I admit it I was wrong. This was a better anime than I thought.
Allthough a lot of my friends tell me it's a bad series I don't care. A cultured show is a cultured show. And I belive this was a truly unique anime/manga series. My friends are culturally deprived and I'm one of the few who loves ballet, and classical music. So I thought the show being centered around ballet was wonderful.
Now for my opinions about the characters!

I loved the ending in the sense that Ahiru didn't end up with Mytho. It was, (apologies to MythoxAhiru fans out there) somewhat better in my opinion. Even before the first season had come to an end I was well and truly on my way to becoming a FakirxAhiru fan!!! ^^ The perfect Match!!!

But I really liked the episodes that showed Rue's other side. The pivotal one was probably the episode that first flashed back to her childhood and it showed how much she wanted to be with Mytho, to have him be her prince. It established the true, heartbreaking love she has for Mytho, the reason why she worked so hard to dance so well, and basically told me that this anime was going to have a better happy ending than any other anime I've seen.

Everyone has a dark side. We're generally selfish, manipulative people. We've all been in that pit of self-pity and self-hate that takes away hope. But in the end Rue's love was enough. It made me cry

Oh I know what you mean! This anime is so much better than what I have expected. Although it was a bit slow in the beginning, the ending was very nicely done. I was glad that Ahiru and Fakir were somewhat together in the end. Though I was shock when the prince picked Rue. I never thought that would ever happen! My favourite episode was when Fakir was writing Tutu's story. I thought that was the best episode out of everything aside from the ending. I'm glad that I was able to watch this fantastic anime ^^

I agree with you! I loved it but I think they did the right thing with AhiruXFakir pairing.

Yep, I agree as well. Though it would be nice if it was Tutu and Mytho but Ahiru and Fakir are a better pair!

I haven't watched that in a long while. It was really good, though. Much better than I expected. Too bad I only got to watch a few episodes.

I've just started watching it recently... and I'm having a touch of trouble following the story (because I'm having trouble finding episodes... I ended up watching episode four or five, then number fourteen... or something like that). I hope I can find more of the episodes...
It'd be awfully troublesome if I ened up having to skip too much more. =____=;;; Is there somewhere (other than youtube) I could find all of the episodes? Perhaps a download? *sighs* I suppose it can't be helped.

But, yeah, back on topic, from what I've seen, I absolutely adore Princess Tutu. ^ ^

i like princess tutu very much, at first it was like okkkkkkk, the duck become a girl and the girl become a tutu/princess tutu. but then i was really into it and stuff and like it was so disappointing at the ending. i thought she was goin the be a human forever and stay with the knight dude but nooooooooooooo, she have to turn back to a duck and he like start writing the story of the town and stuff and they stay together forever only that she is a duck, a small duck in a big lake with him siting next to the lake and writen the town story and stuff. the prince and the princess of raven end up together though and i think that was good.
i really dont like a lot of anime or cartoon that relate to ballerina cause it like boring but i think this anime is good and the ending make me ask WhyWhyWhy cant she be a human. it was sad at the ending, it was unsatisfice and i wish they has had a better ending or something.

It's a good one, though it's not my favorite. Some parts of the anime were very confusing, but it's overall a pretty nice storyline. n__n I just really hated it when Ahiru was not together with Mytho...but I guess Fakir's better for her. ^^;; But still at the end, she turned back to being a freakin' duck..D:

I've only seen little bits and pieces of the anime but from what I saw it takes after the story of the ugly duckling but has a twist to it.
I recomend this anime It was a very good story.And the characters were amazing.

I started watching and though I laughed at the name, I did find it amusing and likable in a weird way. (I was watching it in cantonese (chinese) dub so that's why I found it weird with some of the wording they chose))

But then school started and I couldn't watch it. I regret that because I wanted to know the ending. T_T I watched up to where the 'prince' turned evil and the 'knight' started having more of a part in the show. ^o^ I like the knight!

The storyteller was annoying in cantonese (chinese). When I watched the second epidsode as the first episode I watched I was very confused and rolled my eyes a lot.

