My first anime that I watched would be Sailor Moon, but I never really got to watch a lot of it because by the time I started watching it it was no longer aired anymore. After that, it was Pokemon. I didn't even know it was anime! Oh, Fruit Baskets was my first manga. :D

When I was about three years old, I was introduced to My Neighbor Totoro. I loved it so much. My sisters and I have watched it a billion times. When I was a little older, maybe 5 or 6, I also loved Sherlock Hound and Noozles. I didn't really know what anime was, though. Generally I count Sailor Moon as my first anime series, when I was 9. Around the same time I started watching Monster Rancher. Then I branched out into Tenchi and Digimon and Outlaw Star, and... well, I was hooked.
My first manga... gosh... I'm not really sure. I didn't really know a lot about manga. I had read some of the CardCaptor Sakura and Magic Knight Rayearth manga in elementary school. The first manga I read an entire volume of was probably Real Bout High School. Now, I'm a total manga addict; I think I might like manga even better than anime. I don't know, it depends. |
Going way back, the first anime I watched was Sailor Moon. I was like four or five at the time. I loved it. The first manga I read was also Sailor Moon but I really didn't know the difference between the manga and regualar comics. It wasn't until about 7th grade that a friend of mine actually introduced me to others series like Ayashi No Ceres.

I started liking manga in the 5th grade.
First I started of with the weekly Shounen Jumps(Naruto,DBZ,Hikaru no go,Yu Yu hakusho,etc) then I read some of the books qat the library.(Fruits Basket,Sailor Moon,and Card Captor Sakura)When I entered the 6th grade I've read more @>@ Ruui read alot since then and has collection of series now. |
My first anime was most likely DBZ or pokemon. I don't know what my first manga was. I have so many I actually don't remember. xD

The same as everyone else- Sailor Moon and Pokemon xD DBZ was up there with those oldeis to- and lets not forget tenchi muyo (for all those american watchers you probably remember the old toonami- with tom the robot man) But hey the new toonami is so much different from the old one DD: -sigh- I still preferred the good old days DDD: Not its all Bobobo and Naruyo o___O I can't remember my first manga- but I believe it may have been Sailor Moon to xD And Di Gi Charat xD Oh to be young again! xD |

My first manga was Tokyo Mew Mew though. It wasn't so bad, but as I got into other mangas, It went down in my fav mangas list. |
I'm not sure but it was either Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh, or Sailor Moon... I never really thought about it. Wait! I think it was Tatoro or whatever, the giant dust bunny! He was so adorable!!
Then my first Manga was either Fruits Basket or Marmalade Boy... My friend brought it in the 5th grade and got my whole gang of friends addicted! I've sticked to Fruits Basket but kinda lost contact with Maramalade Boy... It got kinda weird when she kissed her brother o_O;; |
My first anime was also Sailor Moon, Gundam Wing, and Pokemon. But when thinking back it was also Dragon Ball Z because it was my brother's first anime and he watched DBZ all the time.
And my first manga was also Sailor Moon and a series called Zodiac P.I. from Tokoypop! |
Well, the first 'anime' I ever watched would probably Pokemon, Dragonball Z, and Sailormoon. But I never knew they were called anime. I just thought they were cartoons with pretty pictures.
The first MANGA i was introduced to was probably Inuyasha. My mom borrowed it from the library because she thought we could draw something from it, and my sister and I got addicted to it pretty quickly. |

The next exposure I had to anime was in the 6th or 7th grade when one of my friends started ordering Shounen Jump.<33333 SJ. Yes, I'm a girl, yes, Shounen means its for boys. Quite frankly, I don't care. 300+ pages of sheer manga. That's where I started reading Yu Yu Hakusho, and Naruto. That's when I figured out it was anime. Talk about addiction... T_T |
First anime I ever saw was probably Sailor Moon and Pokemon, though I really didn't know what anime was then. I must have been four or five when I watched it. My first manga that I read was Ranma 1/2. WHat got me hooked though was Rurouni Kenshin. An amazing manga and anime.

I know I use to watch Sailor Moon and Tenchi when I was little and when the program that aired it was still a good channel. Manga wise I believe I introduced it myself after looking up things about them and getting to know how to read direct jap to English without having to flip the direction of reading it. The manga I think was Hellsing.

heh. okey the story goes like this. as a child i used to watch cartoons on italian tv (thats how i learned italian). im not sure what was the 1st i saw maybe the Rose of Versailles or Captain Tsubasa (he was my first crash btw!) or The Star of the Seine or Attacker YOU! or Magical Emi or Magical Angel Creamy Mami or Lupin III or Hokuto no Ken or....but anyway at that time i had no idea i watched anime or better japanase animation tv series. anyway started watching them at age 3. watched them during elemntary and high school...till uni when i was finaly really introduced to them for real.
my 1st anime at uni time was probably Samurai X. and till this day with all the ones i saw as a kid i can probably say i saw more than 100 anime =P as for the 1st manga i read i is probaly beserker..this two once i started uni. |
The first one I was introduced to was Samurai Pizza Cats. Mind you, I was like 5 years old and didn't really know it was anime (other than it being a cartoon with cats that delivered pizza and fought crime) but it was my first anime experience.
My first conscience anime experience was either Dragon Ball or Sailor Moon... probably Dragon Ball. |
The first anime I ever saw was a movie called Demon City Shinjuku. Many years later I found a copy of it on DVD and bought it, asnd it wasn't anywhere near as good as I remember it being, but it was my first, so I am still glad I have it.
