first anime was probably sailor moon, or dragon ball Z. First manga was juvenile Orion. That had to be one of the shortest mangas I have read, but it is pretty good. I miss being yound and watching sailor moon! Dragon ball z was pretty awesome too.

First manga -> Dragon Knights (w00t for Rath, Rune and Thatz!)
First anime -> SailorMoon/Pokemon (it was about the same time I started watching both...)

First anime I ever watched was technically Super Book as a little girl but I lived and breathed Sailor Moon in middle school.

My first anime was when I was 5 and didn't even know it was an anime. It was Voltron. I didn't see another anime show til 1993 when I was 12 years old. It was Ronin Warriors. THAN I saw my favorite, Sailor Moon in 1997.

my 1st anime was Inuyasha. when i first saw it i thought it was the most amazing thing on earth...then i found out that there was soooo much variety. i fell in love haha

Samurai X was the first anime I was into. Its a classic!!! the godfather of all anime!!!!!

Sailor Moon was my first =3 I seen every last episode, the specials and movies. Even a few of the musicals. A couple the live action episodes and I still love it to this day. I perfer the subbed to the dubbed...of course.

Ranma 1/2 was my first manga to actually own. I'd probably read some other series before that, but I can't remember what it was. XD

My first anime was Sailor Moon. I used to watch it before I went to school in the mornings. However, the first anime I saw and actually knew that it was anime and not a regular American cartoon was Cowboy Bebop.

My cousin got me onto Ranma 1/2 I loved it! Although, now...going back....it wasn't as good as I remembered it to be.

Woops forgot to mention The first manga I actually read that wasn't in a magazine was Oh My Goddess. I read it when it was first printed in western comic form.

I think the First Manga I have read was a Yaoi one because I lost a bet or something, but the first anime I want was One of the Gundam series that came out when I was about 6 or somthing.

the very first time i was introduced to anime i didn't even know it was one... i saw 'kiki's delivery service' by hayao miyazaki and i remember i'd watch it all the frickin time... but the first series i saw was 'fullmetal alchemist' and i was so very much in love with that series and i still really adore it and read the manga...
i don't really remember the first manga i ever read (as i started years ago and have read many, many, many, different ones and genres) but the first one i ever bought was 'fruits basket' i think... or maybe it could have been 'hana yori dango'... i just don't remember... *sigh*

It was my first and favorite anime!

Since then, I like Ranma 1/2, Shin Shan, FMA, Yohko and others.

I also used to watch Totoro(?) It was my fave movie from age 6-10

Actually the first real anime I saw before Pokemon and before Yu-Gi-Oh! but after DragonBall was Ronin Warriors. It was my first real look at Japanese anime and I never knew what Japanese anime was before. After Ronin Warriors went off the air I stopped watching the anime. Until I came upon Inuyasha...and then I just started going through the animes after that. But, I will consider Ronin Warriors as my first anime and I just love that show. I wonder how many people here have watched or heard of the Ronin Warriors.

My first anime would be Grimm's Fairy Tales which aired many years ago on Nickelodeon in the early 90's. Following that would be robot anime such as Gundam, Patlabor, and new Gigantor on SciFi Channel.

My first anime had to be Project A-ko when I was little. My dad taped it once when it came on Sci-fi years ago, and I ended up watching it one day (when I was, like, five or something) because it was a cartoon that I hadn't seen yet.

I also remember seeing parts of Akira when I was around the same age. Of course, I ended up seeing the most disturbing parts of it, but I don't remember being freaked out by it. I just remember being confused and a bit curious about it. I didn't actually know the name of the movie for the longest time, but eventually I somehow figured out which one it was and bought the DVD. I'm not entirely sure how I figured it out when I don't think I ever asked anyone the name of it. Oh well.

hmmm...I'll make a list of some of my earliest animes.

Dragon Ball Z, Pokemon, Inuyasha, Sailor Moon, Rurouni Kenshin, Outlaw Star, and anything else that was on Toonami back in the late 90's and early 2000s

MY NEIGHBOR TOTORO! i remember going to my aunts house and watching it over and over!! haha... my first manga was kodocha... i read it like 5 times lol.... which lead me to read marmalade boy... tokyo mew mew... paradise kiss... kare kano was definitely my favorite though... i remember watching DBZ... Digimon!!! haha ahh good times i remember waking up and going over to my friends house and watching pokemon and then digimon everyday haha....

right now id have to say that claymore, bleach, vampire knight, fruits basket, perfect girl evolution, shugo chara, and aflame inferno are my favorites so far.... oh and i cant believe i almost forgot --> FAIRY TAIL!!!!=3

Sailor Moon, Ronin Warriors, and Gumdam Wing were my first animes and i've been in love with anime ever since!
