I think my first anime ever was either Sailor Moon, Pokemon or Dragon Ball Z. But most likely Sailor Moon. I never really watched dragon Ball Z before.

Well, like many people, I was introduced to the genre before I really knew that it was different from American cartoons by shows such as Yu-Gi-Oh! and Pokemon. My first anime/manga that I knew was anime/manga was either Fruits basket or Yu Yu hakusho... I honestly can't remember which now.

I think, Pokémon Isn't Really an Anime, It's more of a Cartoon. So in that Respect; Sailor moon was my First Anime. My first Manga was In Year Eight with Both Mammote! Lollipop and Fruits basket. I Didn't buy the Manga actually; There is this little Section in our school library that has Manga in it. Not much of it, but It's Awesome.
My current Faves Animewise are; Higurashi, Elfin lied And Azumanga Daioh.
My fave Manga out of the Two I'm Reading is probably.. Oh this is a Hard Choice! I think I like Fruits basket more for the Drawing & Plot, And Mammotte! Lollipop For it's Awesomeness. Plus, Mammote! Lollipop is Cuter. =3

Sailor Moon. The very first anime that captured my interest, but I was a total Shaman King fangirl afterwards. I still watch other anime but Shaman King completely drives me crazy.
Good times. :)

The very first anime I watched and got into was Sailor Moon.
I was hooked on that from six years of age to about fifteen.

Gosh, mine was Sailor Moon too. >u< Came across an episode when I was three and a half, and I watched it, read it, drew it... okay -lived- it until I turned fourteen and my hopes of being a Sailor Scout were dashed.
Such is life, no?

It's not surprising that so many people started off on Sailor Moon, Pokemon and Dragon Ball.
They were some of the first animes to become really popular in American TV.

PokeMoN
Yu_Gi-Oh

Sailor Moon
Dragon Ball Z
But I do remember my first manga...Cardcaptor Sakura!!!! >w<

I'm from the Pokemon Generation!! Although I didn't know it was anime back then. XD
However, the anime that really made me the anime fan I am now is Card Captor Sakura. That's with this anime that I discovered what anime really was, and got interested in less mainstream series as time passed, like Fullmetal Alchemist at the time.
There's something funny about it, though. Because people laughed at me because I still watched cartoons in 5th grade.
And now, manga is becoming a mainstream thing in high schools.

I remember watching pokemon on Saturday mornings. Evenyually I learned about Adult Swim and started watching InuYasha and some of the shows that were on there. I don't remember the exact moment in time when I learned of anime.

First anime I ever watched was Dragonball Z. I stopped everything I was doing to watch it around 8:30.
First manga I read... It's gotta be the original Yu-Gi-Oh where there was a whole bunch of violence and it wasn't totally based on the card game.

the first anime I'd ever watched was also dragon ball z, but when I watched that I was little and I didn't know what anime even was. I also used to watch yu-yu-hakasho (Its probably spelt wrong), gundum, and some show called code leyoko which was on right before the others. I watch death note sometimes and I recently saw this strange anime called "fafner" or "fefnar" or something like that, which as far as I could tell was about aliens that were trying to wipe out the human race

Manga: Fushigi Yugi -- a friend brought the first volume to summer camp with her, and I got my hands on it... and then had to find a bookstore to purchase my own volumes. x3
Anime: Yu-Gi-Oh! -- I had a very strict mother and wasn't allowed to watch most anime out there (DBZ, Sailor Moon, even Pokemon), but then I snuck an episode of Yu-Gi-Oh!, fell madly and irrovocably in love with Yami Bakura, and started spiraling down the path to being an otaku. Which is murder on my wallet.

The first anime I saw was DBZ, but I wasn't sold. Then I saw him... Sesshomaru-sama, he's so pretty! So... yah... Inyasha was the bait on the hook.
No manga yet... I'm poor & I rent from the libraries. :(

Sailor Moon or Speed Racer, but that was way before I knew what anime was.
But what actually introduced me to the world of anime was InuYasha and Fullmetal Alchemist.

Anime would have to be Pokemon. I lived for that back in the day. As for manga...The first one i read was Tokyo Mew Mew Vol 1, but i thought they were too expensive to make a habit out of them.
It wasn't for another two or three years that i bought another manga, which was Fruits Basket, of which i own all but two. At the moment i'm reading Pet Shop Of Horrors - Tokyo and i'm on volume 2.
