Since no one else has made a topic about it, I though I'd make one.

Hellsing, both manga and anime were somehting I could get really into. The art isn't really my favourite style, but its so unique. I like all the characters, especially Intergra, finally a realistic female who can accomplish great things and be in control.

  Alucard is probably more of a neutral for me; a crazy, handsome monster whose ways is pretty pure, just a bit messy. Not a completely evil, but also not a crusador.
  Integra is just plain awesome xD.

Ahh, Hellsing. Such an awesome over-the-top series.

I totally love Millenium, the crazy Nazi freaks that they are. ;o; <3 After all, they got my three favorite characters- the Captain, and the Valentine Brothers.

Luke and Jan are the best things ever. ;o;

@k4it0u: Alucard is certainly a difficult character to place, one moment he's enjoying killing others, another moment he is showing concern for others. I don't know what to make of him. XD

@Alegretto: Millenium certainly adds a lot more to the playing field. I like the captain too, he's just so cool, I wish Luke and Jan lasted longer XD

Yeah, Millenium is a real interesting lot. Especially because we... still don't know if the Major has any ulterior motives to his plan aside from sheer destruction and war. I'm completely caught up with what's out in Japan, and I'm STILL like "Oh no you didn't Hirano! HOW WILL IT RESOOOLVE?!"

It's amazing.

And the Valentine Brothers ALWAYS need more screen time. Though I was absolutely in love with episode 2 of the OVA. It did a really great job with the both of them.

but then again, the Hellsing OVA so far is nothing but pure, epic win. FAR better than the TV series, in terms of... everything.

And then of course, there's Luke and Jan's very merry manga. Makes me wonder what Hirano's smoking.

I love this series! I saw part of the anime a few years ago, and recently I picked up the manga up to volume four as well asthe anime boxset. I plan on getting the OVAs as soon as I have a little more money. ^^;

I LOVE Kouta Hirano's pacing and shots. He's very good at creating intense moments and such. The art at first didn't appeal to me much, but the more recent volumes have been perfectly lovely with all the dark effects.

As for my favorite, I'd have to say Alucard. He's just so.....insane. I really like the AlucardxSeras pairing too. ^^;

I just wish my Barnes and Noble had the next volumes. They always have the ones I DON'T need. x_x

My friend and I are cosplaying as Seras and Integra this summer. 8D

Hee. no need to rush with the OVA. It's being released quite slowly, to keep in pace with the manga. Hirano does all the art himself (yes, that also involves the inkings and tones), and so... yeah. The OVA producers are trying to keep in pace with him.

And the third episode of the OVA was released last week! Squee! I've seen the raw and it's sexcellent, but I'm still waiting on the subtitles. Were I you, I'd avoid the anime and just follow the manga and the OVA. After the Valentine brothers, the anime spins off into their own....um. I thought it was crap. Hirano did too, and thus the Hellsing anime was cut short.

Ooh! I've always wanted to do a Hellsing cosplay... But I look like no one. D:

And I really REALLY want to do Dok, but the only feature of mine that even slightly resembles him is that my hair's of a similar length and style. ;_;

I haven't watched the OVA yet, only the anime, and it sounds like I should have gotten the OVA instead XD Is it out on sale? Or only torrented from sub groups? I have to agree, the anime wasn't done very well, although I'm used to animes being worse than their manga counterparts (there are a few exceptions).

@Alegretto: I really like the fact that the previous events all lead up to Millenium being discovered. I get kind of annoyed if something big suddenly gets thrown into the plot with no previous connection. Hirano did a great job linking everything ^_^
The major is so mysterious, or maybe he's just an utter psycho, or maybe he's Alucard's long lost non-identical twin brother that got left out in history. The plot is going to change drastically in regards to him, I can just feel it XD
Cosplay? Get a wig and you can cosplay anyone you like XD Alucard shouldn't be too hard, you don't even have to look like him, just get a big hat and sunglasses to cover your face XD

@precious: The intense moments are one of my favourite aspects of Hellsing, no other manga kind of creates the tense atmosphere the way Hellsing does. I guess all the scary shadowy effects help XD
I like the AlucardxSeras pairing too, although I'm a bigger fan of AlucardxIntegra, its the whole knight and Queen thing they have going. XD

I believe episode 1 of the OVA is out on sale. I'm not entirely sure, as I've just been getting the torrents since OVA 1 came out in Japan. It sticks quite close to the manga, though the animation is some of the best I've seen. And the voices are all top-notch, too.

But everyone does Alucard. Dx I want to be Dok! I can probably get away with doing the captain, though...

I already watched the anime a couple weeks ago. :P Despite the fact that it does get WAY different from the manga, I still enjoyed it. The manga definitely IS better though. I want to pick up the OVA soon simply because I'm in a bit of a Hellsing obsession lately.

I can't believe Hirano does all those himself! *_* I've been in the Rising Stars contest, and it's so time consuming. Especially with all those details he puts on...he must go crazy.

When I first saw Dok, I thought he was Integra. <_<; I was like, "She got ugly!"

@precious: I'm so used to the idea that all mangakas have assistants that I forget Hirano has none. The details are so incredible, I don't know how he manages it.

I love Hellsing.
Al is the best Vampire there is coming down to the very point. It's probably the only anime that exceeds the show of "Buffy The Vampire Slayer."
I didn't like the WHOLE master of Alucard, she seemed a bit stingy with him even though he protected her as a child. I didn't really like the relationship between those to.
Also I hated it that Ceres was excluded out most of the time, because of the boss and Alucard didn't want to deal with her half of the time. I liked the whole plot and everything, but I didn't like how it ended.
When they showed the vampire that's supposedly supposed to be the strongest and Alucard goes up against him, he was weak.
Although, I really didn't like how the creators made Ceres weak on the series too. The mangas and the show are completely good in graphics and the characters, but they failed when they ended the season.
I really hope that they DO make a sequel, unless they've already decided that they're not.
The military was kind of weak too, but I loved their weapons. The (I forget his name right now) but the crazy phychotic Vampire Hunter that went after Alucard and Ceres, I didn't like him at all. His character, in my opinion, wasn't needed to add on to the manga/show/etc.
But these are just my thoughts, opinions.

Try reading the manga and watching the OVAs. :D The anime is an abomination to the series. So bad that Hirano pitched a fit and forced them to cancel the anime.

And the only sort of sequel that Hellsing is getting is the OVA series, which is sticking very close to the actual manga itself. I've heard rumor that the prequel- Hellsing: The Dawn MAY be an ongoing series, but I doubt it will be a long one. Hirano pulls out his monsters, tells the story, and ends it. He doesn't drag the series on and on forever.

Try getting the manga. You'll like it a whole lot more, I guarantee that. :D

Yes, all the characters comes off much better in the manga, I think you'll even like the crazy old Father Alexander ^_^ and the relationships are portrayed better as well.

Intergra has to keep a tight leash on Alucard, because he's well... a vampire XD and in the manga you'll see what happens when he gets unleashed :3
