Do you like Negima!? If not, why?
Of course! I believe it is Ken Akamatsu's greatest story ever! It was well constructed! Have you read the Manga? Yes! I prefer it more than the anime though. The art has gotten better from his older work. Have you seen the Anime(s)? Yes. But I have not seen the OVA yet. I heard that it is not that good. Which did you like better? The manga. It went longer. I thought the anime got shorten too much. Who is your favorite character? Setsuna Sakurazaki and Yuna Akashi! What's your favorite manga arc? The dodgeball! It was very funny and original! The story is so amazing. I love how it is kind of like Harry Potter and stuff. I never knew this much sexuality could be funny! haha. |
watching the live action.
i hear its being canned soon. because apparently the ratings and viewer mail bad. aww. but that was the problem with the anime and live action. they literally take the magic out of the series, and turn it into a "harem" show...with a 10 year old. who's character is over-shadowed by the girls! when the focus should be Negi! we get that there are 31 girls there! we get that they are cute. and each has their own unique persona. but when you put so much into them just being that- "Girls" -you leave no story. Negima was handled like a "cash in" series. when it should have been handled with time. popularity of the manga doesnt mean everyone will love other mediums of it. |

Yes! I love the series! It's really good, I'm still waiting for number 8 to come in from the library so I can read it. -Have you read the Manga? Um, the manga, probably. Usually the manga is better than the anime, but sometimes the anime can be better with some fillers, if they're good. -Who is your favorite character? I don't really know who my favorite is. I like all the characters and there is so many to choose from. -What's your favorite manga arc? -Do you like Negima!? If not, why? I love it! One of Akamatsu's most amusing and entertaining works. -Have you read the Manga? Most definitely. Since it's still being drawn by Akamatsu I consider it the canon. The animations were only done with his permission, not his actual involvement. -Have you seen the Anime(s)? I have. Both the first anime series and the remake. -Which did you like better? Most definitely the manga. The anime went out of its way to change the plot near the end, and left out Kotaro, one of the better secondary characters. The remake's totally different, but charming in its own way. -Who is your favorite character? Look at my name - Evangeline A K McDowell, "The Doll Master", "The Undying Magi", "The Dark Evangel" (note that "Dark Angel" was a mistranslation by DelRey - in Japan it's "Dark Evangel"). :) -What's your favorite manga arc? I love Negima. It's probably my favorite manga that's available right now. :). I love that it mixes all of my favorite genres into one.(Fantasy, comedy, and romance.) The artwork is also gorgeous, although I could do without the excessive amount of fanservice. Have you read the Manga? Yes. I love the manga for all the reasons I said above. Have you seen the Anime(s)? Only Negima! I have yet to see Negima?!, but I will buy it when FUNimation decides to release it. I have not seen the OVAs, either, and have no desire to. :) Which did you like better? The manga. It goes further into things, and it doesn't have a bad ending. It also has more chapters that feature character development than the anime does. Then again, the anime was a lot more limited because of time constraints, so I'll let the lesser amount of character development slide a little. I don't like that the anime cut out Kotaro, but if they had to, they had to, I suppose. :( Who is your favorite character? Fate Averruncus. No one other than me likes him, though. :(. Other than Fate, I like Asuna Kagurazaka, among others, of course. What's your favorite manga arc? The newest one, involving Fate. I haven't read it yet, but I really want to learn more about Fate, and am anxiously awaiting to read new stuff about Fate on the Wikipedia when it's revealed in the manga. Plus, from some of the pictures I've seen, it seems like it's the most interesting, anyway. My favorite of the ones I've READ is the Chao Lingshen arc. So far, this seems to be the most interesting, and is when the magic part of Negima actually outshines the school part. Not that the school part is bad, or anything. I just like the magic parts more. :) |
Negima!
Anyone familiar with Negima by Ken Akamatsu? I'm an avid fan of his work for coming up with both humorous and seriousness in his writing, and I've been a fan of his latest work from the first issue. I haven't laughed so hard since Love Hina, and I'm hoping the latest issue comes out sometime soon so I can see what's going on.
Also, I think I preferred the subbed anime rather than the English dub, but the dub wasn't that terrible, but the sub is better. |
hmm word is, there will be another Negima animated movie coming out. It may be possible, that Fate is in it~!
I wonder if companies just gave up on making Negima a series. With two failed adaptations, and a failed live-action; that is pretty discouraging. |
