Manga is so great!~
But there are always the bad ones, few as they come. What's the absolute WORST manga you were ever unfortunate enough to read? And, please, tell us why it failed so misserably.
IN recent memory the worst manga I've read is The Devil Within by Ryo Takagi. The story and premise make it interesting enough, and the cover art is pretty and cute... But the story... ugh there really isn't one. The girl likes little boys, somewhere down the line 4 guys want to marry her, and by the end she's apparently a demon. That's why I got out of it. I think everything was just a plot device to make a perverted manga for girls but that's just me .__. Anyway, this one failed for me.

Pita-ten. A bunch of up-the-skirt shots of
5-year-olds is not my cup of tea. The manga-ka
of that series tried way too hard to sound
all cute. It was pathetic.

I can't remember the name of the manga I read that I thought was the worst one ever. It was just soooo boring... >,< I couldn't even finish it. And normaly if a manga was bad at the beginning, I'll still atleast attempt to finish it and this one I didn't. I was just sooo...errr....aggravating! :x It was just sooo slow!
I thought Pita-Ten was cute though, but I can agree with you about them being so young. But the over all story line was great! XD

Hmm, I don't know. I hate when manga remains incomplete. Like I know of quite a few Korean manawa that have been canceled. :(
Now actual plot... I really can't get into Wallflower.
A lot of my friends really like it but I can't stand that she goes back and forth from being this hideously ugly basement crawler and this super hot military esq pretty girl. I know it's her perception of herself v.s. everyone else's perception of her when she does something cool... but it's just annoying to me.

You read manga that remins incompleted? that sucks.... i seen lots of anime that are incompleted (or so to speak mostly stuff like that nowadays are just need a bit of patientce for a second series) but never read a manga like that before.
Though i think i will run into one soon, i think yami no matsuei is like that to, and DN Angel could possibly get like that as well.

- Inuyasha. I read the whole series from first to the last one.
I disliked the fact that it was a reaptive series and all that went on was 'OMG! NARAKU IS ATTACKING!' 'WINDSCARE!' 'I'll be back baby!' I did not like that.
If i wanted a reaptive series i would read deathnote. srsly.

Deathnote isn't repedative. The two new characters that replace the old one are a bit of a repeat but thats the idea behind it. It was a short and good series.. never compare it to inuyasha! Inuyasha sucks...(my opinion)
The worst manga I have ever read had to be knights of rayerth or something like that, by clamp. I have to like the art work and that one didn't do it for me. Ontop of that the stroy wasn't all that great..

Ranma 1/2 by Rumiko Takahashi because is was 20-30 some books of the same thing just with a different name for each competition. No one developed, and the jokes just got old.

It was something like Fallen Angel or something... It went against everything I believe in and was just WAY to long! Usually I can finish a manga in under an hour, but this book lasted me over about two hours and I never got done! I just got to the last chapter and said "Forget this! This is idiotic!" and gave it backto the guy I borrowed it from. He was a little.. errmmm... -How shall I say this delicately?- strange. I guess I shoulda expected a bad manga from a guy like him.
Either that manga, or Cherry Juice. That book jsut confuses me! It has all the things I hate in a story: Incest and yaoui(sp?)! And I couldn't keep up with what was happening! She'd be holding a picture in one panel all mad and everything, then suddenly she's as happy as a clam (I still don't get that saying) and never mentions WHY she was mad!!! Talk about confuzzling! (word I picked up from Kupika ^^)

Loveless, Knights Of Rayerth, R.O.D
R.O.D was just too awkward and adventurous for me and Loveless is just really confusing and stupid when I read it. Knights Of Rayerth was not too original and wayyy too confusing.
But I love Ranma 1/2 and Inuyasha's a bit...erm...too romantic and predictable, I suppose.

Your choice to like it and everything but i looked it up and it said its not incest, they are just step siblings so thus it is NOT incest!!!
Incest is when it is blood parents, blood (half or full) siblings, Nephew and Aunties, and in some cases depnding on what country you live in cousions.
But step is not and will never ever will be anywhere considered incest, if so then its flying over the top!

Honestly, Psychic Academy. The plot just didn't appeal to me and the perverseness was just to much. I think this was actually one of my first manga, and I couldn't get past the first volume.

Dang...
But it still has that gay yaoi stuff in it >>;;
And Fallen Angel really does have incest. It says so on the back :3

I.N.V.U!
Tokyopop bought this and they never even finished it! I loved the first 2 volumes but imcomplete series just suck!
Fruits Basket!
It may be just because I'm a guy because I can't stand the series. I mean the storyline is so original but the events that happen are so corny! I don't know why I hate it but my friend forced me to read all the way to volume 10 and I still can't stand it!

Hikaru no Go. That manga was so boring. It had an interesting storyline, sure, but there was absolutly no action in it or suspence; you knew what was going to happen next! >.<
I really do love the artist who drew it, though. Amazing work. <3

Rironi Kenshin, Although I'm sure I've spelled that incorrectly.
A friend of mine is totally absolutely obsessed with the series, and I can't stand it. He's lent parts to me, and it just....no. I'd rather sit through an episode of DragonBall Z. And I -loathe- that series.
Of course he's also totally hung up on Riruka from "Bleach", and any Bleach character with a weapon bigger than they are, so I guess that sorta sums up his tastes...

For the person that said they didn't like The WallFlower: I personally loved the manga! There are girls who has a very low self-esteem. I can even relate. I understand how the whole back and forth thing that Sunako does. She doesn't really believe in herself that she is pretty. Therefore, Sunako herself must realize that she is beautiful, no matter what guy tells her she is or isn't. But really, even though you may not like the book, you sometimes have to relate to Sunako.
Now, the worst manga I have ever read was Cowboy Bebop: Shooting Star. It was just another side story. No real fun and danger... it was just monotonous stuff like they always did. I read both books... ridiculous. They even cancelled the next book.

I see the good in most series, but i really can't stand it when they way overdo one. Pokemon and DBZ in my midn have been WAY overdone. Yugioh gets a lot of exposure because of the card game, but I don't feel they've stepped over the same bounds as pokemon and DBZ have.
Naruto is threatening to cross hte line, but I think there are enough sane old time fans to reel it in and keep it from becoming too popularized.
As for ones that I genuinely don't like... there's this stupid one in ShounenJump. It's like BoBoBoBoBoBo or something and it just makes me go, What the flip?
Inuyasha isn't bad. It's a tiny bit repetitive, and pedictable, but it's cute, and that's the point.

I might get flamed for this but I never really liked Tusbasa(or however the weird direct spin off of Card Captor Sakura is spelled). It just plain didn't make sense to me and I got bored at the same time. Most of the time I tend to get good picks so I don't normally worry about crossing bad ones.

I agree, actually. I don't HATE Tsubasa because anything with Ashura in it is going to make me at least somewhat happy, but Tsubasa is definitely not one of CLAMP's best works. I don't understand why it's more popular than some of the original series that it draws from.
