Recommend me some anime? :D
Hello!
Can anyone recommend me something to watch? I would prefer if it had good art... and wasn't mainstream. D: Hrmm... some animes that I like are D.Gray-man and Black Cat, if that helps with recommendations. o_o;; Also... it'd be helpful if you included a summary or reason why it's an awesome anime? ^^U Thanks guys! |
Darker than Black.
Konjiki no Gasshu Bell. Darker than Black is good, kinda like the 4400. Konjiki no Gasshu Bell is Zatch Bell. It may be a little mainstream, but I love it. ^_^ |
Darker Than Black
Elfen Lied Bible Black Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. /a/tards know their anime; I'll be damned if a day doesn't go by without a mention of the blacks. Good enough reason? TTGL; mainstream, but definately worth the watch. Space oceans and giant robot heads, what isn't to like? OT, I'd read the DGM manga instead if I were you. The anime murders it with all the fillers D: |
hmmm... what about Midori no hibe/ Midori days
is very funny It's about a girl that is attached to her crushes right hand. Sound wierd but you'll understand once you watch it. |
Quote:
However I do like your tastes, Gurren Lagann <33 Here I'll reccomend a few I like as well; Scrapped Princess might be a good one for you Solty Rei Chrono Crusade is a must if you like Black Cat (but who doesn't?) Black Jack This Ugly Yet Beautiful World Air Gear Peacemaker Black Lagoon ;D |
I agree with Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. For whatever reason, it's not a very mainstream anime yet, but it's very good. I've heard wonderful things about Darker than Black from friends, though I've yet to see it myself.
Chrno Crusade is a good one, too. You might like Claymore -though it is violent, the pretense of the show is interesting. I'd also recommend Zombie Loan. It's weird, but also a really fun watch. <3 ...I wouldn't recommend, however, listening to the opening. Ever. It makes my ears bleed. |
I suggest you should watch
Zombie Loan Elfen Lied Full Metal Alchemist Serial Experiments Lain Trigun Wolf's Rain Ranma 1/2 :P |
If you do decide to watch Elfen Lied, be careful of the first episode. XD;
...It's, like, the goriest thing I've ever seen. ...And I've a seen a LOT of random gore. o_o; |
Looks like Darker Than Black is going to be on my list, a lot of people have mentioned it. ^^;;
And yeah, I've watched Zombie Loan. It's a pretty good series... I wish there are more episodes out. I've read the first chapter of Claymore, and really... it doesn't seem all that interesting to me. @$%@#!#, isn't Bible Black pr0nz? o______o;;;; -ahem- Anyway, I have a pretty big list now: :: Darker Than Black :: Chrono Crusade :: Scrapped Princess |
Fullmetal Alchemist
Black Blood Brothers Touka Gettan (can be confusing though cause its back to front) Yami to Boushi to Hon no Tabito (might be a bit confusing) Kamichama Karin Ouran High School Host Club Fruits Basket Gankutsuou (defently) Death Note Princess Princess Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge Bleach Naruto? uhm.. think thats it really... |
Death Note's really good, so I would suugest trying that one out. =3 Although, I'm not too sure about how well the anime is, but the manga is really great, and quite addicting. =)
|
Hm... I'd recommend...
Gintama, S-Cry-ed, E's Otherwise, Pani Poni Dash (though... your sanity may diminish), Kaleido Star, (It's really beautiful. When people hear the description they usually turn away, but it's really really good.) Ragnarök the Animation those are the only ones I come to mind at the moment. |
azumanga diaoh
spiral air tv maburaho bleach fruits basket |
Golden Boy
Zero no Tsukaima Ah! My Goddess (only seen the original OVA and movie, which i can vouch are awesome~) I'd say Violinist of Hameln, but only the movie/manga is good. the anime series was just a depressing load of...! D: Just a few X3 |
Fullmetal Alchemist-(for some reason, people like saying this is similar to DGM. -_-) I'm pretty sure you've heard of it, but here's the summary via AnimeNewsNetwork. xD
"After losing their mother, Alphonse and Edward Elric attempt to bring her back using the forbidden science of human alchemy. However, alchemy operates on the theory of equivalent trade, and breaking the human alchemy taboo carries a heavy price. Ed loses his leg, and Al loses his body. Ed is able to seal Al's soul inside of a huge suit of armor, at the cost of his arm. Years later, Ed (now with two mechanical limbs) and Al (still trapped in the armor) leave their childhood home, each brother concerned with the other's happiness. Ed, who has a natural talent and skill for alchemy, becomes nationally certified and is soon known everywhere as the "Fullmetal Alchemist." Their true objective is to search for any information on the fabled Philosopher's Stone, hoping it will allow them to regain their old bodies. All of their hopes rest with this mythical stone, which may not even exist at all. However, the brothers soon learn that they are not the only ones after the powerful stone." Devil May Cry-GREAT game, by the way. If you have a PS2, I recommend it :3 Summary from AnimeNewsNetwork "Devil May Cry follows the adventures of the demon hunter Dante who himself is half demon and half human. Dante is hired through his own business named "Devil May Cry". The characters are based off of the popular capcom playstation 2 games." Darker Than Black--summary by AnimeNewsNetwork again. xD "In Tokyo, an impenetrable field known as "Hell's Gate" appeared ten years ago. At the same time, psychics who wield paranormal powers at the cost of their conscience also emerged. Hei is one of the most powerful of these psychic agents, and along with his blind associate, Yin, works for one of the many rival agencies vying to unlock the mysteries of Hell's Gate." I have more, but I don't want to make the post unecessarily long @[email protected] And I apologize if people have recommended these already. >.> |
AIR t.v (Trust me I hated the Movie)
Elfen Lied (A little gory..xD) Thats all I can think of so far.. Bleach is pretty good but it`s kinda mainstream..o.o |
EBI-CHUU! It's a bit on the raunchy side, but oh god is it funny.
