It's really hard to hate these comics in my opinion. Does anyone else share my opinion, or is there anyone who does hate Calvin and Hobbes?
They are incredibly well written(by Bill Watterson) and have the perfect combination in Calvin of an adult and a six year old.
My personal favorite strips are the ones where he and Susie are playing house and change into grown ups and the ones where he makes mutated or disturbing snowmen.
Discuss:
-Your feelings about Calvin and Hobbes & why.
-Which characters you like/hate the most.
-What type of subject matter that's covered is your favorite?
-Do you suppose it would be illegal for me to post a few of my favorite strips on this page? I don't want to break any laws, but I've got some good examples of why Calvin and Hobbes are so awesome.

I love calvin and hobbes so much. I used to read it when I was younger over and over and over again. I love the little poems and bits of philosphy popped in now and again xx

Me too <3. I just bought a bunch of Calvin and Hobbes books at Goodwill for 35 cents each(they were counted as childrens books)! It was very exciting because they are ridiculously expensive in most bookstores.

I think Calvin and Hobbes was a genius idea. I would have never thought of something like that, A young boy and his pet tiger put in mini comics always having some kind of fantasy going on between the two like when Calvin sees snow people or when he goes into space. I don't think i would ever meet someone older that actually enjoys a child's classic comic. If you have any questions on Calvin and Hobbes Just ask me because i pretty much know eveything about Calvin and Hobbes. There have been other comic strips alot like Calvin and Hobbes Im not sure what the names are but there all alike in some small way.

Yeah i wonder how old Calvin and Hobbs is it looks like it would at least be 20 years old because the stuff in the story are sorta new like Calvin's computer etc.

I like these too, a friend of mine bought me a big book of their strips for Christmas last year. I like the way his Dad bullshits him about so much stuff because he doesn't know how to explain it properly >.<
Calvin's a pretty vile little boy too, you just know that if you know him in RL you'd want to slap him 8)

Calvin and Hobbes is amazing. I started reading them when I was like, seven or something, and I didn't understand most of it, and I still loved it. Now that I understand it, I love it even more. My mom actually took away all of my Calvin and Hobbes when I was about eight or nine because she said I was becoming too cynical :]]

Ahh, I love and have always loved Calvin and Hobbes! <3 I read them all the time as a kid, and like cyanideislove said, I just read them more now that I understand them better xD
Calvin and Hobbes remind me very very much of one of my best friends and I xPP She tends to be optimistic and a little silly, and I tend to be more cynical with a huge imagination and crazy plans. :B <3
Finding Calvin and Hobbes books for that amount of money is so exciting. ;3; You're lucky >3<

I've always loved Calvin and Hobbes! My brother collected every book he could find of them when he was younger and I guess his slightly obsessive love of them carried on to me.
Hobbes was always my favorite character I always found the comic strips where he was napping extremely adorable.
I think my favorite Calvin and Hobbes moments were when Calvin's bike was after him and the evil mutant snowmen. He always had the best snowmen.

I had gotten into calvin in hobbes after hearing from many people just how awesome they were. I didn't get the genius after I really read through my own copy of a compilation book.
I love how Calvin loves dinosaurs and is in his own world recreating that period of time. Every time coming home and to have hobbes jump on him. I found it interesting a young child of his calibre could talk so well like an adult but sound like a child at the same time.
Calvin is one naughty child but I like how he sees life and doesn't want to miss anything.
His dad sure knows how to tell how things work in life. haha nawt.

I *love* the snowmen Calvin and Hobbs. People have actually recreated the snowmen in some of those comics. XD
I remember in 5th grade my teacher had a ton of C&H books in the bookshelf, and we would all fight over who got to read them during reading time. (yes, my school's 5th grade was set up like a 2nd grade, lol)

I was very, very happy when they put out that gigantic collected and annotated Calvin and Hobbes collection a few years back. I think it was just about the only thing on my Christmas list, and I was happy with that. Still one of the coolest things I have ever bought, I think - it's such a nifty, multifaceted comic. I miss it. =3

It would be nice to have that "that gigantic collected and annotated Calvin and Hobbes collection" but it was just to expensive. Me and my boyfriend got together in part thanks to calvin and hobbes. We were just good friends discovering that we had a ton in common and something got said about green eyes and I said "with green eyes and a nice smile who i can call bitsypookums" and right on que he answered "bitsy pookums!?" and i finished "and she'll call me her snoogy woogy". up until then we didn't know eachother liked calvin and hobbes. For our first valentines I had the strip put on a mug for him:heart::hug:

I really love Calvin and Hobbes! I think I own half the collection. It's fabulous! I really enjoy when he is a "Hard boiled Detective." It's so much fun because it reminds me of myself at that age. I wanted to be a detective and solve mysteries and such. Oh to be Calvin with all his adventures!

I did a speach about Calvin and Hobbes a while ago, they're named after philosyphers and you see it a lot in the thoughts of the pair of them, they're very deep thinkers for a stuffed tiger and a 6 year old boy. I would love to have a doll or something of them but i've never seen any because Watterson never wanted them commercialised. I see his point but he could have made a fortune off it and i would have loved my Hobbes doll. I have a cat called hobbes instead now.
