at a book store, which is now closed down. It used to be my favorite. A couple years after buying it, I also ended up picking it back up and I now have the entire series. It was my first completed series, as well.
My first anime, I'm not entirely sure. I think it was either Dragon Ball Z or Digimon. And, I think Card Captor Sakura was shortly after that. |
Dragon Ball Z. My brother and I would come home from elementary school and we'd sit on our parent's bed and watch for hours.

Sure, i was introduced with pokemon and naruto, but they didnt spark my intrest the way Digimon did. *has definately moved on though* ^_^ Now its Inuyasha, Strawberry Panic, Chobits, Negima, Vampire Princess, Moon Phase, and Many more... pretty addicted. =] |
The very first anime I saw? Speed Racer, back when I was 4 or so and it was in constant rerun on TV. First one I knew was anime was probably Dragonball (the original, not Z) when I was 8.
As for manga, the first one I liked enough to actually get me into collecting was probably Ah! Megami-sama (then again, it was also the only one being offered by the comic store I frequented; the elderly owner really didn't know much about comic trends), which was followed shortly by 3x3 Eyes and Drakkun when a new owner took over the shop. Then there was sort of a torrent, and now I drown in comics. :D |

The first manga I was introduced to was Tokyo Mew Mew. One of my sister's friend lent a couple of volumes to my sister. She let me read the ones she was finished with. I didn't think manga actually existed before that.:sweat: |

I think mine was either Doraemon or Sailor Moon, back during my kindergarten days. I didn't know they were anime back then but I enjoyed watching it. It's all over the TV and I always waited for the show to start every night xD Used to collect stickers and stuff of them too.
