when I was little i used to watch sailor moon occasionally ,but I would watch DBZ all the time. I also watched pokemon and digimon and yugioh when they were coming out on 4 kids and stuff. the first subbed anime i watched was FLCL though.

The first anime I ever watched was Marmalade Boy. And ironically, the first manga I read was Ultra Maniac *by the same author*. But my current obsession is Clannad and Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle.

Sailor Moon would have to be the first anime I started watching even though I didn't quite get what it was. Shortly after that was Yu-Gi-Oh, Pokemon and Digimon. The first manga I really got into would have to be either Naruto or InuYasha. Now I'm into a wide variety and am usually looking for more to catch my interest.

It was ether Pokemon or Sailor moon. I'm pretty sure it was sailor moon because it was tame and it didn't have and bad words in it(unless you watched it with subs, then there would be some bad words).

I can't remember if it was pokemon or Yugioh. I was totally obsessed with Yugioh though. And then I read the manga a couple of years later and thought that was so much better. :XD

I love Inuyasha and Sailor Moon. Also I absolutely love Rurouni Kenshin and encourage anyone who likes samurai to watch it!

Pokemon! But for me, that doesn't really count. It is as Americanized as you can possibly get. I did have a friend though that ended up lending me the complete series of Ceres: Celestial Legend. That was what brought me into this whole world years ago... I think I was 15? Possibly 14? Well anyway... it's kind of funny to think back on because the art style seems so old fashioned.

The first anime I remember watching was Castle in the Sky when my babysitter put it on. I was totally amazed. Then when I started to get insomnia I would sit up and watch Neon Genesis Evangelion and Bubblegum Crisis.
First manga that I read through was Death Note. A lot later on. There were no stores selling manga near me until I moved to a bigger city. |

Like most people I was probably watching Pokemon and Sailor Moon first, I don't even remember which one actually came first, lol. But...I do remember watching an Episode of Tenchi Muyo & Lupin the Third as a little kid too, lol. I completely rejected Digimon as a lame, wannabe Pokemon, and I also rejected Yugioh for quite a while. I remember getting into Magical DoReMi and the very short lived Fighting Foodons, lol. |
The US version of Sailor moon was one of mine. I'd watched all the way through before I found out there was a Japanese version. I was around ten when watching the US version and maybe just after turning twelve while computer browsing when I found the Japanese one.
Anyway, I also remember watching a few episodes of Sonic The Hedgehog, Astroboy, Samurai Pizza Cats and DragonBall when I was way younger. I'd say between five and seven... After the Sailor Moon phase, I was introduced to CardCaptors (The US Version). I was around fourteen. A year later, I found the Japanese version. Gundam Wing, Pokemon and Digimon were in there somewhere, too. Never got into Yu-gi-oh and DBZ was a bit annoying. |
The first manga I was introduced to are North American manga, so I don't know if that counts, and I wasn't even ALLOWED to watch pokemon until I was, what, 10? 11?

I think the first anime I saw was...Pokemon or Dragon Ball Z. xDD I'm not surewhich was first..I just remember changing the channel really quick when my brother came in when I was watching DBZ because he thought it was stupid. xDD;

Technically, I was introduced to anime through Poke'mon, but I honestly don't think that Poke'mon counts because I didn't really know that it was an anime/manga until AFTER InuYasha...Because I never heard the terms "anime" or "manga" until I started watching InuYasha. My best friend had a Poke'mon game for her GBC, so I had always thought that it was just a video game that they decided to make a Trading Card Game for and that the books and anime came later. XP Around that same time, I remember watching a couple of episodes of Sailor Moon and DBZ, but I never really cared for either, so never really watched them. I blame the lack of television in my house during those years that all those early anime were introduced.
InuYasha is what really hooked me on anime. I'm pretty sure that Ranma 1/2 was my first manga, though. |

My very first anime was Pokemon, though I wasn't aware that Pokemon was an anime at first when I was a kid. So I always thought that Dragonball Z was my first anime since I began to learn what anime was after I began watching Dragonball Z. |
