well, it depends. Sometimes i prefer watching the anime because it adds to it and the art is more beautiful in the anime.
Other times, i like to read the manga because the story plot is better. :P It's usually what type of mood i'm in. |
i don't know, i like both of them alot. anime because it the moving or animation version of manga and manga is like the original one. manga also, sometime go on longer then the anime but then the anime have all the voice and talk and action and is so cute^-^
|
Anime is better because i like animation versions of manga xD
|
Better is Anime cuz i dont have to read xDDDD
|
I like both of them about the same.
|
I like anime more...not sure why
|
I like anime more than manga sometimes ^.^;; but I admit, manga is usually ALWAYS better than the anime... (Love Hina... the anime sucks somthing awful, and the manga rocks!)
|
I like anime battles because my mind doesn't piece fights together too well. but overall I like mangas, something about seeing the origional story seems better. but for long running series the anime version is a good choice. but some of the best stories I've read have come from mangas that are too short a series to make a season of a show. both are nice but at the moment I like mangas, possible to change in the nest 15 minutes :)
|
I like manga better, I dunno why. Maybe because I tend to like books better than movies and whatnot.
|
Depends on which came first for any given series, or is better. For example, I love the "Negima" manga, but don't really care for the anime versions, since they aren't by Akamatsu himself, but only done with his permission. I prefer to deal with whatever is canon - i.e. done mostly by the author. One instance where I prefer just the anime is "Escaflowne". Love the look of the characters in the anime, but the ones in the manga look so different I can't get into it.

I've always prefered manga other than anime. It's the original copy. But it's really interesting how they take the manga and make it come to life. Although sometimes, the anime is worst than the manga because they make changes. Then again, sometimes it's the other way around. xD |
For me, it usually depends on which one I think is better in portaying the character and scenes and plot-wise. In the mangas, they give more information about this and that than the anime, like Read or Die. For example, the manga explained how Nenene and Yomiko met. Besides, some anime skipped some chapters of the manga, like Cardcaptor Sakura and Inuyasha, I think. Their characters are more artistic. For that reason, I think the characters in mangas and so much better than the anime . Sometimes, I think the anime is better. The anime versions are always more well known. Most of the people I know always hear about the anime first rather than the manga. Also, it's more accessible than the manga. In most cases, whenever I try to search for the manga, it's either not there or I have to buy it. Also, I can't imagine fights as well as the anime portrays it. It really bugs me when the anime isn't completed, like Inuyasha. There really wasn't a closure to the story. It's like reading a really interesting book and only to find the last few chapters was torn from the book.

Personally I perfer the manga as we are in a recession and one can't pay for the gas if one is spending it on anime. xD
Granted its twisted logic but I get more bang for me buck with the manga compared to the anime. :D |
I like anime more in general but I have found a few manga i enjoyed much more than the anime. Some examples of those are Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles and all the Saiyuki.
Those are the only two I can think of actually. Just to let people know though, if they want some free anime they can try animekiwi.com or animefuel.com If you have moral issues about the liscenses then just research if something is liscensed and then watch the ones that aren't. |
I like both equally. I mean, I guess it depends on my mood because on one side the anime really brings to life a story. On the other, sometimes it skips out on some of the things that are in the manga. So either way something gets cut out. If I have time, money and energy, I try to check out both. Like Sailor Moon, or Ouran High School Host Club.

Anime Vs Manga
What do you like more Anime or manga? I like anime more but there are some better mangas out there.
|
I'm always on the side of anime instead of manga! Probably because I am biased and I really can't bother reading non moving pictures with no colour when there is an alternative to seeing them in action :P Of course, the storylines will differ or will be cut in the anime but I think the anime gets rid of a lot of unnecessary elements in a manga plus there's always more expression in an anime and good OSTs to go with it when they are released. It is also really expensive to buy Japanese manga or translated versions here compared to full boxsets ^^" Here, one volume of a manga can come up to the same price of two boxsets of 26 episodes...
|
I usually prefer manga. I think the art is more commonly better than that of the anime and you get a lot more of the story. When manga is made it to anime, things end up getting cut out, especially side stories. I also like reading the author's notes and what they think about their stories.
|
It really all depends on my mood and how I feel. I normally go for the manga however!
|
i agree too
i love them both but i like manga cuz i can read it and i like anime cuz i can watch it lmao |
I love both equally i guess. It depends on the my mood what i prefer at a certain moment. I can completely lose myself in them and it doesn't matter whether it's manga or anime.
Anime gives me sounds and movements, makes the characters and surroundings come to life completely. I really enjoy that. But manga can draw me in just as much, because of the art and the story, the genius of creating a page that gives you enough information so it comes to life in your mind. |
hmm it depends on what it is..
i like both tho. but i think sometimes manga is better because they show more than the anime does. Yet anime is good cuz u dont have to read it XD i get lazy. |
Mmmm, I usually prefer the manga because there is more to the story, but so long as the anime keeps to the story of the manga its based off of, then I don't really mind it. Sure, they don't put what actually happens in the manga all the time, but that doesn't make it a bad anime.
|
It depends, I usually find anime to be more engaging and just so much more entertaining. 100+ chapters are DAUNTING.
I really dislike it when characters in a manga all look the same, so an anime in colour is a big help. I mostly about characters so watching characters come to life on the screen is nice. I sometimes end up reading the manga and liking it more than the anime if the story is told is better or if the characters are portrayed better. |
I tend to prefer to read manga more than watch anime. This is because it's quicker to read a manga than watch the episodes. I could get through a storyline in the manga faster than I can while watching.
I also tend to prefer manga because it will often continue on while the anime ends with just around 12 - 26 episodes. There are longer series, but they often just end, and so if you want to continue the series, you'd need to read the manga. Of course, if the anime of a series came first before the manga, then I'll watch the anime before reading the manga. For me, it's all about which is the source material, because there are such things as adaptation decay. Still, manga usually contains things that are either cut out of the anime, changed, or just not the same at all. However, I also like anime because I can hear what the characters sound like, and it often includes interesting sound effects and nice music. This is also extended to anime opening themes. I've always had an incredible fondness for watching anime openings to get a feel for the series and character design. |