I love the ballet because I understood a lot of references.

What is up with the anteater ballerina though??

This is one of my favourite anime's ever, I love the twisted fairy tale feel to it (Well let's face it, there aren't many fairy tales out there that aren't a little twisted.. that's their appeal XD). It's weird and whimsical and beautiful.

I was so happy that Fakir and Ahiru ended up together [to an extent], they're so adorable together. Ahiru is a bit of a simple soul, I'm sure she was quite content living her ducky life in the end being kept company by Mr Grumplepuss.

And Rue, despite it all, deserved her happy ending with her Prince.

Me and my friend adore this show. At first we were a bit iffy about it, we found the art style not to really match the amazing plot of the show and were slightly put off by it. But, to her cousin's insistence, we countinued on with and have become simply in awe at the plot. The art, I'm still confused over, even though at times it does have its beautiful moments.

(Does anyone else find it funny that Mytho has a problem keeping his pants on?)

I actually like the fact that Ahiru doesn't end up with Mytho, because in all honesty, that's how one would expect the show to end.

I give the show two big thumbs up!

I quite enjoyed this anime, unfortunately I haven't gotten to watch it all yet, because I had it on my tv, but we don't have that channel anymore, so I can no longer watch it.
It has been awhile since I've watched this anime, so unfortunately I don't remember much other than that it was about ballet, swan lake in particular if I'm not mistaken, so that was interesting, and I enjoyed watching the characters, although Duck's voice in English was quite annoying, but what can you do really...

This series was cool, but I love it more because there is an awesome amv to it, that is called hold me. Yeah, awesome beyond belief, and so i started watching the series. It was good, I love the spazzy duck too :)

When I first heard of Princess Tutu, I actually kind of laughed at the name and thought that it wouldn't be very good. I was wrong though. I ended up really loving the series. I liked that Fakir and Ahiru ended up together (sorry MythoxAhiru fans). It didn't seem forced to me and they pulled it off very well. The only thing that disappointed me was the ending. It didn't feel like everything was all wrapped up. I was sad that Ahiru had to stay a duck. Overall this one of my most favorite shows.

I laughed at the idea for so long but like yakitate japan, it became funny in the end of it anyway. I was sad when she had to stay a duck, but it was great because it showed that no matter what, it was the best that cou9ld happen easily, unlike Pretear which had a very and now everyone is great ending.

I was not sure I would like it when I started watching, but after the first episode I was hooked! The whole thing was just so cute and beautiful. I wanted Fakir to 'write' Ahiru back into a girl at the end, oooh~ XD

I have to admit, my friend sent me the Hold Me Now video and I just couldn't not watch it after that. When I first started watching the series I thought it was cute, fluffy, and just an excuse to have pretty music and draw ballerinas. But then... then it started to get deeper and deeper as well as a bit darker. The episode when Duck becomes consumed with guilt and insecurity to the point of giving up being Princess Tutu was when I realized that this was no light and fluffy fairy tale, it had a deeper purpose and was going to be as dark as some of the older fairy tales that have since been Disney-ized.

My favorite pairing has to be Fakhiru, Mytho and Rue are cute but they're such... a fairy tale couple. So perfect and serene together, but Fakir and Duck are both so lively and fight so cutely. It feels like the ending was a bit of a gyp so far as that pairing goes, but that's what fanfics are for, right? I do enjoy reading a good fanfic.

I liked the anime,but I wasnt able to watch alot.But I"m glad I"m not the only one who has watched it,much like the above post,everyone told me it was just stupid and all,but I found it nice what I got to watch anyway.

I saw a family at ComicCon last week cosplaying... the baby girlie was Ahiru~~ It was adorable and I'm really sorry I didn't take a picture.
I actually started watching it around 7th or 8th grade D: Now I've just graduated high school, and I didn't finish it till a year or so ago. ;u; ((it's annoying, trying to find shows online))

But it's so cute, and I'm a big-time lover of ballet =u=
((though I can't dance myself)) and the story's so magical~~
