sailor moon, all that makes anime great is in sailor moon :)

The first anime I watched was actually an anime movie: Akira. I thought it was beautifully done, especially being done in the 1980's. I don't really know if this counts, but also She-ra - princess of power? Used to watch it as a kid.
I can't remember the first Manga series I ever read. I know one of them was Angel Sanctuary, but can't remember the first one that got me hooked on Manga as well.

I started to like anime when I was in my grade school, and i hate to admit it but, it was the sailor moon.

The first one, that I was introduced to, but was NOT consious was anime, was Sailor Moon.

But, the first anime I really was consious of, was Inuyasha.

It was Galaxy Express 999, back when Sci-Fi first started showing anime. Back then I didn't know it was anime...I just thought it was "grown-up cartoons".

Sailor Moon was my first anime and Magic Knight Rayearth was my first manga. Ironically I read the end of Sailor Moon and watched the end of Magic Knight Rayearth first. I still love both series if only for nostalgia reasons... well that and the various artbooks put out for both series are all gorgeous.

My first anime might have been Speed Racer, but it could've been the some of the shows on Nick Jr. Seriously, some of the early cartoons on nick Jr turned out to be from Japan, like The Little Bits.

THe first manga was either Yugioh or shonen jump magazine.

Well the first anime I ever watched was Pokemon. The show that got me watching anime was Inuyasha though I have no idea how I even started watching that show because I didn't have cable television. It was probably because I bought the second season in Japanese. The first manga I started reading was Love Hina I believe and then it was Angelic Layer, Fruits Basket, and Hot Gimmick.

~Gee that is a tough question for me. I can't really remember but I think my first manga I read was Tokyo Mew Mew. I remember I found the first three volumes at a local Sam's Club all for the price of one and then from there on I've started read manga and now have over a 100 and counting in my collection ^_^

my first anime was pokemon but back then i didnt even know what anime was! eventually my friends got me addicted to it back in 7th grade. the first anime i read was Chibi Vampire then Tsubasa then Pichi Pichi Pitch and so on and so on

I have no real recollection of the first anime I was introduced to, since my memory's blocked. But it turns out I was more of an otaku kid than I realized. Apparently we used to get together with some friends and watch Record of Lodoss War, Ranma 1/2, Magic Knight Rayearth and Ghost in the Shell. I also watched Sailor Moon obsessively from the first episode until it was canceled from Cartoon Network. Though, I guess the first manga would be Sailor Moon? I didn't actually read it, though, 'cause we could only get it in Japanese at the time. XD

The very first anime I ever watched was the film Spirited Away. I love that film so much ^^

The first manga I read was.. I think volume 1 of Flame of Recca. Didn't really like it.. No wait, I read half of Goth. That's some scary shizz right there.. And my friends fried to get me into Naruto but I did'nt really ge it. And they were on like, episode 234 or something and was still looking for 1.. Not so good lol ^^
But now I'm into Mamotte! Lollipop, well, the first two books anyway.