Also, I've started getting into Lucky Star, and i gotta say it's ridiculously adorable, and the opening is really catchy. It's a bit like Azumanga, in which it's about a bunch of girls in high school. I'm going to have to go with a bunch of other people and reccomend Gurren Lagaan. It's just so awesome and really well animated. It's one of the few giant robot animes i've ever really gotten into. hmm...there's also Sayonoara Zetsubou Sensei, which is fairly new and it has some really nice artsy graphics. |
hummm good animes which aren't exactly the main stream XD eheheh
Well there's Getbackers, great anime to laugh, great art, nice characters, good action and nice fighting scenes XD It's about two guys who are the "getbackers" their job is to retrieve anything with a 100% success and even though they are really good on their job... they always mess up and either don't get payed or they destroy too many things and their payment goes to pay the bill o.o. Cluster Edge, great art, some fighiting and really nice art XD it's about a world where for war artificial soldiers were created and even though they have a soul of their own they are considered like junk once the war ends and then there was a character, the most famous one among all characters of the series who died in the first episode but wanted to protect the rights of the artificial soldiers so that they would be treated like normal human beings. This series is not all about war and most of it is passed on the school, Cluster Edge where a new generation of boys are learning and maybe will be able to change the world. Kyou Kara Maou, great art, and hell of a funny serie XD. Right in the first episode the main character was flushed down a toilet to a world where he would become the demon king and get a lovely wife to be, Wolfram, a beautiful bishonen (yep that's right it's not a bishoujo Yuuri got but a beautiful boy :3) all because of a slap he gave the blondie because the last one was talking shit about his mother XD. Though this anime got some shounen ai, it's also great to watch even if you don't like that genre much XD. Peace Maker Kurognae is also great ♥♥ one of the best shounens there is ♥ It's set in almost the same time period as Ruroni kenshin, though some years before, and it's about the Shinsegumi, a group of samurais who worked for the country as a barrier against the changes that came from the other counties. Most characters are from actual people who lived and were part of the Shinsegumi though the main character, the boy Tetsu is just a fictional character, he wanted to join the Shinsegumi to become strong and avenge his father who was killed by another group... Great serie for fighting scenes and funny scenes XD by the way, in this one, Okita's pet is a little pigglet named Saizo XD And by the way, if you feel like trying out real shounen ai with cat boys try out loveless, the art is really really cute and the story is really nice too XD, for this one I'm not sure how to make a summary but... there are the fighters and the sacrifices, the fighters fight and the sacrifices give orders and take the damage of the fights, and the main character got the fighter of his dead brother and the big question is if Soubi (that fighter) will be loyal to his new master (ritsuka) or if he would go back to his old master were he to come back... Hope this post was useful ^^ |
But then again, some great anime's are very mainstream.
I started watching Darker than Black. Not really that mainstream, but it's an awesome anime. It's about contractors who have a contract. They can use a special power but have an obeisance which is some sort of repayment for using their power. One has to cook, the other has to line things up in a row and one even had to break his own finger. Then they're is Elfen Lied, which was already recommended, but it's an awesome anime. A little gory, but the story is amazing and the ending is so beautiful/out of the ordinary, which makes it even better. It's not just a hunky-dory everyone happy ending. Lemme see what other one's there are. I'm going to start watching Claymore and I've watched D. Grey Man and loved it. Definitely a good anime. I love the akuma and his anit-akuma weapon being his hand, even though the name is very unoriginal. Also the fact that he is a super rare exorcist is a little cliche, but all in all, this anime is great. If you also don't mind reading manga, which you can also do online, I suggest Vampire Knight. It's an awesome manga and I'm absolutely in love with it. I can't wait till there is a anime version. And my final advice is Death Note if you're not already watching it. It's an awesome anime and the story line is amazing. I loved how it followed the less than holy side of the story, instead of being an officer trying to chase down the suspect, they showed how it was the suspect, and his reasoning behind killing. Also they didn't necessarily point out if Light's opinion was good or bad. Really puts a second perspective on killing. |
Eureka Seven is AMAZING.
