Romeo x Juliet
Has anyone else been watching this? It's a pretty interesting adaptation of the classic play. It's set in the future... I think... and people of noble blood ride Pegasus... Juliet is living in hiding in William Shakespeare's theatre basement. She doesn't even know who she really is, because the Montague family killed her parents and took over the kingdom when she was still a tot. She must disguise herself as a boy, whenever she leaves the her room. And even her close friend doesn't know she's a girl. She also has a secret life of a super hero (Can't have an anime with out a super hero, right?). She plays a sort of Robin Hood type character who protects the innocent and impoverish town people from the king's guards.
I don't want to gibe out any spoilers so I'll stop there... So who else is watching this series, other than myself? Anyone?... |
I have. ^^ It's pretty good, though sometimes it's too real. xD But um, it's a nice anime. I really hope there will be a good ending, because the real Romeo and Juliet story is..sad. >.<;

Yeah, I wonder what they plan to do for the end ^.^ But I mean... It 'is' based on a tragedy ^.^; So it's supposed to be sad. Maybe they'll give it a twist and make it happy though ^.^

Ummm... I had heard about the series but nothing beyond the title and the synopsis you just gave has me rather turned off actually. I would hope that a Romeo and Juliet based anime would actually have something more to do with the play than what is suggested in that.

I love this anime! However I really am a sucker for cheesy girly anime, as well as Romeo and Juliet has been one of my favorite plays ever since I was little. I'm only up to episode 10, but all I can say is there better be a happy ending or I'm going to be upset. Also I really like how the story is a little twisted, it makes it much more interesting. |

Yeah I am watching it and it's cainda cool!! I like Romeo!!! I have star t watching those animes like 3 week ago there are cainda new I am in the 16 episodes!! I want to see tha finals!!

I love this series, so cute and romantic. I can't wait for the ending. Every episode is very intresting.

i was becoming interested till the "dresses like a boy" part. hmm i hope its not the typical cross dressing girl story. about her sword fighting and helping her kingdom or something or other.

it's a anime??? ive read the fisrt vol of the manga and i enjoyed it, i should go look it up if it's an anime XD

I've read up to vol. 6 I love that manga I think its intersting how the two main charters look like the opposite gender! I hope they get together in the end!

Very good series, it's cool how Willy's William Shakespear. xDD I only watch the anime right now, and the last episode is up already, though I didn't get a chance to see it yet.

I thought it was really interesting ^^ but I never got around to finishing the series >__<. Romeo was pretty good-looking ;D Tybalt was also one of my favourites ^-^.

I heard so much about this, I guess now is a good chance to pick up and see how it is. I've always been a big fan of Shakespeare's work.

I saw few episodes of this anime and I really enjoyed it. It is worth watching plus the fact that it's plot is based on the play is just gorgeous.I must see it till the end for sure. I just hope to find it soon.

I guess I should have spent a little more time looking for this thread. :ehhaha: I really love some of the extra characters like Willy, and the frair. I'm on Episode 7. I'll devote my night to the rest of it tonight. Does that art resemble Eureka 7 to you guys? |
I cried so hard watching to ending of this anime.
The characters really grew on me and even though it was a sacrifice for everyone elses happiness, I still felt that romeo and Juliet should have been able to live together and have a life with family and friends. I guess it was for everyone in Neo Verona, I think the story director did a great job of capturing the real value of a tragic story. |
I really like this anime, but I haven't watched the end yet. I don't think it's set place in a future setting, though... it's more of a fantasy? @[email protected]
The beginning song is awesome, too. I know it's a rip-off of Josh Groban, but she changed the lyrics. If my computer sound started working again, I'd finish watching this series. ^^ |

I so totally love there's more action than the real story. <3 I'd so recommend it for anyone that's looking for romantic series. :3 |

I've seen it already and it's really good, it's an anime worth watching. I love the plot, although I have to say I really wish they'd kept to the actual storylike line, but it was still pretty good
