You're very lucky. I wish I found something like that at a flea market. The best thing I've found at a flea market is a Cardcaptor Sakura doll that I didn't even want. :(
Unfortunately, I don't have the whole set.(I actually don't own any Evangelion tapes). But I DID watch it on VHS originally. And I don't think I'd watch it any other way, if I had my choice. :). I liked watching the commercials that came before the episodes. Even though I never watched half of the anime that was advertised, it always let me know what ADV had. :)

I have a friend who owns the entire set. He bought them back-in-the-day before DVDs were available and spent over £200 on the things. He also has every DVD edition ever released and assorted merchandise including the LCL drinks-cans XD

I would love the card captor sakura doll. Best I have found is a fully sealed gundam wing 0 model that is copyright 1996. Yes old and rare. I got it in france at a toy store, it was funny.

I love cardcaptor sakura and if I could find the old tapes, or tenshi ones, I would so buy them on the spot, I miss those series, but now only see them in japanese. It is a trip down memory lane to have the english.

I got a card captor sakura doll for my birthday from my grandma, as for finding those Evangelion tapes that is so cool, you can't find them anywhere anymore now you can get the series on DVD. I think the rares thing that I found was a 12 inch inuyasha doll with clothes at a con for $25(you can get it on the net for $150).

Wow. You are very lucky.
Those must be very hard to find today in regular stores.
I own the Complete DVD set so I stopped my quest on Neon Genesis Evangelion movies. xD.

My best friend and ex-roommate and I bought Evangelion on tape from a comic book store at one point but I think she sold them at a garage sale. She might still have them I don't know. I bought the dvds in slimpack form not to long ago. It is by far my favorite anime so as soon as I could afford it on dvd I bought it.

Huray someone who likes older technology! Come my VHS brotherin and we shall storm the CD empire by suprise so that the Vinyl Record Empire shall rise again!

In all seriousness I sort of regret not picking up these Evangelion VHS's that were on sale for a dollar at this one convention. I was going to but when I came back all they had left was Dragonball. Which I wasn't upset with because I like Dragonball but they had the whole series for a dollar a tape. :(

Plus even though older technology is awsome if your just careful with a dvd then it should be living a long, healthy life.

I personally have not seen this series U.U Though I have heard that it was/is -amazing-.

Congratulations on your find ^_^ VHS is becoming a thing of the past much more quickly than I thought it would. However, I do like the DVD's, but for only one reason. The Japanese language option with English subtitles. Things just seem much better in their original language, and has more feeling to it. So I don't mind a lot of reading ^_^

I have the full set, or I'm missing one or two (but I do have them taped as well). My uncle gave them to me two years ago when he got tired of them. That's also how I got the entire Gundam Wing VHS collection and my sister got all the Escaflowne VHS.

I once found one of the tapes at a library sale. I'm not a big fan of the series, but I knew someone who was, so I gave it to him. XD

Kinda reminds me of my Bubble Gum Crisis: Tokyo 2040. I have VHS numbers 3, 5, 6 and 8. Completely useless if you want to know the storyline, but great for gathering dust!
