I've really gotten into Korean manhwa recently. I just like the thin, wispy lines style that I find in Korean manhwa.

My two top favorites right now are Model and Chocolat.

Do you like Korean manhwa? Why/why not?
If you do like Korean manhwa, what is your favorite one?

I've read very little of the major releases in terms of manwha. The only exception is Demon Diary. It's so cute.

DVD is by far one of the funniest things out there, though. If you do online shopping, look up the publisher Drama Queen. They have a goodly selection of manwah, DVD included.

Demon Diary = <3 xD

Divine Tempest: Here's the little preview/summary from TokyoPop:
Jae is a Korean student who came to Europe to study art. Things aren't going her way, but she's determined to make it. One night, her friend Eva brings a drunk guy to her apartment and asks if he can flop there for the night. Jae doesn't like it, but agrees. That night she has a dream that the drunk guy drinks her blood ... which, of course, turns out NOT to be a dream.

Jae is surprisingly unafraid of the vampire, Michael, and starts to paint his portrait. The two strike an unusual deal: if Jae allows the vampire to feed on her, he will pose for her. His beauty and alluring preternatural energy could be exactly what Jae needs to finally succeed as a painter.

^^ I like several korean mangas too, but sadly I don't exactly remember the titles....Maybe I'll borrow some from my girl friends.

((Btw, The Wallflower is Hanakimi, which is japanese and so is Kodocha [Kodomo no Omocha]))

  • Kill Me Kiss Me is LOVE!

And HanaKimi and the Wallflower are not the same.
Hana Kimi is about a girl in an all boys school, trying not to be caught.
Wallflower is about a girl that loves creepy things and lives with 4 hot guys who are trying to make her a lady.

Two very different series, unless VuscISM is talking about something else.

  • I actually read more manhwa than manga nowadays. With...the exception of yaoi. XD

I love One, Demon Diary, Faeries Landing, and Kill Me Kiss Me. I need to read Goong soon.

(The Wallflower is Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge or Perfect Girl Evolution. It's Japanese

The Hanakimi live action is Taiwanese.)

I have a few korean manga... The difference I've noticed is that the Korean manga I've gotten seem to be ... lower quality. Perhaps not in art or story line, but printing wise. Parts of the pages will of been cut off and I've seen duplicate pages in them that can become quite confusing while trying to read. However I am willing to accept that it is completely possible that I just got a few bad eggs out of the basket.

  • TokyoPop also does that. The poor printing jobs. I've seen plenty of copies of mangas and manhwas where there are a lot cut off. *frowns at them*
