I'm a fan of horror Manga, and also a big fan of the Lovecraftian Mythos, so I immediately grabbed this Tokyopop manga.
It's very strange, sort of "Sam Spade" meets "Nyarthotep", but I found it kind of fun in a dark way. It implies from the spine there may be at the least a second book, but who knows when at the moment. Am I the only one who's read this particular manga?

Ooh, I don't like horror manga very much.. even the name sounds scary. -shivers- xD;; I wish I wasn't so scared of these things. ><

I'm kind of a sucker for a good horror Manga, which is funny I suppose since I don't read much regular horror.
This one's almost as much black humor as it is scary though, although my sister just flat out hated it. I really didn't think it was that bad personally, but I guess we were coming at it from different angles.
Like the bartender named Gill, who kept making aquatic references with his very flowery speech. (rather a contrast to the rough detective). I don't really doubt Gil and his water references were meant as a play on the Deep Ones. ((Lovecrafts fishy monsters of the depths)). He didn't look the part though, which made it also amusing. But then...maybe I've just got an weird sense of humor?

Even if I tried to read it, I probably wouldn't get the humor... xDD; But I know that there's a lot of good horror mangas.. if only I liked them. ><

Some of it you'd kinda of catch mostly if you were a Lovecraft fan, but it's still good.

I find there's a difference between what I call 'horror' and what I just refer to as 'slasher' material.

The reason I like 'J' Horror comics and movies is because usually they revolve so much less around the size of the fake blood (or black ink) budget, and so much more around a psychological idea of something.
Like the idea of a self perpetuating grudge, or in Dark Goodbye, the idea that you could be jealous for the paternal affections of an elder god.
