Ah, the flowers of womanhood! So who here likes a bit of girl loving girl goodness?
I am so happy that there has been a recent influx of lovely yuri works that aren't just porn. I like stuff that has a point, and a story, and some really character development. Though I like occasionally numbing my mind and watching something that's just cool-- like Bakuretsu Tenshi. XD
I tend to like things that sort of hint at pairings. I'm a big fan of yuri in Sakura Wars and of course Maria-sama ga Miteru.
So what good girl love things do you all watch/read?

its ok im not struck on it since im a all male person the thing with Yuri anime is they dont have any males in them ._.
only one i know of really is Maria-sama ga Miteru, and i gave that one up because i got a big head slashing the boys together and then found no interest in it.
if it is a anime like Touka Gettan though then i would go for it. ^^

Hmm i don't necessarily like it or dislike it- i've always just been just into plots so it doesn't matter if its yuri or yaoi if it has a good plot and or story development that kinda stuff then w/e .... well yeah normally the more hentai the less of a story so i do stray from reading/watching too much but besides that i'll give anything a chance

It's a lot harder to find a good yuri/ girl-love series with plot than it is to find a yaoi/ boy-love one. I don't know why that is. Which is why it's good to see a few new series that are at least acknowledging the ability to have a story with yuri.

I only watched one yuri anime, Strawberry Panic. It was alright but it really isn't my type of anime.

I've watched Strawberry Panic! and read what I could find of it, and I've just gotten into Kashimashi ~Girl meets girl~. It's very cute, I love that series so far. I've bought both the manga that are out, as well as the first dvd of the anime. It's gradually climbing to the top of my list as far as liking it goes, although it probably won't reach to my all-time favorites.
Other than that, I don't think I've been able to find any. If anyone has suggestions, especially of manga that's out here in the US already that I could buy that's shoujo-ai or yuri based, I'd love to hear it. It's so rare to find series like this, although I would've thought they'd be more popular. Dx

I really suggest Simoun. It's not exactly yuri, but it's so close that it's not even worth arguing about. The storyline is really good and I like the characters a lot. It delves a lot into the nature of sexuality-- people deciding if they want to be male or female. And the fighting parts are extraordinarily beautiful.
Um, Maria-sama is like a very toned-down Strawberry Panic. It's just about the sweetest romance that I've ever read. :) It's a little slow, but it's something worth watching at the end of the day if you just want to curl up and be happy. It's kind of a yuri staple, too.
Bakuretsu Tenshi (Burst Angel/ Exploding Angel), is pretty yuri oriented. It's a lot of boobs and guns, but I really like the character designs and the animation is lovely. Also, the fact that they named their characters after the girls from Little Women cracks me up. It starts out sort of like a harem anime, but after the first couple episodes it gets better. It's very character driven as opposed to story-line driven.
Unofficial-yuri wise, Sakura Taisen is pretty worth checking out, too. It's based on a dating/strategy game, but the relationships between the girls hint at something more than just friendship at times. Especially Lobelia in the Paris version. It's hard to find stuff about SakuTai, though, as it's really game-oriented. The manga is worth reading, and the TV show will take you through some of the first game. Also, if you've seen Ouran, the Zuka Club has a bit of a base in this series because of the whole Zukaba thing.
I'll have to try Kashimashi! Anything with lovely girls loving girls sounds nice XD.

Mmmmm.
Yuri. Sweet, sweet yuri. Ever read Hellsing? In volume four, I think, there was one heck of a yuri-ish scene. It involved finger licking. If you like girl stuff, check it out,
My favorite Yuri anime is Kannazuki no Miko and my favorite manga is Girl Meets Girl.
I am suprised yuri is not more popular. It is often more endearing than yaoi, though then again yaoi itself is pretty cool.
I guess I am just soft for girls who like girls.

I like yuri just as much as I like yaoi, which basically means I'm fine with it, sometimes feel in the mood to watch/read it, and generally enjoy it when I find a good series.
That being said, I haven't watched a series with blatant yuri except for Strawberry Panic, which was ok but not quite what I was hoping for. I do want to try Maria-sama since it seems to get nice reviews.

Yaoi seems to be more popular. I can never understand Yaoi fan girls...it doesn't make sense...anyway...I would like to see at least one good yuri out there that isnt basically soft core hentai..lol something maybe similar to gravitation only with girls...(lets call it anti-gravitation ha ha )

I like interesting or cute romances, and so some shoujo-ai appeals to me. I'm actually completely straight, but I like BL and shoujo-ai a lot ^^;;. Again, though, it's only if they have a decent story. I read shoujo-ai (I don't think I've seen any shoujo-ai anime) less than I read other things though. Then again, not much was available that wasn't explicit until fairly recently. I want to get a good title eventually. Until then, most of my shoujo-ai reading is the occasional fanfiction when I think, "Wow, they would make a good couple." xD

I'm so glad that there is sort of an upcoming surge of yuri with actual stories. It's kind of sad that it's taken this long, though.

Yuri doesn't bother me but I haven't seen/read enough to make a definite decision towards loving it like I do Yaoi. About the Yuri I've seen were the girl Zeros in Loveless. They were so cool...
If anyone knows any good yuri/shojo ai animes, I would love to here about them! I've been looking for new anime to start.

I made some recommendations on the first page, though I'm sure there are more series out there than I have named. I'm currently on a Simoun kick, which is ... sort of yuri, I guess. It's pretty kickass whatever it actually is.
And of course, Maria-sama ga Miteru is pretty essential and lovely if you like subtext that's more text than sub. :D

- My introduction to yuri was Kouya and Yamato of Loveless... I still absolutely love them. <3 And I loved how they had a happy (or at the very least hopeful) 'ending'. That seems to be a little bit rare for yuri?
My next was Kannazuki no Miko. Although I really enjoyed it, I felt like the plot side of things was... maybe a bit lacking? I don't know. But Chikane and Himeko were very adorable. And I loved the little sort of 'epilogue'. ^u^
I've watched... maybe a quarter of Strawberry Panic? I enjoyed it a lot, but in the beginning I couldn't remember any of the characters names, even though I could distinguish them. Not a particular fan of Nagisa/Shizuma at the moment, though... I'd rather see her with her roommate, Tamao. :3
I watched a little bit of Simoun... I was a teensy bit confused to tell the truth. ^u^;; Maybe if I watched it again I'd understand it better... I grasped the overall concepts, just not exactly what was going on, which was sort of a problem. P:
And Kashimashi... just didn't capture my attention at all. I only watched the first episode, so I probably didn't give it enough of a chance, to be honest. I've only heard good things about it, though, so I'll probably try picking it up some day. :3
I want to see something... I can't remember what it's called. Yamibou? I think the full title is Yami to Boshi to Hon no Tabibito, but don't hold me to that. XP Anyone know anything about it?
EDIT: @poorlyexecuted: If you're looking for cute yuri manga, lililicious.net is the website of a yuri scanlation group, and they've translated a lot of cute one shots from yuri magazines. The first one I ever read from there, Cherries For Your Lips, was just adorable~ A very cute story about two best friends, but one is in love with the other... I won't tell you what happens. ;) If you want to find it, it's in the finished manga projects, under the heading of Yuri Hime magazine. :3
