I used to buy manga whenever I went to the book store, and that was almost every weekend, but I gradually became less interested in anime and manga(I'm still in love though) and now I haven't bought any new manga in a while ><
I need to get a few new ones... |
Maybe once a month if one of my favourite series comes out, I'll buy one or two manga books. It also depends if they're on sale. Vampire Knight, Gentlemen's Alliance, and Tail of the Moon (sometimes). But I need to catch up on my Black Cat manga collection... I also want to buy the Record of a Fallen Vampire books too... There are just too many good series to buy them all! But I do subscribe to Shonen Jump and Shojo Beat magazines. Do those count?
And as for anime, once in a blue moon when something really good comes out. Or if something is super cheap and on sale. Other than that, anime is too expensive to buy. 4 episodes for $25 would make me super poor super quick. |
I can only buy manga whenever I go to an anime/manga con, which is twice a year. But I tend to buy heaps at a time (ten volumes at the last con I went to) so averaging them out... it'd be one volume per month.
As for anime, while I know of a store near me that stocks an entire wall dedicated to it, the prices are dang expensive so I don't buy them. Oh well, I prefer spending all my money on manga anyway. =D |
Well I usually buy around 1-5 a month but lately (and after I found that on amazon you can get a lot of manga 4 for 3) I have bought around 20 in the last month.
And with anime I usually buy one complete set at the cons I go to, so about twice a year. Though I did just buy about 7 dvds of Saiyuki because I found them for $3.99 each. I can't pass up a good deal. |
I bought some DVDs twice because there were on discount/sale...Course now they'll have to wait until I get a DVD player later on.
I may play them on someones' DVD player soon. She seems to want to see some anime so it'll work out. |
I don't buy any anime anymore, and never did buy much in the first place, it's waaaaay to expensive for me! I used to buy manga all the time, but now I only buy my favorite series when they come out (Bizenghast, Inubaka, FullMetal Alchemist, and Loveless.) I think I might start buying Chibi Vampire and Here is Greenwood again, but I don't know. I may just try to get them at my library!
I'll probably start buying manga the library doesn't have, too... For instance, I really want The Dreaming volume three, but the library doesn't have it. D: |
My local library doesn't have any manga so I just buy all my own. Plus I like having my own small library. At last count I had around 400 books, of which about 100 are manga.
|
i try to go at least once a week, to see if theres anything new in coles, and i buy whatever catches my eye, or i get the next volume i need. i also gets like all anime magazines i can find, shonenjump, shoujo beat, yen plus, anime insider, newtypeUSA then Piq replaced that, protoculture, otakuUSA, ummm some others like posterzine with a bunch o anime posters. um naruto collector. i also hav a few others i get if i find....i should really just get a bunch of subscriptions >.>
as for anime, i like complete collections, and movies, or buying my fave series as the next volume comes out. i bought Bleach the movie recently, can't wait to watch that. ooooh oooh oh i just remmebered, i bought some manga, volume 1 of case closed and volume 11 or host club, and when i went to put em on my shelve, i stared and was like, ugh theres no room, i should really count my manga. so i counted and it took awhile and with the two i just bought, i had reached 500 yes 500, i was like O.o *speechless* then i was like omg kyaaaaa i should buy zee cake and put 500 on it in icing XD |
Man that is a lot of manga Tsumetai.
|
I don't have a set time. I go to the bookstore when I'm waiting for someone so that's about 3-8 times a month, but I usually don't buy anything. However if I like something enough, I will buy it whenever the next volume is released(or when I have the money for it ).
|
My buying pattern is extremely random. Manga over here, when bought brand-new in bookstores, ranges from $15-$24 (Aus) per book.
Luckily, the other day, i was wandering through a second hand bookstore, & picked up 11 books in fairly good condition, for $11 all up. C: Most of the time i'll read manga online though. But some series' that i follow, & (thankfully) haven't been posted, i'll buy, even if they do cost $21 each. ;^; |
I don't buy Manga often,not enough money T_T
|
One manga at least a month. Anime, never.
|
It depends on accessibility, I live in a town in the middle of the forest so I stock up when I get to go to a larger town, which seems to be atleast bimonthly. And I don't order online so much since the post office workers leaves the items in the rain outside the door even though the box is clearly too big to fit in any mailbox in the first place.
|
I really wish I had the ability to buy manga/anime frequently. But funds IRL are kinda stretched because we have a baby. Funds are always stretched when you have children though...
|
I buy manga every other month or two. Anime DVD's a little less than that. I'm not as into 'em as I used to be.
|
To be honest, I never really buy anime or manga. I just download it..
|
I usually buy manga whenever I go buy comics. I don't really by anime DVDs, I prefer to watch fansubs online (most of the anime I like are not avalable in the states).
|
I never buy anime.
Ever. I'm a reader, not a watcher. I can't watch the same anime/movie/series more than once without getting bored. Manga on the other hand, I might buy one volume every two months. I don't have a job or an allowance, so I do what I can. I'll generally read a series online first, or watch the anime, and only after I decide I like that series enough for it to become a favorite do I bother actually buying the manga to add to my collection. So far, Loveless is the only series I've actually gotten all of them of. Well, unless you count Maximum Ride, but there's only one of them, soo.. |
I read from all of my friends, but have not bought Anime/Manga for a while. Minus the Yaoi I bought at MTAC.
|
I used to by manga and anime all the time, but now I've just started really buying the main series's I collect, like Fruits Basket, I think it comes out every 3 months, so I buy that, but I also keep an eye out for anything by my favorite manga artists like Kaori Yuki, or Miwa Ueda.
Anime I don't usually by so much anymore, I have all of my favorite series, but I am tempted on buying Full Metal Alchemist, it's just sooo much. |
I've posted before but my habits have changed drastically: I buy about 1-3 manga every week ^_^ : I try to cut back by reading online or downloading but my addiction is too great lol (for books in general anyway)
I've only bought like 2 anime dvds in like the last year though- watching online is just so much easier:: or what i want is CrAzY expensive (like this one series I want is about 240 bucks for the whole 3 discs >< (b/c u have to buy each 80 disc separately)) |
i guy a manga at lest every time i visit the mall! which.. sadly around once a month if lucky 3 days of a month.. >.<
|
I use to buy nine or ten a month (in one day) two years ago.
I have no idea what happened, I don't buy manga as frequently as I use to (my sister is the one that usually buys manga when has the spare change). But as of now, I usually buy manga... maybe five or six a year? Probably more, but I can't remember a time where I bought manga this year. |
I haven't had the money for mangas or animes for a while. So I either watch them on T.v. or on demand. I hate to admit it, but I read almost all my manga online. Once a week I go to the library and get 3 mangas. Not much for my addiction though. They are gone within 6 hours.. well not even that.
