I'm sure plenty of people never got to watch it. A really good friend of mine who loves anime never got to watch it.

Sailor moon is my best and first anime I have ever watch. Also with Gundam wings and etc on toonami. Forever the best. I don't see why nobody has even put a thread about Sailor Moon either. It is like..epic man. XD Everybody knows about Sailor Moon even if they hadn't watch it. It is so fricken popular!

@~X~ Bleue ~X~, chiiruchan: Yeah, I had trouble watching it, too, since in my area it was on during an awkward time (2:30-3pm, and I got out of school at 2:40 in those days). I heard that there was a time when it was being broadcast in the mornings, like 6am, but there was no way in any realm of this or any other world that my mother would have allowed the television on in the mornings. That must have been... *thinks* 1992 or 1993. Which is odd, since supposedly it didn't get broadcast in the US until 1995!

Incase I overslept I set the VCR to record the show. :3 I still have all those VHS somewhere getting dusty.

My dad always had the VCR recording things like Law & Order. Plus, I was so clueless about TV in those days, and had no idea how to use a TV guide (back when they were paper things!) until about 1997.

What year was SM broadcast in the US? I remember watching SMR episodes and a few first season ones... can't have been past 1994 when I watched them.

i'm currently rewathing the series on animeseason. I remember it when I was young but Cartoon Network dropped it before i could finish season 1. Then it came bak for th deathbustrs and the DeadMoon circus arcs.

But this site I found has it all subtitled up to Stars. Currently I'm halfway through R.

As for favorite characters I've always liked Mars, Jupiter and the rest of the outers. I guess its the flashier attacks that hooked me.
Bad guy wise my favorite used to be Nephirite from season one, followd by his other bad dude friends minus Zoysite. But now since the Jap version has no problems with the yaoiness of Zoy x Kun I find myself loving the backstabbing little bugger.

Something never seemed right with the english version and I can't wait to see Stars with it genderbending goodness.

Sailor Moon originally aired in the USA in 1995 I believe.

My favorite bad guys (or gals...) were Mistress Nine, Iron Mouse, and Black Lady/Dark Lady.

I will always love the Amazon Trio and Amazoness Quartet. They're such an inventive group! PallaPalla is downright terrifying: so cute and so violent.

@Lady Luck Infinity: the genderbending is great. It's just simply there, and the characters don't make a big deal out of it. I wonder if Westerners find it weirder than Japanese, who after all have that long tradition of all-male or all-female theaters, where one gender plays the other.

I grew up on Sailor Moon, and I still adore the series.
Proud to say I still have all my VHS move sets, and several of the small comics.
Also have tons of Sailor Moon cards, both trading and game.
Gawd, I was such a huge fan!

Didn't find out about the live action until last year, but it was cute.
Kind of reminded me of the Power Rangers, Sailor Moon style.
They were made by the same company though, right?

my friends and i still adore of it. we have a group of friends and we have assigned ourselves as characters from it lol I'm tuxedo mask!!! even though im a girl lol i always end up with the guy parts.
two of my mates dressed up with the skirts and the gloves and EVERYTHING for a halloween party, i had a cape, a REAL top hat and Single roses stashed everywhere in my outfit so i could whip them out at random intervals all night.
When we had the costume contest the three of us did the catwalk, i had a sailor scout on either arm hahaha it was EPIC!!


Plus we won... haha it was the best night!

I'm on episode 35 I think of Sailor Moon R and noting the cycle of how the bad guys go down. First set gets like 5-10 episodes and the set get slightly less until guys like poor Kunzite and Rubeus get beaten down in anywhere from 1-2 episodes. Oh well I still love the series, waiting for Emerald to get her just desserts.

I never knew Sailor Moon had trading cards!! I knew about the toothbrushes, bed linens, keychains, and all the other stuff you can find on eBay, but TRADING CARDS!! Huzzah.

I'm planning for my second book to be on Sailor Moon -- a proper book, not the fannish stuff that's already come out.

My mother suggested that I'd be Sailor Moon with my friends for Halloween. I would do it but, my friends were all like "Wtf?, so I really can't unless, my bestie from swim says yes, it's most likely not going to happen. I was going to do my cross dressing awesomeness as Tuxedo Mast, too. ;____;

It was surprising that she came up with this because her other suggestion was to be the CBS peacock... now that's a WTF? :|

CBS Peacock? *blinkblink* That's the weirdest and kind of saddest Halloween costume suggestion I've heard. Well, except for "I'm going as [insert actual profession here]." I think you should go as Sailor Moon or one of them. Or Tuxedo Mask. He's probably easier, come to think of it!

I've only seen part of the live action series, but I liked what I saw. Really made the girls feel more "real", not looking exactly like their transformed selves.

I've been a fan of the anime since I was really young, it was my first Anime, and I grew up waiting for new episodes to air in America.

Going as tuxedo mask will give you an excuse to wear a cape and a tophat!!!!

Ok I'm new here so sorry for interrupting if I am, but anywho, I absolutely love sailor moon!!!!! It was the first anime I ever seen. I remember walking up like 4 hours early just so I could watch it before school. My favorite was alway mercury because she was so smart, but then in later episodes I started to like neptune for her musical talents, but then and it the end of it all, I finally figured out that I would die to be saturn. Her story is so sad, but hopeful at the same time it's amazing. and I can't remember what episode it is but I know it was one of the finales when she gave up her life to save the world but sailor moon went into the dark orb to save her it was such a sad episode, but over all to tell the truth I do think that they Pro-longed sailor moon a little bit too long. The last 100 or 200 episodes weren't even needed to finish of the story, it was just there. They were still good but i guess to me it would have been better if they ended it earlier.

I love Sailor Moon! I miss it now. I saw all the anime except for stars. I read the manga only, where I could, and read the transcripts. I need to see the Live action, and see the musicals, if possible.

I played Sailor Moon too. I was Jupiter/Mercury (depending on mood) and my freind was Venus/Mars. We always made up new attacks and new villans. We tryed to make Otaku Senshi but were too lazy to do it.

My Favorite Was Always Sailor Mars and Sailor Jupiter.

Okay, let me just say it is ALL about Sailor Jupiter~! :) I always felt like she was the most well-rounded of the inners. I really LOVELOVELOVE Sailor Neptune and Uranus too, though. ... basically all the Outers actually... :3 I just really love this series! Haha! I read the manga online FINALLY and just about died from flooding past memory overdose ;)

I love Sailor Moon. I've seen all of the seasons, the movies, some of the musicals, and the live action series. Let's see I own all of the inner scouts dolls, the scepter, some of the comics, a couple of the cards, the computer game, a child's Sailor Moon costume, Tshirt, bed linen, and a few other things. *giggles* I used to even have a Sailor Moon website until Geocities recently went under :( So yea I'm definitely a Moonie *giggles*
My favorite scout is Sailor Jupiter. I love her loyalty and tomboyness.

Omg! I loved Sailor Moon! I haven't seen it in forever though. I watched it when I was younger when it used to be on tv. It was like part of my childhood, haha. I really should watch it again sometime, I miss it, lol.
